Canadian progressive death metal band Into Eternity are preparing to return to the road after their spring North American tour with Amorphis. Lead guitarist / second vocalist Tim Roth addressed the bands recent illnesses, and recent activities: "It’s been a few weeks since we wrapped up our headlining Canadian dates, and everyone is back to good health now. Stu and Adam are back in their respective cities and it’s been a good break before we start our next tour and play Mexico’s Monterrey Metal Fest Vol. II on May 28th."
"We’re really excited to be a part of the Hate Eternal tour, and are planning to stick to our heavier material. Between Krisiun and Hate Eternal, the level of musicianship will be overwhelming, and it’s going to be killer to watch those bands every night. During the break, Rob and I have been working on new songs at his home studio. The material has been flowing and there will be some killer songs coming. They contain our trademark sounds, no worries. On May 20th, the rest of the guys return to Regina for rehearsals. We want to be as tight as we can for the upcoming tours. Hopefully we will see everyone on the road throughout Canada and the USA! Keep it metal!"
Still receiving rave reviews for their album "Buried In Oblivion", Into Eternity will be touring North America throughout the summer and fall, following up the Hate Eternal / Krisiun tour with a month-long tour supporting Finland’s Stratovarius.

June 10th-11th will mark the return of the nationally acclaimed 'Dwell in Darkness' festival that is set to bring a dark cloud over the city of Dayton, Ohio for two straight days. In a waning metal scene, SMNnews.com in conjunction with JagerMeister, and The End Records will be breathing new life back into Dayton, Ohio for a two day metal extravaganza that will feature a myriad of international, national, regional, and local bands.
The 2 days of pure metal fury will be unleashed at Elbos, a premiere Dayton venue that will be housing most diverse festival that North America has to offer. Located in the heart of the "Oregon District", Elbos features an outdoor patio, pool tables, vendorville and merch areas, and a full bar.
Headlining Day One (June 10th) of Dwell in Darkness II, all the way from Norway will be Century Media Records' mighty Extol. The band will be performing in support of their May 3rd release "Blueprint Dives" as they trek across North America. Co-headlining with Extol will be Listenable Records' road-warriors Incantation who will be making a special one-off appearance before heading out on a full US tour with Hate Eternal. Like a turd in your easter basket, Friday's lineup wouldn't be complete without the almighty grindcore quartet of Circle of Dead Children. Day one of terror continues with the addition of the incredibly brutal black metal stalwarts Summon, regional powerhouses Estuary, and Cleopatra Records artists Wehrwolfe. Also flying in from Norway to make a rare one off US performance, will be up and coming death metallers Judas Goat. Fusing the best of the mid-west and east coast with a flavorful touch of European metal delight, June 10th is set to make metal history in Dayton, Ohio. Throcult will also be making there way across a few states to debut some new material for all to see and hear. On top of that…preparing to send a bold, powerful statement to their local metal community, rounding out the day's lineup will be Blackmetal.com artists Sin Origin, regionals Black Trinity and Skullcap, New York's Fecal Corpse, Kansas Metal Awards winners Evermourn, Kentucky's Day I Dread, West Virginia's Premature Burial, and locals Elusive Travel.
If Friday wasn't enough - prepare for the unstoppable lineup of Saturday (June 11th)…Headlining the 2nd day of this amazing event will be the insane, intense, musical powerhouses who recently inked a deal with TVT Records and go by the name of Bobaflex. Known for their brutal live show, and onstage intensity, the band will be taking time out of the studio to headline this prestigious Ohio event - so start preparing yourself. Adding to the tally of the east coast's biggest names in rock and metal that will be appearing at Dwell in Darkness II is Artemis Records' Dog Fashion Disco. DFD will be making a special one off appearance to take to the stage in Dayton, Ohio as they continue to work on their major label debut. Century Media's finest Canadian act, progressive-melodic-death metallers Into Eternity as well as one of Nuclear Blast Records latest signings All Shall Perish will be storming the front, part of an all out main stage Ohioan aural assault.
Also diverging away from their regular touring schedule, from the white-hot West Coast label, Prosthetic Records (Lamb of God, All that Remains, Himsa, etc.), will be one of West Virginia's most merciless and forthright acts - Byzantine. Alas, what would a true festival be without a bit of female spice? Broadzilla, who have toured the world, will also be stopping by to tear the house down. Jetting over from Illinois, with bottles of Jager in hand, and plenty of free merch, will be Metal Blade Records artists and rock and roll virtuosos the Heavils - expect a set-time full of surprises! The pit doesn't stop there. Upping the ante and flying in from New York City to wreak havoc upon the city of Dayton, a band who will be making their second Dwell in Darkness appearance, is former Century Media/Kingfisher Records hardcore artists 4 in tha Chamber. Also making the trip from the East Coast, a group who has taken to the stage at European Festivals such as Wacken, and have toured relentlessly all over Germany, will be Twisted Tower Dire. Other namesakes rounding out the billing for Saturday, June 11th will be doomsters Avernus, who recently inked a deal with Flood the Earth Records, Lifeforce Records' Hell Within, New York City's Mr. Bungle Fast Eddie, as well as, A Waking Nightmare, The Messiah Complex, Rev. 9, Project 44, Jackalopes, I Died Trying, Morphic Resonance, Splitt, Caje, Lowchain, Ludavico Technique, Seconds from Disaster, Enslaved to Mercy, South Gate, Regiment, Dissonant Hatred, Krimson Reign, Needless Guilt, Rewind, Diskreet, Metaphysical, Woe of Tyrants and Fourty Tour.
This two day phenomenon, that features artists from Ferret Records, Metal Blade Records, Century Media Records, Prosthetic Records, Cleopatra Records, TVT Records, Listenable Records, and Lifeforce Records, with bands coming in from Norway, Pennsylvania, Kansas, West Virginia, California, Illinois, Kentucky, and New York. The show will ONLY cost a mere $15 dollars a day, with two-day passes running for a discounted rate at $27. Bringing in genres of music from all across the world, and from all across the United States, Dwell in Darkness II provides the best in hardcore, metal core, heavy metal, black metal, death metal, doom, industrial, and much, much more all for the cost of a 3 band club show.
There will also be hourly giveaways, raffles, contests, festival shirts, merch booths, autograph sessions with performing artists, vendorville areas, and much, much more. Also on hand to complete your two days of metal will be SMNnews.com and SMN Promotions Staff, who will be flying in to meet and greet fans, and MC the event. Discounted hotels rates are available for traveling parties through the Red Roof Inn in Miamisburg, Ohio @ 937-866-0705 - just mention the group name of 'Dwell'!

