The Rise Of L.A. Thrash Metal-Docu Out In January

An impressing list of musicians, record executives, journalists and more have taken part in the upcoming two-part ‘Inside Metal‘ documentary DVD, ‘The Rise Of L.A. Thrash Metal‘. Directed by Bob Nalbandian, the DVD will land on January 19th and showcases narration from Megadeth bassist David Ellefson.

Below you can watch a clip from the DVD in which Gene Hoglan (Testament, etc.) can be found discussing his first encounter with Metallica vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield back in 1981:

Defcon Posts Studio Video Footage Online

Blackened Industrial metalists DEFCON have posted a sessions video on Myspace where you view drummer, Miles Mar­tin in the studio track­ing DE­F­CON's brooding metal influenced single "Black Flame." This song appears on the band's sophomore album, "Flat Black Philosophy," which will be released March 2010. Watch the video below:

Defcon Signs To Bit Riot Records

Chicago blackened industrial metal band DEFCON have signed a new deal with Bit Riot Records and are ready to release their new album entitled "Flat Black Philosophy" on March 16th.

Vocalist brendan7 comments on the contractual partnership, "Finally, after weighing many options, Bit Riot has gracefully joined us in our quest to spread our message of despair and nothingness. This day brings us closer to the final end."

"Things have stayed dark in our lives and have not gotten better since the winter of scorn and solitude. We are now continuing on our path and will be heading out to spread our message of darkness, and hopelessness."
