Slash has announced that he, in association with Scout Productions (of films Transsiberian and Fog Of War) has started his own production company called Slasher Films. Their first project, Nothing To Fear, is already underway. The horror/thriller will follow a family as it looks for a big change by moving to a small town in rural Kansas only to encounter an ancient demon with an insatiable blood lust. The screenplay was written by Jonathan W.C. Mills.
Slasher Films plans to produce contemporary horror films with a nod to the thrillers of the 70's and 80's. "I've always been a huge horror fan and creating films that take you back to the days where horror movies actually scared the hell out of you is something I've always wanted to do. My audience is made up of young, edgy, discerning consumers, with an appetite for quality and a hint of anarchy," explains Slash.

In a recent interview with MTV News, iconic guitarist Slash discussed the future of Velvet Revolver, the band he formed seven years ago with fellow former Guns N Roses members Duff McKagen and Matt Sorum.
"As soon as we got off the road from the last tour and parted ways with Scott, we got together and wrote half a dozen really great, sort of heavy metal pieces of music," Slash told MTV News. "It's a lot heavier than what Velvet Revolver has put out, so I'm dying to put out the quintessential Velvet Revolver record.
Slash said the new material better matches the group's original intentions. "When Duff and Matt and I first got together, we wrote a ton of material that never saw the light of day, and that was all very heavy.
"It's definitely our natural way of doing things. But when we started working with Scott, we started to lighten things up a lot, and we progressively got lighter. As much as I love the two records we did do, one of the things that was progressively more and more frustrating was the direction the band took."
