Latest Twisted Sister News
Below is our complete Twisted Sister news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Note: We began associating news directly with bands in late 2003. Therefore, earlier band news may not be listed on this page.
In a recent interview with Classic Rock magazine, Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N Roses) says that he considered Axl Rose (Guns N Roses) as one of the singers for his recent solo project, explaining that Rose would be able to sing the shit out of all of his songs. I also believe this would give the two an opportunity to bond; each day calling Steven Adler (Adler’s Appetite, ex-Guns N Roses) and ask if he wants to get the band together then yelling “psyche!” Then hanging up the phone… More...
A couple weeks ago someone (presumably with a great sense of humor) hacked into Axl Rose’s account and sent out a Tweet saying all the European shows were cancelled. Rose’s people quickly responded, noting that this was not true (despite this sounding EXACTLY like something Axl would do).
Lucky for us we were able to find a few other (alleged) Tweets sent out via (allegedly) hacked Twitter accounts. Enjoy… More...
This week’s episode begins with Shane graduating college. His mom, Suzette, believes this is the time to announce that Shane hasn’t had a girlfriend in years. She turns to husband Dee Snider and unconvincingly says, “I think he likes girls.” Dee is stone faced. Suzette decides that she needs to take control of the situation and find Shane a girl. Cody looks hurt when he hears this news. More...
This week’s episode of Growing Up Twisted begins with Cody and Shane playing with Suzette’s pet tarantula. Suzette states that the purple and black color reminds her of a scrotum. Immediately Cody and Shane are interested to know whether this is what their father’s (Dee Snider) scrotum is like. More...
This week’s Growing Up Twisted begins with Cody telling a story of a chef that puts an eel up his drunk friends ass. At this point there really needs to be one show dedicated to Cody’s sexuality. Actually, one episode may not be enough, we are talking miniseries.
Dee receives an offer to do a show in Atlantic City so he uses this opportunity to take the family on a road trip to A.C. After a stop at the recording studio where Jesse is playing his new song, “Rock and Roll Aint Dead”, Dee decides he wants to sing the song with his son at his upcoming show. Meanwhile, back at the house Lita Ford (who is apparently opening for Dee) is calling to invite Cheyenne to sing her song “Cherry Bomb” live at the show. Of course Cheyenne, Dee’s little drama queen, has a sore throat and is unsure she will be able to perform the song. More...
The third episode begins with Cheyenne looking or hiding socks and not wanting to participate in her older brother Shane’s sketch comedy act. Apparently Shane needs the whole family involved or else it just won’t be funny. It is unclear whether the socks are going to be part of the act. Cheyenne takes a nap and wakes up in tears, eventually she goes with her Mom (Suzette) to a magic shop because they need to buy a beard. When she inquires about a beard that hobby magician confirms that they have a wizard beard and that it looks real. Duh, don’t all wizard beards look real? Where it gets interesting is when the hobby guy magician asks Suzette if her breasts are real. This immediately angers her so she calls Dee and the boys to let them know that someone else is talking about her breasts. Being the twisted family they are it’s actually the boys that are more offended. Within minutes Dee and the boys are in the hobby shop threatening this teenage magician who is holding back his laughter. More...
Dee Snider is no stranger to reality TV appearances, but this week A&E launched Dee’s very own Osbourne type show where we follow the Twisted Sister front man’s family in Long Island, NY where they bond together and well, cry a lot. The family is made up of Dee’s sons Jesse, Shane, Cody, daughter Cheyenne, and many tears. More...
This week I give you my top albums from the eighties hair bands. Essentially a top twenty-five list, with a twist; imagine all of the albums from the eighties disappeared and you could no longer listen to this genre ever again, similar to 1992, but permanent. Unable to own the music, hear the music on the radio, or even listen to a song at a bar…what would you do to change this? Allow me to present the razor blade test. How many times will you cut yourself to bring a particular album back to your life? More...
Bret Michaels (Poison) is currently in discussions with Executives of American Idol over potentially being a judge for next year’s season. Even for FOX this is a little obvious, why not mix it up and throw Steven Adler (Adler’s Appetite, ex-Guns N Roses) in the mix, sitting next to Ellen (every five minutes whispering in her ear “I like lesbians”). Actually, why not really go for broke and have Adler, soft-spoken Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N Roses), and Ozzy Osbourne as the judges, no one will understand a word which would be a welcomed change. Of course, we keep on Ellen because, well, we do like lesbians… More...
With the onslaught of eighties rock autobiographies and even more biographies set to be released over the next several months; a look at some of the books that didn’t make the cut.
