Philadelphia’s JAVELINA will be embarking on a tour in May in support of their self-titled Translation Loss debut, which is getting rave reviews from the likes of Decibel Magazine, Revolver, Metal Maniacs and countless more.

Zodiak, featuring members of Rosetta, ex-Lickgoldensky, Balboa, and Javelina have finished recording their debut album, "Sermons." The effort is to be mastered in the coming weeks and was recorded over the course of the past three years by the band’s guitarist, Mick Mullin at Super 8 Studios (High on Fire, Total Fucking Destruction).
"Sermons" consists of eight tracks that were mostly created out of improvised jams, though according to the band a large portion of the material came out more structured sounding then originally planned. An early-2008 release via Translation Loss Records is expected, but in the meantime, you can preview the track "Excavate" from the band's Translation Loss debut.
The band also plans on performing a few select dates throughout the course of next year.
Translation Loss Records has announced the signing of Philadelphia’s doom/sludge masters Javelina.

Louisville, KY band Pusher has disbanded for unspecified reasons. The group featured former Breather Resist singer Steve Sindoni in addition to ex-Lickgoldensky drummer Eric McManus.
Breather Resist has essentially been put to bed and members of the band have started a new project called Young Widows. According to the band, "After recording we decided it would be unfair to keep the name Breather Resist due to the fact that the stuff we have written now is not Breather Resist... it's something else... You follow? So we have left the name behind and are now, Young Widows." The group has posted unmastered material from their upcoming Jade Tree Records release online.
In related news, former Breather Resist vocalist Steve Sindoni has started a band called Pusher. The band also features former Lickgoldensky drummer Eric McManus and will enter the studio with Chris Owens (of Lords) next month.
Late last year Mike Hill (Anodyne) and Jamie Getz (Lickgoldensky) began playing together. Now, rounded out by Hot Cross drummer Greg Drudy and christened Matamoros, the group has recorded some new material (see below). The band continues to solidify new material in preparation for some shows.
Last week in New York City, Lickgoldensky finished mastering their Level Plane Records debut. The full-length was recorded by Josh Jakubowski (of Hot Cross) and Andrew Visalia and will hit stores on May 24th. Lambgoat has posted an MP3 from the new album here, so check it out. In related news, the group will soon be looking for a new bassist to replace departed member Herb Jowett, though Josh from Hot Cross will be filling in during their upcoming tour.
