Resist The Thought Seeking New Drummer

Sydney metal band Resist The Thought has announced that their drummer, Jake Calleja, is no longer with the band and they are seeking a replacement. Here's the update directly from the band:

"Due to personal reasons, Jake Calleja is no longer a member of Resist The Thought. The news came as a shock to all of us, as Jake has been our drummer and best mate since the band formed. To be honest, we are all pretty upset about it, but this will not stop the band from touring and writing music!

"Jakes last show with the band will be at Campbelltown PCYC, June 18th with Sienna Skies. We will not be pulling out of any shows after this date (July 2nd Metalfest w/The Red Shore + The Thy Art Is Murder Sydney Dates - TBA) as we have a few mates to full in the position temporarily.

"This means we are looking for a new drummer. If you are interested- please send us an email @ resistthethought@hotmail.com.

"Before you email us, please ensure you match the criteria below:
1. You can actually play the songs (new and old) fluently and confidently
2. Able to tour (we have interstate shows coming up)
3. Able to travel to South West Sydney for band practice.
4. Own GOOD gear (we have triggers/sample pad but you need a good sounding kit!)
5. Previous recording/touring experience is definately prefered.

"If you match this criteria, please email the following details to resistthethought@hotmail.com.
1. Name
2. Age
3. Recording/Touring experience?
+ anything you think you should add."

Resist The Thought Announces New Album Release

Sydney five-piece metal outfit Resist The Thought has announced May 7th, 2010, as the release date for "Damnation," the band's follow up to the 2008 EP "The Gift of Sacrifice." Formed in 2007, Resist The Thought blends crushing breakdowns with fast paced technical riffs to create their own brand modern metal. The new album should be no exception, with guitarist Tim Aaron commenting, "We really pushed ourselves in creating this record. We took six months off touring and just focused on writing and demoing. From the start, we had the intention of making a timeless record we are all proud of."

The title of the album, "Damnation," sets the theme for the record which revolves around the idea that humankind will be responsible for their own destruction. Through constant touring, the band has earned themselves a reputation as one of Sydney’s up and coming metal bands.

"Damnation" is in stores Friday May 7th, 2010 in Australia through New Justice Records. In the meantime, check out some of their music on the band's MySpace player.