Into Eternity guitarist, Tim Roth, has posted the following tour update on the band's official website:
April 11, 2005 - back on the road
It feels great to be back on the road again! All the guys are at 90% feeling good right now, so everyone is happy. The moral is up now that we feel better. There is nothing worse than getting sick on the road.
Last night we ended up going to a karaoke bar here in Calgary on our day off. We all got up and started belting out the hits! It was a fun night. Stu was going off, ripping out "Painkiller" and "Run To The Hills". He was singing certain parts even higher, which I thought was funny as hell. I stuck to the Skid Row songs because I think it brought a tear to the table. Plus Sebastian Bach rules!!
The Winnipeg show was one of the best shows on the tour. It seems like the crowd was hungry for the metal. It's tough touring at this time with all the other tours, but there was a lot of fans still. I don't know why we don't go to Winnipeg more often.
The hometown Regina show was a bit dissapointing for us. A lot of our friends were there though, so that was nice. Everybody seemed to have a good time. I think it will be good to have an all ages show next time. That will happen when we roll through town as part of a package with Hate Eternal. It was cool to see everyone again.
Edmonton rules! That is always the case. It seems like it is becoming the metal Capital of the West. Brian the promoter treated us very well. He is a standup guy. The fans had a circle pit going and were singing along to all the songs. Now it feels like a hometown show when we hit that city.
Tonight is Calgary. We have 2 other bands on the bill again tonight , so it should be a good time. Divinity and Blacksky did well in Edmonton and this show will be the same.
Hopefully we will get to meet everyone out on the road. The sickness is fading, so we are going to come out and kick ass!!
keep it metal!
Canadian progressive death metal band INTO ETERNITY resume their Canadian tour today in Winnipeg. Although members of the band are still ailing from prolonged bouts with strep throat and pneumonia, they have vowed to bring their intense live show to dedicated audiences.
INTO ETERNITY was forced to cancel several of their late March appearances supporting Amorphis after guitarist Rob Doherty sought emergency medical treatment in Atlanta. Diagnosed with pneumonia and advised to enter the hospital, the band immediately returned to Canada where Doherty, vocalist Stu Block, and guitarist/vocalist Tim Roth (who played shows with fevers topping 104° F) were all treated for pneumonia. You can read Rob’s full account here.
INTO ETERNITY are touring in support of their critically acclaimed album Buried In Oblivion. In addition to their tour with Amorphis, the band will be touring the U.S. this summer with Hate Eternal, Krisiun, Incantation, and All Shall Perish and this fall with power metal masters Stratovarius.
INTO ETERNITY tour dates: More...
On Sunday March 20th I went to BBkings to interview Into Eternity and take photos at the show. Check out the photos here
Into Eternity have been forced to drop off the ongoing AMORPHIS US tour, which also features the likes of Single Bullet Theory in support, due to sickness. An official statement from the bands reads below:
"After the Atlanta show on the 25th, where Tim (Roth - guitars/vocals), Troy (Bleich - bass) and Adam (Segan - drums) played as a three-piece (!), because Stu (Block - vocals) and Rob (Doherty - guitar) were still being treated in the hospital (according to fan-posts on the forum for strep throat), the guys had no other choice but to leave the tour - they are (still) on their way home as we speak. That's all the info I (webmaster Marlies) have right now. Get home safe boys, and get well soon!"
As I walked into BB kings on March 20th 2005, I wasn’t prepared for the night of madness ahead of me. I see an almost empty room of fans sitting and talking while they wait for the opening act. I was at the front of the line for this show, but the line was short. By the time the first band started playing I looked around to notice if anyone else had come in, they had, but they didn’t feel like standing up front. I felt like I was at a small local club for my friend’s band. Also without a barrier the experience became more intimate. More...

