Jersey metal outfit Fit For An Autopsy has announced a new batch of co-headlining tour dates with Aborted. Archspire and label-mates Dark Sermon are set to open the bill.
Fit For An Autopsy is also putting the finishing touches on an all new, yet-to-be titled LP due out later this year. "The new album is a bit of a step in a new direction for the band," says guitarist Pat Sheridan. "It feels really intense."
The band will set up camp at The Machine Shop in New Jersey with guitar player and renowned producer Will Putney at the helm. The new effort will be the follow "Hellbound," released in 2013. The biggest change since then has been the band's vocalist: after the departure of Nate Johnson earlier last year, Greg Wilburn (Oblige) briefly filled in so the band could carry out touring plans. Just before the band entered The Machine Shop, Fit For An Autopsy brought in Joe Badolato (Diamond Cutter) as the brand new full-time vocalist.
"We found Joe at a perfect time," says guitarist Will Putney. "We had just come off months of touring with a vocalist we knew wasn't built to handle the lifestyle and stresses that come with being in a full-time band." Badolato's first show with the band was at The Brooklyn Asylum in Brooklyn, NY. More...

The Eindhoven Metal Meeting organization has announced that due to scheduling issues Onslaught has cancelled the band's previously planned performance at the festival.
Recently reunited U.K. thrashers Xentrix will replace Onslaught on Saturday December 13th, 2014.
Xentrix has released four albums through Roadrunner Records: 1989’s "Shattered Existence," 1990’s "For Whose Advantage," 1991’s "Dilute to Taste," and 1992’s "Kin." Heavy Metal Records also released a 1996 LP called "Scourge."
The currently announced lineup for Eindhoven Metal Meeting 2014 is as follows: More...
The West Coast gore hounds in Exhumed will take to the streets this Fall on another rash of live incursions with extreme metal technicians Carcass and manic death thrashers Noisem.
Slated to kick off on October 24th in San Diego, the Inked In Steel Tour 2014 will trample nearly two dozen cities with additional sonic devourment from death metal legends Obituary and Macabre on select dates.
From there the band will march overseas for more onstage devastation with Aborted, Origin, and Miasmal. See confirmed shows below.
Comments Exhumed's Matt Harvey: "We've been enjoying a rare few months of quiet in the Exumed camp, but we're finally emerging from the death metal equivalent of cryo-sleep to make some noise again. We're totally psyched to be back out amongst all you mutants and maniacs again for some beers, laughs and our usual brand of heavy metal mayhem. It'll be great to worm our way back into your little black hearts. We couldn't ask for a better tour package than with Carcass and Obituary, and our solo dates will allow us to unleash a full spectrum of stuff onstage - more songs, more production, more Marshall cabinets. It's gonna be a blast (beat). See you fuckers there! Bring beer!" More...

It appears the Brutal Fest has been cancelled, with several bands posting messages online stating the event is cancelled and they weren't ever paid. A sampling of posts can be seen below.
Dawn of Demise: "Brutal Fest has been cancelled. The promoter is a lying bastard cuntfuck idiot loser who has stolen peoples money and so on. Aborted and Aeon have also cancelled, and if you look at their updates you can see that they also are pretty pissed..."
Aborted: "Due to the unprofessional and fraudulent acts of the promoter of brutal fest. Aborted officially cancel our appearance at this event. We hope the promoter gets what he deserves and everyone who bought tickets get their money back. See you all in Aarschot with Exhumed and Origin this November instead!"
Aeon: "Due to an unprofessional and fraudulent act of the promotor AeoN is canceling the show at Brutal Fest in Hasselt. We really hope that everyone who has bought a ticket will get the money back. See you all on the Cannibal Corpse tour."
The festival's official Facebook profile was recently updated with the following message:
"Dear [eople, as you have heard recently Brutal Fest 2014 will be cancelled.
"I can't continue any longer with this event due medical reasons and that's probably the main reason for the cancellation.
"There are a lot of speculations / gossip / lies said the last days in the social media but also in the newspapers. It doesn't mean that something is written in a newspaper that it is automatically true.
"Tickets: We received some messages about tickets that where never arrived. People who bought a ticket normally received a mail with more information about a cash back.
"We (I am) (are) sincerely sorry for the mistakes that were made. People with questions can send a mail to:firstname.lastname@example.org." More...

The final bands have now been announced for this year's edition of the Bloodstock Festival, which takes place from August 7th - 10th (get ticket info and other details over here). The organizers of the festival comment:
"The ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ finals have rocked to a conclusion and some more lucky young bands are joining the New Blood stage at Catton Park next month, plus there's a few last additions for the Sophie and Jagermeister stages.
"Balls Deep bring their trad groove metal to the Sophie Lancaster stage. The Brit outfit have been busy honing their ‘Pro-Pain cut with Black Sabbath’ sound, coming on like the bastard sons of Pantera and classic heavy metal.
"Over on the Jagermeister stage, female-fronted power metallers Aceldama will be impressing allcomers with their high octane performance and audience interaction, while New Blood stage stoner rocker’s Resin will be offering an additional acoustic spin on their new material.
"Meanwhile, the New Blood stage welcomes the last clutch of winners from the last batch of M2TM roadshow finals. Goat Leaf bring their doom groove from the Sheffield heats, Oakhaart’s tech death noise hails from Gloucestershire, impressing judges at the Bristol event, Sinpathetic grace us with their death metal from the Preston night, Eradikator’s thrash metal won out in Birmingham, and lastly but not least, Cacodaemonic's unholy, neo-classical infused death metal represents Nottingham."

