Dead To Fall Announces Farewell Show

Dead To Fall has issued the following statement about a farewell show:

"Back in 1999, there was a little band out of suburban Chicagoland honing a sound that would shape the sound of metalcore in the Midwest for years to come. Who knew that this band, Dead To Fall, would go on to release 4 full-length albums on Victory Records and tour the world several times over with everyone from Napalm Death to Darkest Hour to Kingdom of Sorrow to Obituary, and play numerous festivals on US and international soil, including Hellfest, Pressure Fest (Germany), New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, and Power Fest (Netherlands). As if that wasn’t incredible enough, Dead to Fall’s career spanned a solid 9 years while the band managed to play close to 1,000 shows all across the globe. To say they created a sound and legacy for many young Midwestern bands as well as bands around the country to follow would be an understatement.

"Sadly, last April, while on their headlining tour in support of the release of the band’s 4th studio album Are You Serious?, the constant touring finally made Dead To Fall collapse under their own weight. Vocalist Jon Hunt said, ‘We just fell apart. After so many lineup changes, tour struggles, and internal struggles, it was just time to let it go.’ The band cancelled the remainder of their headlining tour and went their separate ways.

"Almost exactly one year later, Dead To Fall is excited to announce their final farewell show – a proper way to say goodbye to their original hometown, Chicago. Hunt said, ‘After we decided to split up, it just never felt right to not play one last time in Chicago, the city where we got our start. After about a year of planning and debating how to pull it off we decided to do this show, but with as many members from our history as possible. I'm so excited to be able to share the stage again with so many of the friends I've had over the years in the band. A lot of the people who got into the band in the last 4 years never got to see the original lineup play the first record live, or V&V for that matter. We wanted to send this band into history on a positive note, embracing all of the records equally in the form that they should have been heard live - with the people who wrote the music performing.’ More...

There really isn’t an easy way to say this, but the DEAD TO FALL machine broke beyond repair . . . UTV Posts Dead To Fall Concert Video Online

Minneapolis’ DEAD TO FALL, which has officially split up, has posted some past live concert footage performing their perhaps prophetically entitled track "All My Heroes Have Failed Me" from a show in 2007 at Northern Lights in Albany NY.

You can view the band’s live videos at The Underground Video Television website.

Regarding the band’s recent break up vocalist Jonathan Hunt stated: "DEAD TO FALL is no more. After nine years, it's time to say goodbye. There really isn't an easy way to say this, but the DEAD TO FALL machine broke beyond repair . . . . I guess the financial, personal, and emotional strains wore some of us down and caused a violent collapse."

"After a show in Wisconsin, Logan [Kelly, guitar] and Chad [M. Fjerstad, bass] quit this past weekend. I won't go into the whole 'behind-the-music-band-break-up' scenario, but it was a night filled with retarded actions and words. The rest of us don't want to go through yet another major lineup change and really are just ready for a new chapter in our lives."

Dead To Fall Members Arrested On Drugs Charges

Select members of Dead To Fall were arrested for drug charges in Tennessee on Valentine's Day. Dead To Fall had the following to say about the incident:

"On our way to eat at the local soup kitchen for the homeless, various members of our band were detained after a local 'super cop' used his hawk-like vision to notice a lack of proper seatbelt usage. In a baffling twist of events, the officer speculated that out of the five of us sketchy looking dudes that live in the van, one or more of us could have been 'reefering.' After being questioned and searched, we were charged, processed, and released in time to still perform later that evening in Louisville, KY."

The band will resume their "Arthropodan Eroticism" tour with Winds of Plague, Impending Doom, and With Dead Hands Rising.

Assuming they are not unjustly incarcerated, Dead To Fall will be playing their sobering brand of party metal along Kingdom of Sorrow, Turmoil, and Thy Will Be Done. The dates are as follows:

2/27 Worcester, MA @ Palladium (upstairs)
2/28 Baltimore, MD @ Ottobar
2/29 Philadelphia, PA @ North Side Bar
2/1 Albany, NY @ Valentines
2/2 New York, NY @ Knitting Factory
2/4 Toronto, ONT @ El Macombo
2/5 Cleveland, OH @ Peabody's
2/7 Detroit, MI @ Magic Stick

Dead To Fall's fourth full-length, Are You Serious?, will be released February 19th ovia Victory Records.
