Nightfall Posts "Stellar Parallax" Video

Nightfall has released a new music video for "Stellar Parallax," taken off the band's "Cassiopeia" album, available now through Metal Blade. Nightfall also comments:

"Stellar Parallax is yet another song inspired by astronomy. Symbolically the title refers to the different point of views people have and fight over.

"Understanding the true reasons someone's opinion is not identical to yours relieves you from the obnoxious feeling of disrespect and hate you may feel out of believing the other side is simply trying to deceive you."

Nightfall Reveals New Album Details

Greek symphonic metallers Nightfall have launched a landing page featuring the artwork and a new song off their upcoming new album "Cassiopeia." Surf over to this location to check out the pre-order possibilities and the lyric video for "Oberon & Titania."

Singer Efthimis Karadimas comments regarding the concept of the album: "Cassiopeia has a specific thesis and though its name is linked to both the constellation and the mythical character of Andromeda's mother, it refers to arrogance as leading characteristic of the human race; the outcome of this and the overweening state of affairs are so popular these harsh days everywhere. The entire world seems to be shifting from its previous position to a new one and all and each one of us that used to feel like masters of our destiny are now starting to wonder about when, where and how this transition will end. It may be a punishment like Cassiopeia and Andromeda who claimed themselves more beautiful even to nereids suffered, or it may be just another change. Time will certainly tell."

Efthimis also stated about the "Oberon & Titania" track: "The song is based on Shakespeare's A Midsummer's Night Dream couple; He is the king of fairies and She is the fairy queen. Despite their apparent close relationship, they end up forcefully using their powers and skills against each other; like maniacs blinded by light of passion and haughtiness they drag themselves to the lowest dungeons of nature. It is the ceaseless passion between two beings; passion that unites before it destroys anything around it once unleashed. It is true we are nothing when it comes to sustaining our gratefulness in front of desire. We are born broken in a dilute world poets' admiration cannot disguise. And none can break the broken."

"Cassiopeia" will be released the 18th of January, 2013 via Metal Blade Records in Europe. The recordings for "Cassiopeia" took place in four different places, something Nightfall is quite familiar with. Vocals and keys were recorded in Greece (Soundflakes studios & Cyberia) while the drums got hammered down in Germany in the Soundlodge studios. Guitars and bass were recorded in the U.S. in Nashville, Tennessee in the Boomcave studios. More...

Nightfall Finishes Work On New Album

Greek symphonic metallers Nightall have completed work for their new album, "Cassiopeia," which is set for release in January 2013 through Metal Blade Records. The label comments:

"The recordings took place in four different places, a fragment process that which Nightfall is quite familiar with. Vocals and keys were recorded in Greece (Soundflakes studios & Cyberia) while the drums were tracked in Germany in the Soundlodge studios. Guitars and bass were recorded in the U.S. in Nashville, Tennessee at Boomcave studios.

"More than on the previous album, Astron Black & The Thirty Tyrants, in Cassiopeia the spirit of old school heavy metal lurks in almost every riff. Unlike Astron Black, there are more fast tempos as well as grindy ones bringing memories back from the mid 90's times of now cult release Athenian Echoes. The vocals remain very, very heavy and, thanks to Soundflakes amazing gear and Jörg Uken's super mixing skills, fit great with the melodic leads, moreover creating a solid wall of sound where vocalist Efthimis comfortably sits and spreads his inner daemons out to the world! Primal Fear Guitarist Karlsson To Miss Tour

German power metal band Primal Fear announced that guitarist Magnus Karlsson will be temporarily absent from the upcoming Metal Nation Tour due to family obligations. The band has recruited Mystic Prophecy guitarist Constantine (also with Constantine & Nightfall) (seen below).

The following was posted on the band's Facebook page:

On a less happy note we need to announce that Magnus will be temporarily absent from the forthcoming live shows due to family obligations. Don't ask reg. the matter, this is serious and very private - Bottom Line!

It's tough for us to replace Magnus on the next shows as a guitarist, but it's even harder to replace his wonderful character. We've searched for the last couple of days for the best possible substitute and decided to recruit Constantine - a 24 year old phenomenal talent from Greece. Check out his FB page and his songs and give him a warm welcome. After the current rehearsals we're sure he will NOT disappoint!

CU on tour - Unbreakable!

Nightfall Posts "Astron Black" Video

Nightfall has released the video clip for the title track of the band's latest album "Astron Black," which can be viewed below.

Comments director Achilleas Gatsopoulos: "We decided not to go safe and continue with the shadow puppet approach for the second video too, even though there is still a lot of space for experimentation within that. Instead, I came up with an entirely different style that would add yet another facet to the complex task of visualising Nightfall's music.

"Working with the lyrics and with Efthimis conceptual guidance, I set up a vast backdrop of space and time for our characters to inhabit, incorporating various planetary and astronomical elements. The characters include mythical deities such as Gaia, Prometheus, Venus / Pandora, as well as Astron Black, who symbolises mankind and its progress through time.

"The video also incorporates Pandora's myth from Hesiod's Theogony. Gaia gives birth to stars and deities, to Prometheus. Prometheus stole the fire (also a metaphor for knowledge and practical thought) and gave it to man. Zeus punished Prometheus by binding him to a rock where the great eagle would come and eat his intestines every day. As an act of revenge on mankind, he creates Pandora, the first woman. Here we present Venus Pandora, who also posseses the power of sexual desire over man. Her curiosity proves fatal, as she opens the urn bestowed to her by the Gods, unleashing all evils upon mankind, leaving only hope inside.

"The style of the video brings together various elements such as stylish costumes, live action footage and CGI, adding a modern approach to the ancient but timeless imagery of our characters and situations. I truly believe that once again we managed to successfully recreate and enhance the lyrical and musical themes and create something unique that will stand the test of time stylistically."

Here we have director's introductory comments to guide you through the story. We are looking forward your cerebral pleasure once more."

The director of the clip also gave the following statement:

"We decided not to go safe and continue with the shadow puppet approach for the second video too, even though there is still a lot of space for experimentation within that. Instead, I came up with an entirely different style that would add yet another facet to the complex task of visualising Nightfall's music.

Nightfall Issues Music Video Update

Nightfall has issued the following update about the band's upcoming music video for "Astron Black:"

"Nightfall's Astron Black video clip has entered the editing process. The expected day of release is September 1st.

"Yet again the concept is full of symbolism based on ancient Greek Gods and Deities among other holy and unholy creatures.

"Neither the director Achilleas Gatsopoulos nor the band wanted to repeat the schemes and techniques applied in Ambassador of Mass video that was purely based on shadow puppet theatre.

"There is no reason trying to repeat a successful thing unless you do it for the money; this is not the issue here. The challenge of creation is priceless and we strictly do it for the art thing of it.
Be sure to check out some shots from the video here!"

Nightfall Comments On Show With Cradle Of Filth

Nightfall has announced it will be supporting Cradle of Filth live on April 8th at the Fuzz Club in Athens. Member Efthimis Karadimas has commented on the upcoming performance:

"It's been a long time since our last show. It is a great chance to perform our latest release Astron Black & the Thirty Tyrants (Metal Blade records) live from start to end. It’s gonna be like a concept appearance in the spirit of ancient Greek tragedy play. I am glad that the promoters accepted it without pushing for more time on stage. At this moment it is important to present this very album without any references to the older stuff and it would be impossible to do if we had to play alone. After all, Astron Black & the Thirty Tyrants is the reason why Nightfall are here right now."
