Dead Horse Trauma To Play Stone Sour Release Show

On October 28th, 2012 Stone Sour will be hosting an intimate release party for latest CD "House of Gold and Bones Part 1" at Wooly’s in downtown Des Moines, IA. Stone Sour has chosen to reach out to fellow Des Moines band Dead Horse Trauma to kick off the festivities.

Dead Horse Trauma has been touring the Midwest promoting the band's most recent release “Tellus Hodiernus Caducus” (reviewed here) and was featured on Lazer 103.3’s annual Lazerfest Events in both 2010 and 2012. The band made the announcement about opening Stone Sour's release event while on stage during an opening gig for Hed P.E. on October 17th. The following press release was issued about the currently unsigned act:

"Hailing from Des Moines, Iowa, Dead Horse Trauma is a regime of 5 men. The group showcases a unique, militant, well-articulated metal sound. Its plague-like pandemic of die-hard fans and nationally recognized achievements are only rivaled by the insane energy-packed live shows showering the region.

"Since the band’s conception in 2006, Dead Horse Trauma has worked persistently and the hard work shows through their many accomplishments. Dead Horse Trauma dominated Lazer103.3’s LazerFest Battle of the Bands with the majority of 9000 votes and aggressively took 1st place allowing them to take part in Iowa’s largest music event in history. Along with their new album THC being sold in Hot Topics nationwide, the band has been featured in magazines and publications such as Revolver, Hollywood Music Magazine, Juice, CityView, Lyric X-press, and continues to gather attention from all over the world."

The Rockstar Ramblings: Guns N’ Corn

KISS members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are planning to collaborate on a memoir. Is it already assumed the first and last chapters will be “Gene” chapters?...

Alice Cooper has been asked to help design Universal Studios Halloween maze. For a rocker that has always used fright and horror as a back drop it looks like Cooper has been typecast with this project. Three years from now Alice will be receiving calls to go to Iowa and design corn mazes…

The medical mystery man Ozzy Osbourne recently lost his two front bottom teeth (crowns). With a show only days away, Ozzy frantically looked for a dentist to fix his mouth. I realize we are five months away from Christmas, but I already know what Ozzy wants…

A fan with a “professional” style camcorder got a surprise when Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue) went into the crowd to have him removed. Unfortunately from the video you are unable to see if there is in fact a camera or Sixx spotted on of Kat Von D’s new boyfriends. Either way Nikki might consider some additional insurance should he continue to jump into crowds at his age… More...

Stone Sour Posts Drum Cam Footage Online

Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga has uploaded new drum cam footage of him performing the song "Digital (Did You Tell)" from the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar tour.

Roy Mayorga commented on the video by saying:

"This video was made by Arejay Hale (drummer for Halestorm) I thought this was so cool that He took the time and went out of his way to make this. I had no idea he was behind me filming this show until a few days ago. This was from the Uproar tour we did together over the Summer. "Arejay you sneaky bastard I love you" Anyway you hear the original studio track in and out of this video though Arejay did his best to sync it up for refference.....kind of a rough process to do only because We play the song a bit faster live. But this video will show you exactly how to play the song 'Digital'."
