Hellfighter, the band formed by ex-members of U.K. thrashers Xentrix, has completed work on its debut album, "Damnation's Wings." In a recent interview Kristian Havard (guitar) talked about the making of the album:
"In some ways we have revisited the bands and sounds that we loved as kids: Bands like Maiden, Priest, Forbidden, Testament, Anthrax, but really we've just made the sort of record that we want to hear today. Everyone in the band and at the record label is very excited about, Damnation's Wings. It's taken a little while longer than we had hoped to complete the writing and recording process but we didn't want to compromise on anything. The end result is something we're extremely proud of. Most of all we're looking forward to getting out on the road to promote the album."
The track listing is as follows:
1. Tower of Sin
2. A Lesser God
3. Legacy of Hate
4. Faith in Lies
5. Damnation's Wings
6. Revolution Within
8. Bring Only Pain
Three former members of British thrash metal veterans Xentrix, singer Simon Gordon, drummer Den Gasser and guitarist Kristian Havard, have formed a brand new metal band named Hellfighter. The band also recently signed a record deal with Heavy Metal Records, through which they will release their debut album around late Spring/Summer time. Simon Gordon states:
"We're delighted to be working with such an established British label. We've known Paul Birch (Managing Director, Revolver Records and Heavy Metal Records) for ten years or so, since the Xentrix days, so it was natural for us to speak to him about Hellfighter. We're looking forward to a successful partnership."
MD Paul Birch added: "Hellfighter are in the studio at the moment and the album is sounding killer, with strong elements of the thrash sound but also some of their wider influences thrown in. We're pleased to be bringing Hellfighter to a wider audience. The album is a priority release for us in 2010, and with Heavy Metal Records celebrating its 30th year we're confident Hellfighter will help to make it a memorable one for the label."
