Florida's Seven Kingdoms has announced the band's new album "The Fire is Mine" is coming this October 9th, 2012 via Nightmare Records. A preview of the album cover's artwork is available below, and more info on Seven Kingdoms can be found via Facebook here.
Florida-based Seven Kingdoms is getting ready to enter Morrisound studios in Tampa, Florida with producer Jim Morris (Iced Earth) to begin recording the follow-up to the band's 2010 self-titled Nightmare Records release. The 11 track album is still untitled, and more info is expected to be released shortly.
Guitarist Camden Cruz commented on the writing process for the new album:
"Fans can expect a more dynamic SEVEN KINGDOMS this time around. We have spent the greater part of a year transposing what we have learned into this new record. It has been since the middle of 2009 since we have written anything together and I really believe that you will hear three more years of experience on this album. It is overall a little bit faster, but not in a thrashy way; it is more in the vein of older school power metal that sometimes seems to be overlooked now days. We have been able to shape something in our 'sound' that will set us apart from our forefathers while still being true to the genre. Expect a twin turbo version of our self titled release. The record is the most challenging material we have physically played to date and it has a lot of guitar work on it. Sabrina has even become more herself with this record as we have all grown as musicians. We aim to bring a polished version of what a Modern Day Power Metal Band should sound like. This should be a record that everyone can enjoy from the brand new listener to the most diehard Power Metal fan with more hooks, more shred, more epicness, More In your face double bass, more literal bass, Just more POWER."
Coinciding with entering the studio, the band has just finished filming its very first official video clip for the new record's opener, "After The Fall." The band's first pro video clip, the story is based on George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones, which is also the story which the band's name is based on. Ironically, the same type of cameras used for filming the HBO show were also used for the band's video. More...

After I bought my ticket to the Sacred Worlds and Songs Divine Tour I realized I had never seen Blind Guardian play live, which in turn sparked some questions: would I have to recite Gimli’s entire family tree to get my ticket from will call? Would the audience be acting out the grand tales Blind Guardian spins in real-time? Would I need a suit of armor? A battle axe? Should I ride my war horse or would my lighter travelling mare be better suited to the evening? Fortunately all my questions would be answered by the great bards…
I arrived just as opening act Seven Kingdoms was getting rolling. Hailing from Orlando, Florida these power and speed metal troubadours have the chops and desire to be quite good, even though silky vocalist Sabrina V could use a couple semesters in the Angela Gossow School of Stage Presence for Women. The songs ranged from overwrought to outstanding; set closer “Seven Kingdoms” was the standout as the eponymous tune was Maiden-meets-Yngwie-meets-Doro fun, and Seven Kingdoms was warmly appreciated by the already full house.
