CKY has entered the mixing stage of their forthcoming new studio album, "Carver City." The album will be released via Roadrunner Records on May 19th and was produced by the bands guitarist Chad I Ginsburg. Lead singer Derron Miller states: "Literally all the things that have been keeping CKY strong since our last album - the undying hardcore support of our fans, our unorthodox musical approach and a brand new partnership with Roadrunner Records - have restored an enthusiasm within our band that has never been this extreme. Sobriety, hard work, patching up inner turmoil and a love for what we do has undoubtedly made this the most collaborative and focused CKY effort to date."
Deron Miller of CKY fame has posted some updates on his current situation. In regards to last years' fallout with CKY, he had the following to say:
"I'm still waiting on some news myself. when i say i know nothing, that means i really know...nothing. i have not heard from anyone at all since that st. lois show when that shit went down. i have tried to get in touch with those guys but they are not ready to speak to me as they are still understandably pissed off at me. its frustrating for everyone but for me it especially sucks because i am no longer that person that caused that trouble. in any event i hope we can finally finish the masterpiece that we started and get out touring again. thats all i can say."
For the moment, Miller is working on his death metal band, World Under Blood, about which he had the following to say:
"the big news
the time has come to head back into the studio in early april and lay down 4 new WUB tracks. the 4 of us are really amped on the last song i wrote, i think it'll end up being the best one i've ever written in my life. there's also one thats pretty fast, in fact i'm thinking maybe its a bit too fast...which means its perfect. we're also going to do some covers...the definite one we're doing is megadeth's "wake up dead" which we all agree to be one of the best metal songs of all time.
to be honest, this wasnt the big news...but you'll know soon enough.
CKY are planning a March/April 2008 release of their new studio album. The band contributed a remixed version of the track "Rio Bravo" to the upcoming 'Viva La Bands Vol. 2' compilation, due out on September 4th, which can be streamed now at this location.
As previously reported, CKY will be touring on the "Viva La Bands" tour featuring CKY, Cradle of Filth, GWAR and Vains of Jenna.
Gwar's Oderus Urungus has issued a new proclamation of hatred in which he announces the band's partipation in BAM MARGERA'S Viva La Bands Tour:
"Humans, it is I, your Master, ODERUS, lead singer of the most violent band in metal history, the mighty GWAR, with the latest update on our progress in the destruction of your world! We are pleased to smugly announce our
continuing ravaging of North America shall continue throughout the fall and winter of this year, as GWAR joins the first ever “Viva La Bands” tour, hosted by everyone’s favorite troll, Bam Magera! Yes, apparently Bam didn’t get enough of our abuse during our appearance on his show, and begged us (while he was hung over a vat of boiling urine) to join a line-up that includes CRADLE OF FILTH, C.K.Y., and more!"
"You are COMMANDED to attend and grovel in the presence of your infernal overlords, GWAR, as we extend our mastery to even more flaming venues across your world and inflict more suffering and pestilence upon a deserving nation! GWAR will tour with the “Viva La Bands” tour throughout the fall, and then move on to destroy even more cities in a final frenzy of touring that shall bring to a close the “Beyond Hell” tour cycle. Stay tuned for dates, times, and free crack! GWAR lives!"

They are great supporters of rock music and understand that this is supposed to be more than just another concert experience. It's a new age vaudeville show."
In addition to the four musical acts on the tour, Viva La Bands will be projecting over sixty minutes of exclusive video content including deleted scenes from Bam's wildly successful MTV series "Viva La Bam™".
