Orange County, CA, based Bleeding Through was formed in 1998 under the name Breakneck, featuring Eighteen Visions' members Brandon Schieppati and Scott Danough. The band made its live debut as supporting act to Throwdown and Adamantium. Things were going well but some of the members wanted to go in a different direction and expand the hardcore sound to metal, so they changed their name to Bleeding Through and began writing new songs.

At the same time guitarist Javier Van Huss left and bassist Chad Tafolla took over his part. Bassist Marc Jackson was incorporated and the band released a 5- song demo. Marc then quit the band, so Bleeding Through recruited Vijay to play bass and added a brand new member- keyboardist Molly Street. Then they went to Doubletime Studios in San Diego to record the full length CD "'Dust to Ashes", which was released in March 2001. It was reckoned as a Cannibal Corpse, At The Gates and Hatebreed crossover and featured 5 new songs and all of the demo re- recorded.

In summer 2001, the band went through yet another lineup change- guitarist Chad left and Brian Leppke joined and Mick from 18 Visions took over the bass. Another album followed, "Portrait of the Goddess", released in 2002. The band then signed with New Jersey-based Trustkill Records.

Bleeding Through's third full length album "This Is Love, This Is Murderous" was released in September 2003 and received great response from fans and media. The following summer, the band was one of the second stage acts on Ozzfest 2004. Later on the same year, Bleeding Through was featured on Headbangers Ball Tour 2004, alongside Himsa, Arch Enemy and Cradle Of Filth.

After going through many member changes and finally finding the sound they wanted to create, the current lineup is: Brandan Schieppati (vocals), Brian Leppke (guitar), Scott Danough (guitar), Derek Youngsma (drums), Ryan Wombacher (bass) and Marta (keyboards).

Bleeding Through Signs To Rise Records

Front man Brandan Schieppati of Bleeding Through has issued the following statement about the band signing with Rise Records:

"We're very excited to align with a record label that has so much momentum and is growing when many seem to be faltering, dropping bands and firing employees. Rise continues to grow. We've been a band for a decade and we wanted to be with someone who is enthusiastic about Bleeding Through and is in a position to help us continue to grow and progress as well. A lot of labels, managers and agents carry these egos as if they are the most important part of the equation. It's all about what the bands can do for them, to advance their interests, instead of the other way around. We had a lot of serious interest from several labels, many of whom we get along with. But we felt like Rise is the best fit for us because they are excited about our band and our music first and foremost."

Rise Records president Craig Ericson had this to say about the signing: More...

Bleeding Through Announces New Guitarist

Bleeding Through has issued the following update about replacing their guitarist:

"Hey Everyone --

"Now that we're home and rested up from Europe we have some news to share with you. Our good friend Dave Nassie -- who many of you will recognize not only from No Use For A Name, Infectious Grooves and a brief stint with Suicidal Tendencies but from Brandan's side project, The Innocent, as well -- has joined Bleeding Through on guitar.

"Jona Weinhofen, who joined Bleeding Through two years ago, told us during our North American headliner that he would be leaving the band. As he put it, while he enjoyed his time with us, he missed Australia and of course our well documented financial struggles last year due to Trustkill Records lack of timely commitment to their contractual obligations (which continue; they are 90 days late on royalties) all led to his decision.

"We love Jona and we appreciate his contribution to Bleeding Through and his work on our new album, Declaration. He did agree to complete his touring obligations with us which concluded with the Thrash N Burn Tour in Europe. Jona filling in for Bring Me The Horizon came up later, as he explained to us, and we take Jona's word at face value on that. More...

Bleeding Through Charts with "Declaration"

"Declaration," the latest release from Orange County metallers BLEEDING THROUGH, has debuted at #101 on the Billboard Top 200. The album also appeared at #14 on the Indie Chart and #19 on the Hard Music Chart.

"Declaration" was produced by Devin Townsend and is said to be the band's darkest, heaviest and most extreme offering to date, while sacrificing none of the trademarked haunting melody of prior albums. It is the follow-up to Bleeding Through's 2006 album, "The Truth," which saw the band grace the covers of Metal Edge, Outburn and Chord.

The band is currently touring to support "Declaration," with several record release shows in Southern California, including an appearance at Liskfest in Irvine, CA. The first record release show will be at Soma in San Diego and the second at the band's beloved Chain Reaction in Anaheim. Joining Bleeding Through at both shows will be Stick To Your Guns, Oblige and Let Live.

Bleeding Through tour dates:
10/11 – Irvine, CA - Liskfest
10/25 – San Diego, CA – Soma w/ Stick to Your Guns, Oblige, and Let Live
