Swedish death metal supergroup Bloodbath has issued the following announcement about appearing at the Hellfest in 2010:
"The time has come for Bloodbath to make their return to the stage. Unfortunately, as time doesn’t allow the band to embark on a full tour, we’ve lined up a few selected appearances at the premier metal festivals in the summer of 2010. Despite rumors, there have been no changes to the line-up as the band still feature Mike on vocals, Blakkheim and Sodomizer on guitars, Jonas on bass and of corpze Axe on drums. The first festival that we can confirm to be devoured is Hellfest in France where Bloodbath will be the headliners of the 'extreme tent' circa 11.30pm to 00.45am on June 20th."
Swedish death metallers Bloodbath have issued the following statement about finding a new management agency:
"Bloodbath is now managed by Northern Music Company, the home to bands such as Opeth, Paradise Lost, Katatonia and more… All concert, merch and business related questions should from now on be directed to our new management which you can reach here."
Swedish metallers Bloodbath, featuring Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth, will be releasing a limited number of vinyl copies of the "Unblessing the Purity" EP on June 29th. Peaceville Records issued the following statement about the vinyl release:
"2008 witnessed the glorious, gory return of Bloodbath. Following years of inactivity they returned with Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) resuming vocal duties joining Martin ‘Axe’ Axenrot (Opeth), Jonas Renkse and Anders ‘Blakkheim’ Nyström (Katatonia) and Per 'Sodomizer' Eriksson.
"The mini-album ’Unblessing The Purity’ was followed by the CD & DVD set ’The Wacken Carnage’ and the new album ’The Fathomless Mastery’.
"Each of these were met with critical adulation with Rocksound describing them as ‘metal’s wet dream’ and Metal Hammer proclaiming ‘death metal doesn’t get much better than this’ and the readers of Terrorizer voted ‘The Fathomless Mastery’ album of the year.
"This vinyl edition of ‘Unblessing The Purity’ is limited to 2,000 numbered copies and comes on 10” blood red vinyl in a gatefold sleeve."
Swedish super death metal group Bloodbath has issued the following announcement about being unable to play any live shows in 2009:
"Unfortunately, we’ve to announce that Bloodbath must pass this summer’s festival season. Mike and Axe have both confirmed they’re too occupied with Opeth and can not commit to any live shows with Bloodbath until 2010, the earliest. Recruiting live replacements for Mike and Axe have been considered, but is right now not going to be possible for technical aspects and neither appropriate for obvious reasons. So for now, we simply have to hope for more luck and better timing next year if Bloodbath shall return to the stage. With that said, we would like to thank all promoters who’s shown a great interest in Bloodbath performing at their shows and we’d also like to send our apologies to our fans for not meeting your expectations this time."
Swedish death metal band Bloodbath have just released the following statement concerning their new music video for "Hades Rising":
"Together with director Owe Lingwall and Village Road Film we just shot the first official promo video in the band's history for 'Hades Rising' taken off 'The Fathomless Mastery.' The footage of the band's performance was shot on location in Vallentuna outside Stockholm and can be summoned up as some serious headbanging with lots of blood, real messy and death metal dandy! The rest of the plot/storyline is currently [being] filmed in Umeå where the footage will also be edited within the next 4 weeks. Stay tuned for a synopsis of this very devilish manuscript. It's gonna crush the souls of thousands!"
Bloodbath has teamed up with MetalSucks for a Per "Sodomizer" Eriksson signature model Mayones guitar giveaway.

Swedish metal act Bloodbath has posted the following message online:
"We have just learned that our latest shirt design has run into some controversy. Actually, It’s been a bit of a rocky road from the start with this one. Back at the sketch board, some of our art direction ideas were met by hesitation and according to the designer would feel 'uncomfortable to do.' However, the design went through and obviously with such a fantastic piece of artwork and beautiful symbolism the t-shirt has hit home with Bloodbath’s audience all over the world, but apparently a demon vomiting on Jesus on a cross, surrounded by snakes, vultures and skulls was over the line for some confused ” death metal” fans. Perhaps they should ask themselves if it was really death metal they were searching for in the first place. Here are examples of some Dr Phil approved quotes we recieved:
"Recently saw your t-shirt 'Mock The Cross'. It seems rather childish and immature not to mention very dangerous, to ridicule Christ. Why such disdainment for the incarnate God who died to save all mankind, even your sorry asses! If you have a problem with organized religion that’s one thing. It has little to do with Christ and His life and teachings. Of course if you curse Him in apparent ignorance, then you wouldn’t know the difference. Hell won’t be a cool place to be. The power of the cross is foolishness to those perishing."