Currently on tour with Amorphis in support of their 2004 release, "Buried In Oblivion," Canada’s Into Eternity have been added to Stratovarius’ fall tour package.
Vocalist/lead guitarist Tim Roth commented:
We are really excited to be touring with Stratovarius and see this as an ideal package. We will be playing in front of a completely new audience, one for which we haven’t had the opportunity to play. All of us have been Stratovarius fans for years. We are fans of Tolkki’s guitar playing, Kotipelto’s voice, and also of Jens Johansson (keyboards) ever since he played with Yngwie Malmsteen. We met Kotipelto at ProgPower USA V last year and we begged him to take Into Eternity on tour, and now it’s a reality.

Brazilian purveyors of death Krisiun are teaming up with Florida's Hate Eternal and Into Eternity, Incantation, and All Shall Perish to ravage the U.S. this summer.
Drummer Max Kolesne offered his horns up to everyone:
It's great to be coming back to the U.S., especially touring with our brothers in Hate Eternal and Incantation. This tour is going to devastate! Posers will die and their women will cry when the death metal demons rise.
Krisiun will be supporting their new release "Bloodshed," which contains eight new tracks highlighting the kings of hyperspeed's diversity and musical development. The album also includes four rudimentary corpse-grinding tracks from their rare, cult, underground first release, the Unmerciful Order EP (1993).

Century Media is proud to announce that Israeli progressive metal band Orphaned Land will be appearing this September at Atlanta’s ProgPower USA VI. This will be the band’s first-ever appearance in the United States. Vocalist Kobi Farhi is thrilled to be a part of this year’s festival and sent this message to fans, “We are happy and excited to announce that we have confirmed our debut show in the U.S.A., and we are coming to bring you a storm from the ORPHANED LAND. Hurricane Ivan was nothing here comes the Flood!! See you all at ProgPower.”
"Orphaned Land was the first band I approached about playing this year’s festival,” says ProgPower USA promoter Glenn Harveston. “I have been listening to the band since their early releases starting with 1994’s Sahara, and 1996’s El Norra Allil. I can say that 2004’s Mabool was one of the year’s most original and exotic albums. I’m honored to be able to bring them to the U.S. to be part of ProgPower USA VI." The prestigious festival has previously hosted labelmates Tad Morose, Into Eternity, Mercenary, Jag Panzer and Blind Guardian.
Canadian progressive death metallers Into Eternity have launched their newly revamped official website here. Guitarist/vocalist Tim Roth sends this message to fans worldwide:
Hello Everyone! Into Eternity has a new website address! Our friend Marlies Wobben just finished designing it after weeks of hard work. The official site is now www.Into Eternity.net. For now we still have the same message board where fans can get answers to questions directly from the band or check out the latest Into Eternity guitar tabs. More info will be added shortly.
Adam (drums) and Stu (vocals) arrive in Regina in a few weeks to finish rehearsing for our U.S. tour with Amorphis. After the tour wraps up in early April, we will continue on with some Western Canadian dates, to be announced soon.
Our new lineup's first official gig will be on Feb. 25th in our hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan. It will be held at The State with openers Cessate and Stillseed. Hopefully we will see everyone on the road very soon and thanks for all the support and keep it metal!
Into Eternity's upcoming tour dates with Amorphis and Beyond the Embrace: More...
The Finnish long time metal outfit Amorphis have finally found a new vocalist to replace Pasi Koskinen. The new vocalist found from the band's friends, from a local band NeverGreen, is called Tomi Joutsen who has been hired to handle all the vocal duties. Joutsen's debut gig was witnessed at the benefit gig arranged to help the victims of tsunami. According to the interview of Tomi Joutsen given to Iltalehti he unveiled to be digging the melancholic music from where Amorphis ladles all the inspiration and willing to do some growling vocals in the future. Amorphis has been working on the material for the new album and will be entering the studio by the end of spring. Meanwhile the Finnish melancholic metallers will head out to tour to The States and Mexico together with Into Eternity and Beyond The Embrace.
Into Eternity have announced the addition of Omega Crom vocalist Stuie B. to their lineup. Stu will apparently replace Chris Krall, who left the group last year. Here's a statement (posted on the band's website) from guitarist Tim Roth:
"We have spent a week jamming as a band again. The rehearsals went very well for us. Stu flew in from Vancouver on Monday the 3rd. The very first day, Stu had learned about 11 songs! He actually sang them all and we were surprised by that. By weeks end, he had most of the kinks out and we are sounding pretty tight. Stu has a really great high falsetto voice, which has some Rob Halford influence in it. The high parts on Buried In Oblivion are no problem for him and he is nailing all the parts like a pro! Another bonus is his death vocals. Stu has no problem hitting all the clean vocals and then switching into some death voices as well. This diverse style is going to work well within the band. To top it all off, Stu has a great attitude and it an all around cool guy. Stu will be performing with Into Eternity on all future shows, including our upcoming tour with Amorphis in March. Hopefully everyone will come out to support the new line-up. I promise it won't disappoint!"
