Speaking with live-metal.net, Suicide Silence’s frontman Eddie Hermida opens up on the "feud" with Thy Art Is Murder that recently sparked off online. Hermida in particlar criticized Thy Art Is Murder for being stuck in a deathcore rut and spoofing U.S. President Donald Trump‘s campaign hats with TAIM's new "Make Deathcore Great Again"-hats.
Offers Hermida: "Thy Art Is Murder absolutely saw an opportunity and ran with it, and honestly, they did the silliest thing you could ever do in mimicking somebody like Trump and say that they are not selling out. They are literally going, “Hey, we’re not sell-outs, but please buy this hat. You need to buy this hat.” It’s completely backwards thinking. They’re looking for their fans to feed into the chaos. They’re looking for the attention, and that’s fine. It goes exactly with what I said—we don’t need that kind of attention anymore. I praise them for jumping on an opportunity just like they should. When you’re desperate for making money, you’re going to serve the fans, you’re going to create the same music so that they can feel safe in their sound, and you’re going to try your hardest to maintain in that world. Australia's incendiary extreme act Thy Art Is Murder confirmed the return of vocalist CJ McMahon by releasing a video clip for the new song "No Absolution."
Guitarist Andy Marsh recently spoke on McMahon's return and the brand new track: "A little over a year ago we were left in a pickle when CJ had finally reached his breaking point - the physical, emotional and mental stresses of touring, and the lifestyle had taken its toll on him. After the dust had settled we had time to speak amongst ourselves, and with him, and we were all able to get on the same page.
"He was able to take time off from the road and work consistently, tick off some life goals like getting married, and enjoy the routine and familiarity of life at home with his friends and family.
"Conversely the rest of us kept going, touring relentlessly, playing bigger tours to more people than ever before, going to new countries for the very first time, and had a blast taking a few great vocalists and mates out for the ride with us while we weathered the storm and figured things out. Special thanks must go out to Monte Barnard, Nicholas Arthur, Lochlan Watt, and every other vocalist who took the time to apply in our discrete vocalist auditions. More...

Australian outfit Thy Art Is Murder just posted the following message online about parting ways with vocalist CJ McMahon:
"After much conjecture and ambiguity on his behalf, it is with a heavy heart that we must announce today that CJ is no longer a part of Thy Art Is Murder. We have worked so hard from day one to make this band what it is now, and develop the reputation that we have and he had been there with us every step of the way.
"We like to think that even if someone doesn't like our music that they can at least respect our work ethic. This band has taken us to places we never thought we would see and to share stages with many bands we never thought we would get to play with or meet, let alone call friends. It is unfortunate that with our best year to date and our biggest paved out before us that he has decided to leave.
"All this being said, touring as hard as we do does take its toll on you physically, but more importantly mentally and emotionally. We are an underground metal band, and have been so fortunate over the last two years to carve out a small income thanks to so many dedicated and generous fans around the world. For some people, it comes to a turning point in their life where that income is no longer enough for their personal goals, and that point has come for CJ. We would like to wish him all our best as he leaves the band and moves onward to start a family and new life with his loving fiancée.
"The four of us are continuing forward into 2016 for some of the biggest and best tours of our lives. We won't be slowing down or missing any shows. We head back out next month with Parkway Drive and Architects throughout Europe and the UK and will be taking one of our favourite vocalists with us, Nick Arthur from Molotov Solution.
"Thy Art is what we have done with all of our adult lives and we have put absolutely everything we have into the band and the friendship between the four of us. That friendship and drive to create extreme music is what has kept us together through thick and thin. Unfortunately not everyone can share this fire." More...

In an interview with Metal Injection Thy Art Is Murder frontman Chris "CJ" McMahon addresses this year's Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, which has been struggling with controversial comments from Slayer's Kerry King and Mayhem co-founder Kevin Lyman, downgraded venues and also canceled shows.
States McMahon: "Apparently 'Mayhem' this year is fully shot. All the catering is shit - they have a different catering every day and most of the days it’s shit. Attendance has been piss poor man, like, you know, I’m just trying to spit the facts out… There is a lot of people walking out towards the end of the night.
"Ask anybody that’s been on this Mayhem Tour, like obviously you’re going to interview other bands and they’re gonna be like 'yeah dude it’s really cool, there’s so many…' There’s shit tons of people here for bands like me and stuff. But for these massive bands man, there’s not enough people for them and it’s sad to see...."
