Background

Abandon All Ships are a Canadian dancecore/metalcore/avant-garde act from Toronto, Ontario, Canada formed in 2006. The group is currently signed to Underground Operations - Rise Records, and are the first band to be signed to Velocity Records.

Abandon All Ships are famous for their discovery on the mostly pop oriented Canadian talent search show DisBAND. Their episode was featured in season 2 of the program and were hailed by the judges as being "the freshest thing that they ever heard".

Abandon All Ships combine traditional metalcore, with clean singing choruses, R&B auto-tune sections and Euro-Dance melodies.

The Browning Cancels Tour Dates

Electro-metal outfit The Browning has issued the following announcement about canceling live shows due to tour mates Abandon All Ships experiencing vehicle problems:

"Unfortunately our shows in Mesa, San Diego, and Anaheim are no longer happening this weekend. Abandon All Ships van broke down in Texas, so promoters canceled the shows and refunded tickets, which leaves us to go directly to Las Vegas for Sunday's show.

"This really bums us out, but our next tour with Upon This Dawning starts in these markets this April! We hope you'll wait for us. We miss AZ & CA a lot."

Asking Alexandria To Headline South By So What?!

As Third String Productions enters a 7th year of promoting festivals in North Texas, the organization has teamed up with Sumerian Records to present the 2011 South By So What?! music festival. South By So What?! began in 2007 as a multi-stage music festival showcasing the majority of the all-ages bands that would be making the trek to SXSW. This year's festival will be held at The Palladium Ballroom in Dallas, TX on Saturday, March 19th and headlined by Sumerian artist Asking Alexandria.