“Mark F’n Slaughter”
The Mark Slaughter story. An entire chapter focuses on (with proof) that he was in fact born with the name: Mark Slaughter. Even at page ten it begins to feel like a long read.
“Growing Old Gracefully, The Sebastian Bach Story”
Bach walks us through a child hood not full of rock star dreams, but dreams of reality television, specifically weight loss television shows. “I remember when I was five, I remember thinking, man I can’t weight to put on a few extra pounds and then show the world I can lose half the extra weight I gained.” If I had to describe the book in one word, it would have to be DEEP… More...
Last week Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N Roses) was attacked on stage by a man attempting to tackle him from behind. The guitarist literally brushed off the offender and continued to play (on a broken guitar that would be replaced). In honor of this move this week we look at some of the heroic and/or bad ass (rating of 10) and not so heroic/or not so bad ass (rating of 1) moments from the world of videos. More...
With a line-up boasting headline appearances from Children of Bodom, Fear Factory, Twisted Sister, plus a guest slot filled by Meshuggah, Bloodstock Open Air has now confirmed the gathering's final headline slot. The Friday night slot will be closed by Swedish Prog-metal superstars Opeth, who headlined back in 2008.
"We're pretty excited about coming back to play the Bloodstock festival with Opeth" states front man Mikael Akerfeldt "Myself and Axe will of course be double-fisting since we gonna cause some havoc with Bloodbath as well. We got asked to play since Heaven & Hell canceled and even though we obviously feel that we cannot possibly match their magic or fill the void, it will be like a personal tribute show to the memory of Ronnie Dio. So needless to say I'm honored to play, it will be intimidating and emotional I believe. We'll deliver as usual of course but yeah, I will be thinking about Dio, that's for sure."
The Bloodstock Open Air festival will take place from August 13th - 15th, 2010. Additional details on the festival can be found here.
Recent news of Ratt canceling their European tour due to Stephen Pearcy needing a hernia operation confirms what the lead singer has been hinting at for years, he really is doing the heavy lifting for this band…
SpikeTV aired their annual Guys Choice Awards this past week, awarding Ozzy Osbourne with the Literary Achievement award for his autobiography. In other rumored news, Ozzy will receive be receiving an honorary Medical Degree in Pharmaceuticals for his consistent stoned performance on The Osbournes… More...
Gene Simmons (Kiss) continues to push a “stage challenge” to both U2 and The Rolling Stones. I find it interesting this offer has yet to be extended to AC/DC. Is it just me, or when Kiss makes their version of a Superman movie (this will happen) we will learn that AC/DC is Gene’s Kryptonite? … More...
As the tragic news of the death of heavy metal cornerstone Ronnie James Dio is sinking into the hearts of fans, many other musicians in the field of heavy metal and hard rock have posted messages online remembering the man and his music. Some more of which include the likes of Anthrax, Slash and even Dios Black Sabbath predacessor Ozzy Osbourne.
Ozzy Osbourne - "Rest in peace Ronnie"
Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N' Roses): "Ronnie died at 7:45am this morning, but his music will live for eternity."
Anthrax: "Dio, Italian for God. Words won't do the man justice so we won't even try. Horns up always!"
Sebastian Bach: "Crying right now in remembrance of my hero and friend Ronnie James Dio. Dio died this morning and he was a major, major part of my life. I got to do shows with him and work with him and I loved Dio my whole life. Thanks so much the world has lost one of the best. Your last album was your best. Of course" More...

In week four of Celebrity Fit Club we finally get to see Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) in true form, that is to say, the anger finally appears. The best comparison I see is looking at Skid Row’s self titled debut album versus the follow-up, Slave to The Grind, going from “I Remember You” to “The Threat,” a sweet ballad to destruction. In this episode Bach goes from 0 to 100 in a matter of minutes, hitting cameras, getting in the face of female teammates, and dropping fifty F-bombs in less than five minutes. Nice to have you back Sebastian… More...
At LAX, Axl Rose (GUNS N ROSES) got into a scuffle with a paparazzo that ended up with a few bloodied participants. Even with Rose flying to Taiwan there is still concern about whether he will be in the mood to perform, a question that had been raised earlier in the week when the rest of the band flew to the gig without the singer. It’s time to set the GNR Tour odds: 2:1 one gig is played; 3:1 the Asian tour is completed without incident and/or cancellations; 5:1 GNR makes it to their Canadian leg of the tour; 1:1 Axl self destructs at some point during the tour. Technically, for those that had self destruction, you can now collect your winnings… More...
