The Wounded Kings - a band consisting of doom metal warriors from the South West of England - will release fifth full-length album, "Visions In Bone," on August 26th via Candlelight / Spinefarm Records.
"Visions In Bone" was jointly produced and engineered by Chris Fielding and the band at Mwnci Studios in Wales and Skyhammer Studios in Cheshire, UK. The album swirls and flows with vintage tones and smoky vibes, with the themes of death, despair and redemption very much to the fore.

U.K. doom metal band The Wounded Kings just wrapped up work on a new full-length to follow 2014's "Consolamentum" release. The group comments:
"Album complete. Finished mastering yesterday. Now off to Candlelight with it! Sounds immense! Riffs, riffs and more riffs!!!"

U.K. doom conjurers The Wounded Kings have checked in with the following announcement about a changeup in the vocalist position:
"As of now, Sharie Neyland is no longer a member of the band. She has left for personal reasons. Obviously this came as a shock as we have show commitments and a European tour with dates to honour.

Candlelight Records today confirms February 25th as the North American release date of "Consolamentum," the label debut from English doom metallers, The Wounded Kings. Produced by Chris Fielding (Electric Wizard), the album will be available for pre-order via iTunes and other digital platforms beginning January 14th.
Discussing the album earlier this year, guitarist and band founder Steve Mills revealed, "this album will be our most expansive and heaviest."
"The entire album was recorded and mixed in six days during the hottest week of the year in a studio miles from anything in the Cornish countryside," shares producer Chris Fielding. "Recorded completely live, it captures the natural feel of the band. I find it to be a real step forward musically and very rewarding."

England’s The Wounded Kings is one of several artists to be featured on the upcoming documentary "Smells Like Sweat." A trailer for the documentary is available below.
Filmed at 2012’s inaugural Heavy Days in Doomtown Festival, the film was compiled by Unknown Factor, a DIY collective of progressive artists. The 30 minute film will be premiered at the Denmark based festival’s warm-up weekend planned in Stockholm on February 22nd, with an encore showing in Copenhagen on February 23rd. The Wounded Kings is set to perform at the premiere in Copenhagen.
Regarding the film, The Wounded Kings guitarist Steve Mills says, “When we were asked to play the festival, we were one of the first bands to be approached and we all really liked the DIY ethos behind it so we signed up immediately. Little did we know it was going to turn into such a beast! Along with the crowd on the 23rd, this will also be the first time we will see the documentary. If the festival was anything to go by then the film will be loud, heavy and fuckin’ killer.” More...
Heavy Days In Doom Town - a DIY celebration of all things slow and heavy - will be a 4 day event at 3 different venues in Copenhagen from May 3rd through the 6th, 2012. It will start with a warm up show at the alternative venue Stengade, Stengade 18. Then there will be 2 days of music, art, events and madness at the DIY activist driven social centre Ungdomshuset, Dortheavej 61 and then finally a cool down day in Copenhagens free town Christiania with movie screenings, acoustic outdoor shows and the final concert at Christiania's rock club in Loppen. U.K. act The Wounded Kings has announced the band's third album "In the Chapel of the Black Hand" will see release on September 1st, 2011 via I Hate Records.
A track from the album, titled "Gates of Oblivion," is currently available for streaming online through the band's Reverbnation profile.

The Obelisk is streaming 15 Minutes of doom metal from The Wounded Kings off their split release with Cough. The song is called “Curse of Chains,” and the split with Cough is titled "An Introduction to the Black Arts" and is due out November 16th on Forcefield Records.

The band's current line-up will cease to exist in 2011, as Nick (drums) is moving to Canada with his new wife and George is leaving to carry on with his solo work, leaving just two members of the band remaining. The band plans to soldier on and recruit replacements, however.
I Hate Records posted two new songs on their MySpace player earlier this month. Check out The Wounded Kings' "The Sons of Belial" taken from the album "The Shadow Over Atlantis" and Hellish Crossfire's "Night of the Possessed" taken from the album "Bloodrust Scythe." Both albums will be released early January 2010.
