Devin Townsend Discusses Solo Tour
Legendary metal mastermind Devin Townsend has just released details in regards to his first ever solo tour. The tour will include over 15 years of Devin Townsend material ranging from Strapping Young Lad, Ziltoid and some songs from his more obscure releases.
Devin Townsend commented by saying:
"Sitting here at the airport after months of preparation for the European festivals, getting this material ready to be heard the way it’s meant to be heard, has been a pretty mean task.
Last night’s epic rehearsal was one of those moments when you realize the work put into making it right results in an awesome sound. I have been given the opportunity now to bring this music to North America in my first-ever solo headlining tour. It’s not a huge tour, but I really would appreciate seeing some of the familiar faces and hopefully some new ones as well. More...

Devin Townsend Project Updates About Festivals
After releasing “Addicted” Devin Townsend went straight on the road and just finished a tour throughout Australia and New Zealand on which he played around two hours of music each night.
Besides recoding the final parts of his next album, entitled "Deconstruction," Devin is currently plotting, scheming and organizing a special double performance for the Finnish Tuska festival. On the night of July 2nd he will be headlining the festival with a one-off world exclusive Ziltoid show. On July 3rd he will play a DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT set which will feature songs of the latest release “Addicted” as well as material from “Ki” and many more songs from his back-catalogue. The European festival season will be followed by a 5-6 week tour through the USA and Canada starting in October.
Devin states "I have to say, things just keep getting deeper. I have a feeling that my proudest creative moments are yet to come, and my focus right now is really great. I think there's something about the perspective gained from the few years off that has gone a long way. Relearning what my motivations were as an artist really came from having some clear headed time to reflect. I'm so ready, and love what I do. Thank you for still being here (those of you who are!). That being said, I've been writing late into the nights, and although Deconstruction will confuse and possibly annoy some (many?) I believe it's a real triumph for me. Yes, it's 'heavy', but in the same way that 'Alien' was indicative of my thoughts at that age, Deconstruction is a mirror of my now. Dare I say 'mature?' ... nah. But it's pretty over the edge."

Devin Townsend Checks In With New Update
Devin Townsend just completed a North American trek with Between The Buried and Me, Cynic, and Scale The Summit. This was Townsend’s first tour in a number of years and the first in support of his new offering, "Addicted," which debuted at #168 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and #2 on the Billboard Heatseakers chart.
Townsend checks in with the following report in regards to the success of the tour and his plans for the remainder of the year. He states: “Tour one in the can! Man, what a heck of an experience. I had gone back into touring with a certain amount of trepidation. 'will I flake? Can I do this without the 'persona? Is this life going to wipe me out?' but as is with most things, you never know until you're 'in it'. After a week of tumultuous shows (click tracks through front of house, monitor problems, broken guitars, etc.) I began to realize that really NOTHING has changed since Ozzfest for me. I'm still the same cheeseball performer, but now my voice is clear and I have the realization that I am honored to do this, and I really missed it. I love playing for people, and to finally represent all the emotions that go into my work, as opposed to just one or two is a dream come true and one that I don't take lightly.
“The audiences were great, supportive and forgiving of the initial technical glitches. The opportunity to connect with folks who have supported me for so long is an incredibly rewarding experience. The tour itself was magnificent with many shows that were sold out or close to it, and for my 'reintroduction' to the touring life, I could not have asked for better people to share the experience with.