"I Don’t care about all the satan woreshippers that are gonna flame me. But, BloodBath YOU JUST LOST A FAN. On that degrading shirt. I believe what i believe. I rather not have bands mock it. This band is done. Never again. See you on judgment day." More...
Swedish metallers Bloodbath have issued the following update:
"If you haven’t already checked out the new sick shirt design, do it now because we pulled out all the stops on this one. The original artwork was done by Jeff Finley and features a winged demon vomiting on Jesus on a cross, surrounded by snakes, vultures on tree and a ton of fine detail to be found, capped by the Bloodbath logo on top. The back features the text “Mock the Cross” with the demon from the front in red. The design was also printed using a technique which results in the ink becoming one with the fabric, creating a soft vintage look and feel. Not a shirt to miss, so grab one now!
"There are also rumours saying that Bloodbath might shoot a video for one of the songs off The Fathomless Mastery and we can confirm that to be true. Stay tuned to find out what song it will be and much more."
The new Bloodbath minisite for latest album, "The Fathomless Mastery," is now unleashed, to coincide with the October 6th release (28th October US) of this latest slab of brutality. 2008 has become an extremely exciting year in the history of Century Media Records, one of the world's most respected independent homes for heavy music, as the label is celebrating its 20th anniversary!
The company's Anniversary year started off with an extremely successful, first-ever yard sale/party at the Century Media office in Dortmund (Germany) in June, where several hundred guests partied out on exclusive live shows by Angel Dust and Turisas. A video with impressions from the event can be seen at this location. A photo gallery for this event can be viewed here.
To further celebrate this anniversary Century Media Records will release the very special 2CD compilation "Covering 20 Years Of Extremes" on September 15th in Europe and on October 14th in North America. The various artists covers-release includes 32 mostly exclusive recordings and will be available in stores for the price of one CD. Sticking to the "keep it in the family" slogan, CM approached their artists about covering songs from other acts within the label's repertoire and the response from the musicians was overwhelming.
Some choices were obvious and homages to the bands that influenced them, others were inspired picks. This combination ended up leading to a heavily entertaining and truly special final result across all sub-genres of heavy music.

Swedish death metal band Bloodbath's next eagerly awaited chapter will be a new studio album titled "The Fathomless Mastery," with an October 6th release date. The new full-length fetures the same line-up as the recently released MCD, "Unblessing the Purity."
The band also just recently released the live CD/DVD "The Wacken Carnage."
Guitarist Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström of the Swedish death metal "supergroup" BLOODBATH has issued the following update:
"BLOODBATH just spent the last week at Park Studio in Stockholm where Axe [drummer Martin 'Axe' Axenrot] put down an (un)healthy doze of all the basic ingredients and more to get this death metal monster meal cooking in hell's oven. We're talking classic old-school skin-pounding, furious blast beats, double-bass drums, all kinds of tempos and a heavy load of killer fills, yeah you name it… This time it turned out to be 11 brand new songs on the menu for the band's still-untitled third album."
"So what direction does the material take this time? Well, it's definately taking off where we left with 'Unblessing The Purity'. The material represents nothing but hateful brutality, so there's surely a lot of speed countered with heavy groove. Riff-wise, we're playing a lot with dissonant harmonies for that feverish possessed feeling, but we also brought back the whole melodic yet haunting 'bee-swarming' theme concept from the past albums to represent the classic sound, so there's definately gonna be a good deal of variety on here which we hope to pack together in the most crushing production yet."
