Seven Kingdoms Premieres "Kingslayer" Video Clip

Florida's Seven Kingdoms is about to power-metalize the ass of the globe on Friday, May 5th with the release of "Decennium," the band's Napalm Records debut and fourth full length studio album. Pre-orders can be made at this location.

To celebrate the coming album's release along with a North American tour with Evergrey, Need and Ascendia, the band teamed up with Metal Underground.com for the release of the video clip for "Kingslayer."

The band commented on the song: "'Kingslayer' is a song about Jaime Lannister's betrayal of his oath, which earned him that very nickname across the Seven Kingdoms. The Mad King was ready to blow up all of Kings Landing with stocks of wildfire hidden under the streets, rather than face defeat to Robert's rebellion. Having already seen enough atrocities committed by the king, Jaime could not stand by any longer with the lives of the entire city at stake. He murdered the Mad King, the one his life was sworn to protect. Instead of becoming a hero, this betrayal would be how history remembered Jaime Lannister.”

The track listing for "Decennium" is:

1. Stargazer (see lyric video)
2. Undying
3. In The Walls (see lyric video here)
4. The Tale Of Deathface Ginny
5. Castles In The Snow
6. Kingslayer
7. The Faceless Hero
8. Neverending (see video clip here)
9. Hollow
10. Awakened From Nothing
11. In The Walls (EP Master) (Bonus Track)
12. Undying (EP Master) (Bonus Track)
13. The Bloody Meadow (Re-Recording) (Bonus Track)
14. Stormborn (Re-Recording) (Bonus Track)

Seven Kingdoms Inks Deal With Napalm

Hailing from Florida, the power metal five-piece Seven Kingdoms has been working its way up since forming in 2007. After numerous tours around USA and Canada, as well as three studio albums, Seven Kingdoms is now ready to take the next step and join forces with Napalm Records.

The label comments: "A band started for fun found that hard work and dedication to the craft has major pay offs... Seven Kingdoms is carving its own path in metal history creating something genuinely unique, yet undeniably power metal!"

Seven Kingdoms adds: "We are really happy to announce that we signed a deal with Napalm Records! We were able to pinpoint a deal that will help the band reach many more fans at home and overseas. Along with the newest album Decennium and the In The Walls EP, Napalm will also be repressing our earlier albums, 'Brothers Of The Night,' the self-titled, and 'The Fire Is Mine.'

"Bands such as Hammerfall, Kamelot, Delain, Powerwolf and Devildriver have made this label home and we are again, just very happy to join those ranks. Napalm has been an undeniable tool in many bigger artist's careers. Thomas and the gang have been really receptive to the material and we are looking forward to getting the band on the next level with the help of Napalm Records."

Upcoming album "Decennium" will be released worldwide via Napalm Records and is already scheduled for a 2017 release. The band will also be out supporting Evergrey in May and June this year on a massive USA and Canadian tour. More...

America's Secret Metal Paradise

Most of us in metal love to complain about trolling, irrational vitriol, subgenre tribalism, and elitism online. Not to mention the fact that most of said complaining also takes place online.

It’s like plugging the cord of a power strip into the strip itself and expecting it to produce juice. No wonder nothing positive ever seems to get accomplished.

So how do we fix this?

Well, we can’t. At least we can’t fix others. We can, however, control ourselves and try new things from time to time. And when considering just how ridiculously much time we spend drooling in front of our screens, the simple act of attending live music concerts is indeed a “new thing,” or at least a relatively seldom thing. Sort of like shutting off Facebook and actually writing your best friend a letter.

But don’t the same issues manifest in our local clubs? A package tour comes to town, containing bands with separate (or, at best, overlapping) fanbases, which promptly begin to work against each other. Show me such a concert that isn’t brimming with guys judging each other’s perceived tastes, putting on airs by boasting “I’m only here for [insert obscure opener],” and I’ll show you my fourth nipple.

How about major European-style summer festivals? Don’t get me started. Don’t get me wrong, either; they’re ten tons of fun. But often the numbers are too immense for any type of bonding to occur on a mass scale. Crowds usually just devolve into cliques, all corresponding to their chosen favorite acts.

So there needs to be a middle ground. A unique event, rare and special enough to draw the enthusiastic, but familiar enough to include the curious. Small and precarious enough to forestall any jaded complacency, and large enough to foster a carnival atmosphere.

The musical equivalent of a big group of friends around a campfire, bonded not only by the fun they’re sharing, but also by the knowledge that one bad attitude will douse the good time in cold water.

For me, the DeLand Rock & Metal Festival was that event. And for the moment, it has alleviated some of my cynicism over the much-ballyhooed “brotherhood and sisterhood” concepts thrown around in metal.

Here, in central Florida, from November 7th through the 9th, these bonds were very much alive.
