British metallers Threshold have announced that their new album will be called "March of Progress" and is due for release through Nuclear Blast Records in 2012. The band commented:
"The provisional song titles on the new album are 'Ashes', 'Return of the Thought Police', 'Colophon', 'Staring at the Sun', 'Liberty Complacency Dependency', 'Divinity', 'The Hours', 'Don't Look Down', 'That's Why we Came', 'The Rubicon' & 'Coda'.
"'March of Progress' sees the return of original Threshold vocalist Damian Wilson (HEADSPACE, STAR ONE) who rejoined the band in 2007 following the departure of Andrew 'Mac' McDermott, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
"The album is being produced at Thin Ice Studios and Eightspace Studio in the UK by Karl Groom and Richard West. Threshold will perform a handful of pre-release shows in April 2012 to promote the album."
Further details on the upcoming album release will be announced as they are made available.
As was previously announced, Threshold will be heading off on a string of pre-release shows in April for an as-yet-untitled album. The band has now announced Italian rockers Kingcrow will support Threshold for three of the dates.
The Italians recently toured Europe to promote the new album "Phlegethon" supporting Redemption. Kingrowwill support THRESHOLD at the following shows:

British progressive metal band Threshhold have announced a string of pre-release shows in April 2012 to promote the forthcoming yet untitled. The band will play a set featuring songs from the new album which is due for release through Nuclear Blast Records in 2012. The following dates have been announced:

British progressive metal band Threshold checked in to report that the band is currently recording the yet untitled ninth studio release at Thin Ice Studios in Surrey, England.
The reports reads as follows:
"The band have finished pre-production and are now tracking drums. 'We've got about 75 minutes of music at the moment so there's plenty to do' said keyboard player Richard West, who is producing the album alongside guitarist Karl Groom. 'I'm very pleased with the way this album is coming together' commented Groom. 'It is particularly good to see contributions in writing from more band members.'
"The new album sees the return of original THRESHOLD vocalist Damian Wilson (HEADSPACE, STAR ONE) who rejoined the band in 2007 following the departure of Andrew 'Mac' McDermott who sadly passed away on 3 August.
"THRESHOLD's previous studio album 'Dead Reckoning' was released in 2007 and featured guest vocals by Dan Swanö (NIGHTINGALE, BLOODBATH). The album entered the charts at position 64 in Germany, 95 in The Netherlands and 37 in the UK rock chart.
"THRESHOLD will release their new album through Nuclear Blast Records in 2012."
Andrew 'Mac' McDermott, the former lead singer of British heavy metal outfit Threshold, passed away yesterday in England. A condolence page has been set up for the vocalist, which you can visit by clicking here. McDermott has reportedly been suffering from "serious health problems" for a while, which resulted in him leaving the band Powerworld in June. The cause of death is presently unknown.
McDermott was best known for his tenure as the vocalist for Threshold, a position he held from 1998's, "Clone" album to 2007's, "Dead Reckoning." He also spent time with German metal band Sargent Fury in the early 90's and most recently was part of the band Swamp Freaks.
Threshold has checked in with the following update about wrapping up its summer tour dates and entering the studio to record a new album:
"Threshold are back from their final shows of the summer after some great performances in the Netherlands and at the Night Of The Prog Festival in Germany.
"The band will now return to the studio to complete work on their forthcoming ninth studio album, due for release through Nuclear Blast Records in 2012."

After previously announcing a string of European tour dates, U.K. based metal act Threshold has now issued the following brief announcement about canceling the band's upcoming show in Belgium:
"Belgium show cancelled: we're sorry to announce that Threshold's show on 9 July in Belgium just got cancelled for reasons beyond Threshold's control."

Threshold has issued the following announcement about performing at the upcoming Night of the Prog festival in July:

U.K. based progressive metallers Threshold have started writing material for the follow up to their last album "Dead Reckoning." The new album is due for release through Nuclear Blast Records sometime in 2011. The band commented on beginning the recording process:
"Threshold will record the new volume at Thin Ice Studios in the UK, with production as usual by Karl Groom and Richard West. The band's last studio album Dead Reckoning was released in 2007 and enjoyed chart success in the UK, Germany and Holland. Threshold have since released a double album compilation The Ravages Of Time and a box set entitled Paradox - The Singles Collection."
Threshold has checked in with the following update about lining up 2011 tour dates: "Threshold have confirmed their first shows of next year with two dates in the Netherlands followed by a festival headline show at a new progressive and symphonic metal festival in the UK called Fused."

Threshold has issued the following announcement about the Star One project streaming a new song online title "Earth That Was" via Noisecreep.com:
"A new song from Dutch composer/multi-instrumentalist Arjen Lucassen's Star One project is available for streaming at Noisecreep. The track comes off the new Star One album Victims Of The Modern Age which is due for release at the end of October.
"As well as Threshold vocalist Damian Wilson, the Star One album features guest singers Dan Swanö (Nightingale, Second Sky, Edge of Sanity) who appeared on Threshold's Dead Reckoning, Russell Allen (Symphony X), Floor Jansen (Revamp, After Forever) and Tony Martin (Black Sabbath)."
German metal band PowerWorld has issued the following update:
"We are proud that we have a new strong voice on the microphones. Please welcome Mr. Andrew McDermott: 'Mac' is the Ex-Singer of the german band Sargant Fury and the Ex-Singer of the UK-Progband Threshold. He is a man with a lot of experience. British progressive metal band THRESHOLD has released a brand new digital single of the MUSE cover "Supermassive Black Hole." The song can be heard on the band's MySpace page.
Richard West comments, "'Supermassive Black Hole' was such a huge hit for MUSE, it's become a modern classic and it's still in the top ten of the UK rock charts after 150 weeks! I hope MUSE enjoy THRESHOLD's reworking of their song, we've stayed fairly true to the original but with some added THRESHOLD heaviness."
The band will also re-issue their latest effort "Dead Reckoning" including instrumental versions of all songs of the album as a bonus - the digital release of the package is scheduled for mid February. More...
Threshold will release their cover of the Muse song "Supermassive Black Hole" as a digital single on Jan 29 (UK Jan 31, US Feb 2). The single's B-side will be "Slipstream (vocoder version)," a previously unreleased mix of the opening song from the album "Dead Reckoning."
