Australian outfit Thy Art Is Murder just posted the following message online about parting ways with vocalist CJ McMahon:
"After much conjecture and ambiguity on his behalf, it is with a heavy heart that we must announce today that CJ is no longer a part of Thy Art Is Murder. We have worked so hard from day one to make this band what it is now, and develop the reputation that we have and he had been there with us every step of the way.
"We like to think that even if someone doesn't like our music that they can at least respect our work ethic. This band has taken us to places we never thought we would see and to share stages with many bands we never thought we would get to play with or meet, let alone call friends. It is unfortunate that with our best year to date and our biggest paved out before us that he has decided to leave.
"All this being said, touring as hard as we do does take its toll on you physically, but more importantly mentally and emotionally. We are an underground metal band, and have been so fortunate over the last two years to carve out a small income thanks to so many dedicated and generous fans around the world. For some people, it comes to a turning point in their life where that income is no longer enough for their personal goals, and that point has come for CJ. We would like to wish him all our best as he leaves the band and moves onward to start a family and new life with his loving fiancée.
"The four of us are continuing forward into 2016 for some of the biggest and best tours of our lives. We won't be slowing down or missing any shows. We head back out next month with Parkway Drive and Architects throughout Europe and the UK and will be taking one of our favourite vocalists with us, Nick Arthur from Molotov Solution.
"Thy Art is what we have done with all of our adult lives and we have put absolutely everything we have into the band and the friendship between the four of us. That friendship and drive to create extreme music is what has kept us together through thick and thin. Unfortunately not everyone can share this fire." More...

In an interview with Metal Injection Thy Art Is Murder frontman Chris "CJ" McMahon addresses this year's Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, which has been struggling with controversial comments from Slayer's Kerry King and Mayhem co-founder Kevin Lyman, downgraded venues and also canceled shows.
States McMahon: "Apparently 'Mayhem' this year is fully shot. All the catering is shit - they have a different catering every day and most of the days it’s shit. Attendance has been piss poor man, like, you know, I’m just trying to spit the facts out… There is a lot of people walking out towards the end of the night.
"Ask anybody that’s been on this Mayhem Tour, like obviously you’re going to interview other bands and they’re gonna be like 'yeah dude it’s really cool, there’s so many…' There’s shit tons of people here for bands like me and stuff. But for these massive bands man, there’s not enough people for them and it’s sad to see...."

“For the last few years since the ‘Reign of Darkness’ video came out, the only thing we’ve all been obsessed with was having fire in our next clip,” comments guitarist Andy Marsh. “With a title like ‘Light Bearer’, it all came together thematically and our friends at Ambitious Films understood our vision and helped make it a reality. We are so excited to bring you guys new music and a new video. Rejoice, the day of Satan and man is upon us.” More...

Thy Art Is Murder today reveals the original uncensored cover artwork for upcoming release, "Holy War."
“We wanted 'Holy War' to be our most confronting release to date,” explains guitarist Andy Marsh.
“From the moment the album title was conceived and the lyrics were born we had a distinct vision that the album cover artwork must be equally as confronting, as scary, and as real as what we are about as a band. Unfortunately after circulating our intended album cover around to the distributors and retailers, and after several meetings with the label and those we all work with, we were told we would have to cover the image, or choose a different cover. Not wanting to alter our desired cover in any way shape or form, we opted to contain it within the album packaging and roll with one of the other images from the layout.
“Here it is in all its magnificent glory, a child for every religion that has indoctrinated the young and disadvantaged, and sent them off to war and bloody death without cause or reason. This album is for them.” More...
Australia’s incendiary extreme musical export Thy Art Is Murder just announced the upcoming European tour titled "The Australian Takeover." The band will be supported by Australian label mates Aversions Crown, who released Nuclear Blast debut "Tyrant" in November 2014.
Thy Art Is Murder comments: "As Emmure had to cancel their upcoming European tour due to illness, a lot of fans were asking what happened to the rest of the bands. A few things led to another and all of a sudden the rest of the package couldn't do the tour.
"Not wanting to let you guys down we worked tirelessly with our agent to bring you a tour. A headline tour. And the final European tour of the Hate album cycle. And we're bringing some friends. We are happy and proud to announce our good friends from Australia, Aversions Crown, Feed Her To The Sharks, and Earth Rot will be joining us on this exciting excursion. Our amazing agent still has a lot of work to do to pull the dates together for announcement but get excited for this last minute run of Australian metal before 'Holy War' is released!"

1. Absolute Genocide
2. Light Bearer
3. Holy War
4. Coffin Dragger
5. Fur And Claw
6. Deliver Us To Evil
8. Violent Reckoning
9. Child Of Sorrow
10. Naked And Cold

Guitarist Andrew Marsh recently explained the origins of the new album and its title: “Finally the cat is out of the bag! Late last year, we entered the studio in secret to create our follow up to Hate, free of expectation and public pressure. What we came out with was a reaction to things going on around the world that crawl under our skin, that make us feel sick to be alive.
"Musically it is darker, faster and more technical than anything we've done in the past and it hits hard lyrically. We wrote about concerns of ours, real issues, hardships that people are facing around the world today. Of course it wouldn't be a Thy Art record if a lot of those affairs weren't rooted in religion somehow, and what better way to sum up the state of all things than by entitling our album - 'Holy War.'
"This is our war on racism, homophobia, child abuse, animal cruelty and all evil born of religious immunity, indoctrination, and ignorance. It is ultimately a push for secularism and humanism. Without it, we will be left in the hands of mad men.” More...
Following torn vocal chord issues that occurred with front man Frankie Palmeri back in February, Emmure is now cancelling upcoming tour dates. The band commetns:
"Due to unfortunate circumstances, we must cancel our upcoming EU/UK touring plans with Caliban, Thy Art Is Murder and Sworn In due to Frankie’s still yet to be determined healing process. He has severe acute and chronic reflux laryngitis and a weak (partially paralyzed) left vocal cord.
"We appreciate the support we received on the last tour with Suicide Silence in Frankie’s absence, at this time we are going to put our focus towards writing a new album while he recovers and we hope to see you all very soon."

Summer Slaughter came in to the same venue, Scoot Inn, as last year's stop off at Texas' capital city. The mid-July temperatures reached a scorching 99 degrees, which everyone from fans to bands did their best to stay hydrated (kudos to Scoot Inn for providing water). Keep in mind, this was still a good 5 degrees cooler than last year.
In regards to the lineup, Summer Slaughter 2014 featured artists expected from a death metal-based tour. This year the brutality of Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, Origin and Decrepit Birth replaced the shredding progression of Animals As Leaders and Periphery.
While death metal was at the forefront of this year's festivities, complex timing and long-winded solos were dispersed throughout the bill. Memories In Broken Glass, this year's battle of the bands winner, concentrated less on guitar solos as they did low tuned, (7 or 8-string guitar) jumping rhythms and samples. I'm sure they were happy to have played a showed promoted by Come And Take It Productions as they played in front of an impressive, jumping early crowd. More...
