Oceansize Splits Up

U.K. progressive metal act Oceansize has posted the following statement online, through its official website, announcing its decision to disband.

"Dear Friends,

"We regret to inform you that Oceansize have split up.

"An explanation for this occurrence is neither forthcoming or indeed necessary. All that remains is to say THANK YOU for being there for us. It's been a very eventful and life-affirming 12 years. We'll miss you.

"There will be more music from each of us as soon as possible."

Oceansize Confirms Extensive Tour, Supporting PT

Post-metal/rock band OCEANSIZE is planning an extensive tour, supporting Porcupine Tree on many of those dates.

The band has just revamped their MySpace profile, so head over to get a taste of their upcoming album “Self Preserved While The Bodies Float Up.” Self Preserved While The Bodies Float Up” will be out on the following dates:

GERMANY / AUSTRIA / SWITZERLAND: Friday, September 3, 2010.
SPAIN / ITALY : Tuesday, September 7, 2010.
SWEDEN / FINLAND / HUNGARY:Wednesday, September 8, 2010.
AUSTRALIA / NEW ZEALAND: Friday, September 10, 2010

The album was mixed by Chris Sheldon (Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters, Therapy?), mastered at Abbey Road Studios and will be available in multiple formats including a standard CD, special edition, Mediabook (48p booklet, bonus track), 180gr Gatefold LP + entire album on CD, and digital download.

“SuperImposer,” the first track available off the album, is still available as download here. The only thing you need to do is posting that you downloaded the track via facebook or twitter.

Oceansize Plans U.K. Tour

Manchester’s OCEANSIZE have just launched the their brand-new EPK. Head over to their MySpace page and check out some interesting insights with Mike Vennart (Guitar/Lead Vocals) and Gambler (Guitar/Keyboards).

Just hover above the artwork of the upcoming “Home & Minor”-EP that you find in the header of the page and see which parts you can click on. All the windows are filled with interesting content like i.e. a live-clip for “Unfamiliar” from their 3DVD+4CD box set “Feed To Feed,” two teaser-clips for their current “Home & Minor” EP, a clip for the song “Legal Teens” as well as two parts of their brand-new EPK.
