The upcoming feature film "The Bridge" brings together a cast of iconic rock musicians, some of whom will make their film debut: Joe Elliott of Def Leppard, Al Jourgensen of Ministry, Joey Santiago of the Pixies, Eddie Ojeda of Twisted Sister, Tiny Biuso of Doyle (ex-Misfit)/TSOL, Rick Warwick of Black Star Riders/Thin Lizzy, and Sin Quirin of Ministry.
Director/writer Bobby Field, with producers Denise Bohdan and Jason Gurvitz, announce the launch of their campaign for the film on Indiegogo. You can contribute to the campaign at this location.
Driven by its powerful original soundtrack, and written by Bobby Field, a musician and actor in his own right, "The Bridge" tells the story of a small town musical prodigy who must free himself from the shadows of his past to find love, hope and friendship that could lead him to the musical expression he never thought possible.
The campaign will offer fans unique experiences like building their own Fender guitar at Fender Factory with Jourgensen, Quirin or Santiago, "Joe Elliott's Big Fat Package" featuring a Telecaster Guitar and other autographed memorabilia, or having Santiago make you his famous spaghetti in your home.
The campaign will also benefit The Fender Music Foundation, and Fender Musical Instruments Corporation's Entertainment Marketing division will be providing key products for the actual filming. More...

“I initially questioned whether or not we would be able to top last year’s Rocklahoma lineup this time around,” says Joe Litvag, Rocklahoma’s co-executive producer for AEG Live. “But with some of the biggest names in the rock world today like Kid Rock, Five Finger Death Punch, Seether and Deftones playing alongside Rocklahoma legends like Twisted Sister, Jackyl, Tom Kiefer of Cinderella and Kix, there is not a doubt in my mind that we just raised the bar! Dee Snider of Twisted Sister explains: "I view this festival as sort of a ‘Royal Rumble’ of rock; it's every band for itself, each trying to claim the belt. When Twisted Sister is done that night, the promoters are going to need to change the name of the event to 'I Wanna Rocklahoma'!"

The Old Bridge Metal Militia, credited with jump starting the metal community of New Jersey by opening their hearts and doors to the bands we old timers loved in our youth, held one of the most brilliant concerts to directly benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy, the superstorm which ripped through the Jersey shore last year. Many people still suffer from that devastating storm, but to have the metal community be credited with assisting those in need was an honor to be part. Shortly after the event, it was revealed that through ticket sales and raffle sales, the event raised over $40,000 for the cause - a staggering number for the sold out event that housed 1,500 people.
I sprung for the VIP experience, for the opportunity to meet and talk with some of my idols like Dee Snider, John & Mark Gallagher, Joe Hasselvander, Mark Tornillo, Robb Reiner, David Rock Feinstein, Carl Canedy, AJ Pero, Eddie Ojeda was just too hard to pass up. The 2.5 hour drive from my safe zone in Connecticut was filled with a playlist featuring such classics as “Under the Blade,” “Take Control,” “Let Them Eat Metal” and “Metal On Metal,” and as good fortune would have it, I heard them all live. It has been a while since I’ve wasted precious time watching Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice, but when I heard both Bret Michaels (Poison) and Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) would be contestants, well, I was in. Both had appeared in previous versions of the series, Michaels winning and Snider not. Last time, Michaels went to great lengths to secure his victory, staging a brain hemorrhage just weeks before the finale. That’s good acting Bret! As for Dee, I’m just hoping he doesn’t bring his family into this. More...

There are easily hundreds of heavy videos that fit the Halloween mood, but the Christmas holiday doesn’t get nearly as much love from the metal world. But never fear, metal doesn’t disappoint, and there are a few bands that have gone the extra mile and released videos to help get you through the uncomfortable family gatherings, drunk quarreling siblings, and even the off-key caroling. So whether you’re a die-hard celebrant who can’t sleep all night until Christmas morning or a scrooge with a “bah humbug!” on your lips, check out these video clips to keep your holiday fully metal.
Twisted Sister – “O Come All Ye Faithful”
Twisted Sister is notorious for awesomely cheesy videos with ridiculous opening segments, and covering a Christmas classic certainly wasn’t going to change that. Enjoy it for the amazingly goofy guy happily spreading Twisted Sister cheer, the rocking rendition of an old holiday standby, or even just enjoy it for the dancing MILF!
Last year Dan from Autumns Eyes wrote up an article on the Top Ten Halloween songs in honor of that most metal of holidays. This year we’re taking a look at those metal songs with music videos to get you into the proper Halloween mood, and to start off we’ll head into the most crazy, over-the-top, and outright ridiculous videos to be found in metaldom.
Gwar – “Immortal Corruptor”
Anything involving both Halloween and metal pretty much automatically is connected with Gwar. The “Immortal Corrupter” video has got pretty much everything a good horror flick should have – monsters, skeletons, torture, disembowelments, and a flaming drum kit that shoots gouts of blood. If you already hate Gwar there’s no way this clip will change your mind, but nobody can claim it isn’t monstrously entertaining.
Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider will be taking part in the forthcoming series of Celebrity Wifeswap, according to CNN.com. He will reportedly be trading spuses with Flava Flav, the iconic hype man of rap legends, Public Enemy.

Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) is admitting that not only did he fall off the wagon in 2008, but fellow toxic twin, Joe Perry also joined him while they attempted to record a new album. The way Tyler tells it is that Joe was snorting so many prescription drugs he was unable to play guitar. Note that contrary to rumors, snorting non-prescription drugs does not enhance playing guitar…
With eight out of thirteen tracks completed, Sebastian Bach (ex-Skid Row) is expected to have a new album released in the Summer of 2011. Bach is promising rock and roll with clean vocals and lots of screaming. All signs are pointing to Sebastian putting his “country music” years behind him. It appears everyone has agreed to just ignore this and make believe it never happened and that’s fine with me...
After attending classes and making a donation to M.A.D.D., Vince Neil (Motley Crue) is fully clear of his DUI charge. Neil will have the weekend to rest and then appear back in court on Monday for battery and disorderly conduct charges. For those keeping track it’s: Vince Neil 2, Lindsay Lohan 2 for number of court appearances in 2011. The good news is both are below their annual average, the bad news is we are only one-third through the year… More...

Twisted Sister drummer A.J. Pero has become the National Spokesperson for Fallen Blue, an organization created as a means to provide support, both emotional and financial, for the families of police officers who are killed outside the line of duty. Outside of drumming for Twisted Siste, Mr. Pero has dedicated his life to helping others less fortunate with his charity work.
"My name is A.J. Pero and I play drums for the Heavy Metal Band, TWISTED SISTER. I have been asked by John and Rachael from Fallen Blue to be a part of the Brotherhood. I jumped at the opportunity. I have become the National Spokesperson for this non-profit organization called Fallen Blue. I am honored to be a part of this family, this vital organization. I will help out 150%, so we can achieve our goals. Our goals are to help the families of these brave men and women who die outside the line of duty. When a police officer is killed outside the line of duty - whether accidentally or by their own hand due to job related stress - they don't receive the benefits. Some families can't even afford to have a funeral, never mind future bills. I've experienced that years ago when a friend on the job, stressed out and emotionally fried, shot himself. Our neighborhood stood together to help the wife and children. We had benefits and cookouts to raise money, but it just wasn't enough. This organization can and will become vital nationwide if we all recognize this is a reality and pull together our resources for all Law Enforcement Officers. Even though there are many different branches, we are all the same underneath and need to be treated as such. We would also like to eventually erect a physical Memorial where we can go and honor those killed outside the line of duty."
Raised in Long Island, New York the band Twisted Sister started as a seventies local glam band that would evolve into one of the most important heavy metal bands of the eighties (eventually flip-flopping and becoming more heavy metal with a dash of glam, opposite of their initial vision).
Twisted Sister was originally formed in 1972 by Jay Jay French. The band went through several line-up changes until 1979 when it settled on Dee Snider (vocals), Jay Jay French (guitar), Eddie Ojeda (guitar), Mark Mendoza (bass), and A.J. Pero (drums). In 1979 the band self released two singles and then was signed by Secret Records in the UK. With Secret they would release an EP titled “Ruff Cuts” and their first studio album, “Under the Blade,” which quickly became an underground hit. The band would then sign with Atlantic Records and put out their second studio album, “You Can’t Stop Rock n’ Roll,” in 1983.
In 1984 Twisted Sister shocked the heavy metal world, releasing “Stay Hungry,” their contribution to an era that continues to define a decade. The album caught on with fans as well as government officials, organized as the P.R.M.C. (stands for the Parents Resource Music Center which is the least intimidating name I’ve ever heard). Twisted Sister was called out for their rebellious lyrics in the song “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” It was a strange group that included Twisted Sister, W.A.S.P., and Motley Crue as well as Madonna, Sheena Easton, and Prince. These proceedings eventually led to the “Explicit Material” or Tipper Sticker found on the cover of albums, cassettes, and CDs. After “Stay Hungry” the band would release the album “Come Out and Play” and then later, thought more of a Dee Snider solo project, the album “Love Is for Suckers” was released. More...
