U.K. progressive metal act Threshold has issued an update on the upcoming new record and issued the first official picture of the new line-up featuring returning vocalist Glynn Morgan.

Threshold Splits With Vocalist Damian Wilson

U.K. progressive metal act Threshold has parted ways with vocalist Damian Wilson. The band has chosen to start a new chapter without him and he has stated he respects the group's decision.

The band commented: "Wilson enjoyed three stints with Threshold, performing on the band's most recent records 'For The Journey' and 'March Of Progress,' as well as their early releases 'Wounded Land' and 'Extinct Instinct' in the 1990's. Damian Wilson has been a great frontman for Threshold and the band would like to sincerely thank him and wish him every success in his future endeavours."

Damian Wilson also issued a statement that reads: "Unfortunately this is not a mutual decision, but I respect it. After I had recorded the album and committed to the tour I was informed that Threshold were going to continue on without me. They have every right to make this choice, although it is difficult to part ways with a group of people you’ve shared so many experiences with.

"I really enjoyed the past decade recording and touring with Threshold and wish them all the best for the future, with the hope we might work again on projects somewhere down the line.
The label Nuclear Blast are amazing, and with the wonderful support of the fan base the whole journey of being the frontman for Threshold has been fantastic." More...

In celebration of the release, Prog Magazine took keyboardist Richard West on a journey through the band's ten studio albums, from "Wounded Land" to "For The Journey." Watch the two part video interview below.

Guitarist Karl Groom commented on the band's new release: "The 'For The Journey' tour, where we made the live recordings, was much like most recent Threshold dates, in so much as the band thoroughly enjoy gigging and appreciate the support we get from our fans. This is the atmosphere we wanted to capture in our playing and I believe that translates well on this release. The aim in mixing was to keep the integrity of the original performance and that was why we recorded plenty of shows. It is good to be able to present this Threshold line up to people who have not been able to attend gig and it is also a great memory of the tour." More...

Threshold Posts Video From Live Album

British metal outfit Threshold recently announced the release of new live album "European Journey" and today the band is presenting the first track from the forthcoming release.

Shot by fans across various venues in Europe, the video for "Watchtower On The Moon" draws a perfect parallel with the new live album. Check it out below. Keyboardist Richard West commented on the video:

"It's so cool to have a video compiling some of our performances from the last tour. 'Watchtower On The Moon' is one of our favourites from the last studio album, it's full of energy and great to play live. I think 'European Journey' does a wonderful job of capturing the power and atmosphere of a Threshold show, it just makes me want to get out there and do it again!"