Aborted will return to the European club stages in November/December, teaming up with Origin, Exumed, as well as label mates Miasmal for the "Hell over Europe" tour. Catch Aborted live on these dates: More...
The work of JRR Tolkien has long been a favorite muse of rock and metal artists. This year's Bloodstock bands Megadeth, Amon Amarth, and Dimmu Borgir all have used Tolkien references in their work, along with many others (Nightwish, Gorgoroth and even the likes of Led Zeppelin to name but a few).
Now Bloodstock’s co-founder, fantasy artist Paul Raymond Gregory, is thrilled to bring the two themes together and launch a major art exhibition at Bloodstock this year.
Christened the Rock and Metal (RAM) Gallery, the exhibition is to be a permanent addition to the festival and will provide a showcase for a changing selection of rock-related art and memorabilia. Paul Raymond Gregory’s extensive body of work includes many famous album sleeves and monolithic pieces inspired by the writings of JRR Tolkien. Paul’s first ever album cover commission was in 1984 for Saxon’s "Crusader," so launching the RAM Gallery on the 30th anniversary of Paul’s artistic debut in the metal world is fitting indeed.
This year’s first showing will include all the original Bloodstock festival artwork, going right back to the first indoor event in 2001, plus a wide range of Paul’s album art including the sleeve of Saxon’s latest release "Sacrifice." Representing Paul’s Tolkien work, there will also be a large triptych inspired by The Silmarillion opus (from whence Marillion derived its name). The painting will be mounted in a bespoke hand-carved frame created by framer John Davis. Although John has framed much of Paul’s other work, the triptych features the first frame actually designed by Paul himself. In addition, Paul will be signing copies of his book "Beyond Time And Place," which showcases artwork from the breadth of his career.
The exhibition will also include a small selection of bespoke handmade guitars created by young artist/musician Cynosure who is working to re-define the guitar, not just as a functional instrument, but as a working, playable piece of art.

The organizers of the Bloodstock Festival have checked in with the following update about confirming more bands for the 2014 edition:
"Things are hotting up at Bloodstock HQ and even more bands are unveiled for 2014!! Joining the main stage bill are the newly renamed, Entombed A.D. After having to change their name from just ‘Entombed’, LG Petrov and his fellow band members are once again ready to let the music do the talking after a year of internal struggles. They release the highly anticipated new album ‘Back to the Front’ on 4th August via Century Media and are eager to get back on the road.
"Getting the heads banging on the Sophie stage on Thursday are British trad metalheads Monument, and bringing their own brand of theatrical madness and extreme metal are former ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ winners, Gethika. Bringing an international flavour on Sunday are death/thrash metallers Krow, who hail all the way from Brazil. Fancy something a little different? Then check out 16-yr old blues star in the making Aaron Keylock, also performing on Sunday’s Sophie stage.
"Not content with that, Bloodstock can also reveal six killer bands for the Jagermeister stage! Grab a couple Jagerbombs and come headbang to Undersmile and King Creature on Friday, plus Massive Wagons and a special acoustic set from Orphaned Land on Saturday. If you’re still standing come Sunday, be sure to catch Rabid Bitch of the North and The Heretic Order."
Iconic death metal outfit Origin will return to Europe for a 31 date tour throughout 15 countries in September and November. Side to side with Aborted, Exhumed and Miasmal, the U.S. metal giants will invade The Old Continent for the first time since 2012's crusade with Suffocation. The band commented:
"Some bands are just made to tour together! This November, Origin has the pleasure of going out with two bands that we have toured with in the past, Aborted and Exhumed. It's always a treat for any band to link up with old friends that they have shared the road with…as long as it was a good time! We have had great times on the road with both bands. Aborted, 2 years ago, and Exhumed wayyyyyy back 14 years ago! All on one bus, one big mess of psychopaths howling at the moon! If the bands are getting along and having a good time, then the shows for the friends and fans are going to be that much more ripping. This tour is going to positively melt faces. I've heard people say 'Hell, I'm over Europe' .....but not me, because this is HELL OVER EUROPE! With Exhumed and Aborted!"
The Hell Over Europe tour will kick off on the 20th of September in Nurnberg, Germany. Detailed tour dates can be found below.
Origin's upcoming 6th album, "Omnipresent," is set to be released on July 4th in Europe via Agonia Records (July 8th in North America via Nuclear Blast). More...

The Belgian death metal psychopaths in Aborted will release their eighth full-length, "The Necrotic Manifesto," tomorrow. After smashing through the states on tour with Kataklysm the band is now on tour in Mexico and will head to Australia in June!
In celebration of the album's impending release, you can now hear the full album below, courtesy of No Clean Singing.
Vocalist Sven de Caluwé had this to say about the album: "It is with great pleasure and pride that we announce that the release of the new Aborted album is finally upon us! The synergy and coherence in the band hasn't been this strong since Goremageddon and we truly believe that we are about to release some of our best material to date.
"Those of you whom witnessed the live onslaught throughout our North American tour with Kataklysm and our headlining dates with Pyrexia have already experienced some of the brutality held within The Necrotic Manifesto, but have no fear, the rest of you are in store for the same onslaught as we come to your town near you throughout the rest of 2014! Then, on top of everything else, we are excited to be releasing something truly unique and dare we say, never done before by a band!!
"We have created our own adventure card game and we can't wait for people to sit back, throw on the album and play the game with their closest Death Metal compatriots! So, needless to say, this is an exciting time for us and we cannot wait to have you all enjoy our tales of depravity as told in The Necrotic Manifesto, so pick up your slab today and remember, keep it death metal!!!"
