Germany's Jack Slater has checked in with the following update about the band's current status:
"Return of the Sleeping Dead! I admit it, we have been a bit lazy and unmotivated the last couple of months. With a new (awesome!) album that certainly isn't the best course of action, but sometimes there is nothing you can do.
"We are no pro band, but nevertheless (or because of that!?) a band like Jack Slater still demands a lot of time for organization, administration and promotion. We gave a 100% for many years now and whenever someone needed a time out, someone else took his place and did the work. This time, however, no one really felt responsible for it and the different members had different things to do in life, that's why Jack Slater has been a bit too quiet the last couple of months... not anymore!
"To get my own (Horn) motivation back, I did what I always do in these situations: everything old has to go and be redone. That is why I did a complete relaunch of our Official Site. In the next days I will finish the new site and update the MySpace page and all the other sites we run with all the news, infos, reviews and stuff of the last months. More...

German metallers Jack Slater have issued the following announcement about the release of their new album:
"We are proud to announce that Jack Slater and the label Unundeux joined forces to release the 4th Jack Slater album 'Extinction Aftermath' on 26 February 2010! The guys behind Unundeux are the guys from the German grind legends Japanische Kampfhoerspiele, who decided back in 2009 that they want to have full control over their music. So they started their own label to release future JaKa releases!
"Now we will join this small family to release our new album with full control over everything, but with a professional label, promo and distribution structure strengthening our backs! Official Distribution will be taken care of by Cargo Records, a well known Distributor. Look at their band rooster and you will know where a lot of your favorite albums come from. We really look forward to this collaboration and believe we have a very strong album for you guys, that you will love as much as we do! More information, songs, previews, videos, stuff, hot chicks and more hot chicks will be presented to you in the upcoming weeks before the release, so be sure to check back regularly!"
German metallers Jack Slater have issued the following update about parting ways with their guitarist and drummer:
"With the new year getting started, it's time to present you some line-up changes for 2010. We wouldn't be Jack Slater if we wouldn't mix it up a little now and then, now would we? The mercenary year for Robert, one of our guitarist, is over. He joined Jack Slater a year ago, but he said from the beginning it won't be forever. He works a lot and doesn't have the time to play in Jack Slater and his other two bands, so he helped us out in 2009, and we are very thankful for that. Robert is a really nice guy with a tremendous talent as a guitarist. We are very happy to have played a year with him and he had a great impact on our soon to be released 4th album 'Extinction Aftermath.' In the future he will however join us for some concerts here and there, but not every single one. So he is not gone forever, but will not be present every time you see Jack Slater live on stage. Right now we are not looking for someone to replace him. However, if you feel like you would be a perfect fit, you can apply, maybe you will change our mind on that topic?
"David, our drummer, is moving to Berlin right now to follow his girlfriend over there. You can't challenge love, so there is no point in trying to make him stay, hehe. This young talented drummer will sure mix up the berlin music scene quite a bit, so look out for this charming drum machine. He will play his last two concerts with Jack Slater in Leipzig and on the Winternachtstraum Festival 2010 in February. More...
Vocalist Horn of German death metal act Jack Slater has issued the following statement about performing guest vocals on the upcoming Guerrilla album:
"Hey there, our friends from German death thrash band 'Guerrilla' are releasing their new album 'Kickstart Revolution' as a download album in January 2010. I did a guest appearance on one song called 'Plagueraiser,' which you can prelisten on their MySpace Page now, so go and check it out if you like!"
Jack Slater has issued the following update about releasing a new album:
"Our 4th album is gonna be called 'Extinction Aftermath' and will contain 10 tracks that easily be the best songs Jack Slater has recorded yet! Svencho, sexy Singer of Aborted, again did a great job with the cover and somehow connects with the artwork from our last album 'Blut/Macht/Frei'. We printed some covers for the label promo and they look really awesome! I like!
"The album will contain pretty diverse tracks, all death metal, but everyone with a slightly different approach. For example, the 4th track 'Funkenflug' will be something you have never heard before from Jack Slater, but you will love it! I promise! Every track turned out great and will please everyone who likes intelligent death metal, that's more than just blasting away. All we have left to do is find a fitting label and a release date, then it's time to unleash the album."
The track list for "Extinction Aftermath" is as follows:
5. Happy Hour
7. 4 8 15 16 23 42
9. Resser Frednik
10. Extinction Aftermath
German death metallers Jack Slater have issued the following update about delays in the release of their new promo album:
"In case you are wondering, we are still in hold-mode for the label promo, because we decided we wanted to send the promo-cd out as the complete package with the actual cover artwork. And because Svencho is still working on it, we didn't send out our album, yet. But hopefully he'll be finished soon and we can get the first responses from the labels. Awesomeness takes its time!
"Take care, Horn & Jack Slater"
