Italy's DoomSword has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with guitarist Alessio Berlaffa:
"After 9 years of friendship and heavy metal, Alessio 'Sacred Heart' Berlaffa has parted ways with DoomSword. We wish to thank Alessio for everything and wish him the very best in the future!
"Gianluca Silvi (Battle Ram) and Matteo Carnio (Fury 'n' Grace) have joined DoomSword on guitars. Both are accomplished musicians and veterans of the Italian metal scene. Dare we say that the future of DoomSword is more promising than ever?
"The band is currently preparing a crushing show for Athens (in support of Warlord) and are rehearsing new material for DoomSword's sixth album.
"Our fate is written, sword and shield: born to die on the battlefield! Nota Bene: Battle Ram and Fury 'n' Grace will continue their activity as normal."
Italian act DoomSword has checked in with the following brief announcement about the release dates for the band's upcoming new album:
"The Eternal Battle: DoomSword's fifth album entitled 'The Eternal Battle' will be released February 25th/28th (depending on your location). Up the horns!"
In the mean time, you can also hear DoomSword's music via several songs available for streaming on the band's MySpace profile. In other recent DoomSword news, the band also parted ways with bassist Geilt and recruited new member Christian "Nidhoggr" Grillo.
DoomSword has issued the following announcement about recruiting a new bass player:
"Geilt has departed from DoomSword and will continue to play with Midryasi and to work with his brother Deathmaster on future musical projects. DoomSword would like to thank Geilt for his contribution to the band.
"Christian 'Nidhoggr' Grillo (Gjallarhorn (It), Fury N Grace) will take up his place. Christian is a talented musician and an old friend of the band having played with Wrathlord in Fury N Grace and Gjallarhorn (It) with Deathmaster and Wrathlord."
Greek metal band Battleroar has announced the addition of a new singer Gabriele "Nightcomer" Grilli. The band comments, "BattleroaR proudly presents it's new singer: Gabriele 'Nightcomer' Grilli. You may already know him from the first album of Doomsword... and now he is back!"
DoomSword has issued the following update about parting ways with their guitarist:
"After almost 10 years, Maurizio 'The Forger' Bugin has left DoomSword.
"We are glad that our friendship and brotherhood is still intact and strong, although taking different paths.
"We in DoomSword thank The Forger from the bottom of our hearts for many years of friendship, fun, plundering and pillage, and we wish him the best of luck with his future."
Mondongo Canibale Records has announced the signing of Italian metal band Opposite Sides. Formed by members of bands such as Baratro, Hortus Animae and Hate Profile, for the recording of their debut album "Soul Mechanics" the bands had as guest drummer to Diego "GroM" Meraviglia (Ancient, Doomsword, Psychofagist, Hate Profile, Hortus Animae...).
"Soul Mechanics" combines elements of death/thrash metal, industrial/electronics and prog music, resulting in songs that are catchy, technical, heavy and melodious.
DREAMAKER will play two shows in Japan (Tokyo & Osaka) in May. In April, the band will be on tour in Europe with Falconer & Doomsword. Dreamaker has also confirmed their participation at Viña Rock Festival (Spain).
