After announcing plans to call it quits this year, Irish metal band Twisted Wrath has now issued this final year-end message to fans:
"So, 2016 is coming to an end, and this year, Twisted Wrath came to an end - 9 years after that first jam between Colin and I that started the whole thing... 6 years after David joined the band, upping the whole thing several notches.
"I'm very proud of what the band achieved in it's many forms over the years. We didn't set the world on fire, or anything like that, but we got travel around the country, meeting great people, promoters, bands, etc.
"We got to make music, something that I would never have thought possible that first time I picked up a guitar and tried (failed) to play Metallica's 'For Whom The Bell Tolls.' We made 4-5 EPs - the latter 3 people know the most. It was amazing to see that so many people were happy to part with their hard-earned cash to buy the music we had put so much effort into.
"We got support some of our favourite bands/heroes. Anthrax in The Academy in 2014 felt like a real achievement... one of those 'if my 10 yr old self could see me now' moments. Schenker, UFO, Exodus - such cool memories. Thanks for any and all support over the years, no matter how small." More...
Following the release of the "Jackals" EP (available for streaming below), Twisted Wrath is calling it quits. The band comments:
"After nearly 9 years since its original incarnation, Twisted Wrath is coming to an end. Each of us will move on to different things and we all part on good terms as great friends.
"Colin, David and I are happy to have put out some great songs and play with some phenomenal local bands, as well as getting the chance to share the stage with legends like Anthrax, UFO, Exodus and Michael Schenker.
"Thanks to all who, over the years, have supported us, bought t-shirts and CDs or spent their hard-earned and precious cash to come to see us play. Our final three gigs will be Diamond Head this coming week in Dublin (Fibbers Sept. 22nd), Limerick (Dolans Sept. 24th) and Dublin again (Fibbers Oct. 22nd). Thanks to you all." More...
Twisted Wrath has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's bass player:
"It is with great sadness that we announce the departure of Twisted Wrath bassist, Niall McGuinness.
"Niall has been an integral part of the writing process on both our last release, 'Madman's Chorus,' and on the new material for our upcoming album, as well as sharing the stage with us supporting bands such as Anthrax, Michael Schenker Group, Exodus and Hell.
"But after careful consideration, Niall has come to the conclusion that it would best for both himself and the band if he was to step back.
"Niall was not just a band mate, but is also a best friend, and we wish him the best in his future musical endeavours and thank him for bringing such professionalism and unmatchable musicianship to the band for over 2 years." More...

Irish heavy metal band REBORN recently recorded their new EP, "Hath Fury," in Lubeck, Germany at LSD Studios. It was recorded/mixed/mastered by Lasse Lammert (Alestorm, Halcyon Way, etc).
The band commented: "It was a huge experience for us, had a great time over there and some craic was had! Lasse is a top producer and a very nice lad to work with. Id recommend him for anyone thinking about going abroad to record. Hes 100% focused on the band hes working with and wont get lazy and give up until he gets the best of you."
The band has posted the EP up on their Bandcamp page for free download here.
The band will have hard copies pressed (with artwork was done by Tom Cunningham) and available at their gigs.
