Swiss metallers Omophagia have checked in with the following update about working on a new album:
"Time to give a brief update what's happening at Omophagia's sluthouse: I'm sorry that I didn't write that often (which I usually don't do anyway) but at the moment I have a serious reason ;-): we currently have some technical problems with the website. This is also the reason why we can't post any gigs anymore. I hope that we will be able to fix that very soon...
"But now to the interesting part: to sum up we can say that 2013 is and will be a special year for us: As you probably know we have been working on our studio (for more infos have a look at our photo gallery). We spent many sleepless nights, rivers of sweat and blood (and sometimes tears) to complete this shit. However we are very pleased that the result turned out to be great!
"We bought a new mixing console and will invest some money on good outboard equipment, especially analogue compressors. Then we added some acoustic treatment to the live room (especially for higher frequencies), the recording room will follow in a few weeks. After that we will do some fine tuning by acoustic measurements. As you see there are still some minor tasks to do but we are at the point where we can say IT'S DONE!! More...
Omophagia, which split with its drummer earlier this year, has now issued the following announcement about recruiting new member Wild:
"We are glad to announce that we finally found a new drummer! In the last months we had an intensive time rehearsing with a few candidates to fill the huge gap which Lehmä had left at the beginning of this year. We felt that it would not be easy to find a suitable person but surprisingly we soon had the honor to rehearse with some very talented guys who were interested in the job. I couldn't imagine that there are so many young and talented death metal drummers in our tiny country. Thank you very much that you spent your time and sweat with us!
"But now to the most important part: It was not an easy decision to find out which drummer would suit us best but in the end the decision was quite clear: The guy that will take the seat behind the drums is called 'Wild,' and the name says it all!
"Wild can look back on a long metal-career and is already experienced in all important Deathmetal-skills. He's aged 27 and played in a few combos quite known here in Switzerland (Stoned Hill, Fragment of Symmetry). We are also very glad that he's as spoiled and nasty as we are and so he fits perfectly to the rest of the band!
"Wild convinced us by his professional way to learn the songs. He learned them all by himself by our drum and guitar tracks and just blew us away when he started playing them at our rehearsal-room. We really can't wait to hit the stages again and if the progress will be as fast as in the last weeks, this will be very soon!
"Be prepared to see Omophagia as brutal as never before! See ya guys!"
Omophagia has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with the band's drummer:
"Hello my friends. I have the sad duty to tell you that Lehmä won't be part of Omophagia anymore.
"It has not been by far an easy decision but in the end we all came to the conclusion that it would be the best for everyone of us that way. This is possibly the worst point of time to happen but the reason why we decided this is the direction of Lehmä's career bracket which turned out to be more and more time-intensive so that Lehmä will probably not be able anymore to spend enough time to keep Omophagia at the same level. This fact won't change in near future and it really makes no sense to all of us to continue that way.
"I am very sad to lose Lehmä for Omophagia since he is an absolutely great musician but also because he is such a great and correct person, a real friend to all of us! We have spent such a great and unforgettable time together and I'm really thankful for that. Also I'm really thankful for what Lehmä has done to the band, Omophagia wouldn't be at the point where we are without the strong effort of Lehmä. Lehmä, we wish you all the best and much success for all your aims you have in mind and hope to see you still regularly!
"As a consequence we are looking for a new drummer, if you are interested please leave a message at www.omophagia.ch or contact us via myspace. It is probably important to say that our release-party won't be endangered by this. Deniz from Disparaged will play the drums at the 14. mai. We are very glad that Deniz will help us out! See ya at the 14th of May."
Omophagia has checked in with the following update about streaming two new songs online:
"After several announcements we eventually came to the point where we can say, everything is about to be ready for a terrific release of our Debut Album 'GUILT BY NESCIENCE' on 14 May in Zug (check out live section). We've been working hard behind drawn curtains for a while now. Omophagia has issued the following announcement about the band's upcoming album:
"Hi folks, 'dlkhgoihgheghjfkahfuiha!' This was the message Hiqui texted us after having listened to our mastered songs from the Hertz studio to express his enthusiasm. The Hertz studio has been responsible for catchy finishings on several albums from brilliant bands such as Behemoth, Decapitated, Kronos, Hate or Vader. Working with them was an awesome experience and I can only say they did a stunning job with our material. The sound comes with a hell lot of pressure and at the same time leaves room for every single instrument. The track list will look as follows:
2. The Ultimate Beginning
3. Guilt By Nescience
4. Gain From Suffering
5. Virtual Leader
6. Actio Et Reactio
8. D – Generation
9. Quest For Unhappiness
10. War On Mammon
"You can check out a selection of new songs on our newly designed myspace page in about two weeks. Our new design was created by Raphael Gabrio. Not only did Raphael design our myspace. He also completely inspired us with his fantastic job on our booklet as well as on the merchandise designs. With his art we produced t-shirts, sweaters and girlies which can be purchased either on our homepage or at our concerts soon. Official Album Release will take place on 14 May 2011. Take this opportunity and check out all our new songs live for the very first time. Looking forward to seeing you there."
Swiss band Omophagia has issued the following announcement about the release date for the band's debut album:
"It is my big pleasure to officially announce the release-date of our debut album Guilt By Nescience. The release party will take place on 14 May 2011 at the i45 in Zug. Moreover, we have the great pleasure to announce that Carnal Decay will release their forthcoming album the same evening. But this is not the whole story: Not only will Disavowed (NL) headline this show but also will we be supported by Arkhan (CH) and Mastication Of Brutality Uncontrolled (DE)!
"We feel honored to have the opportunity to release our first album with such talented and well-known artists. Already now, we’re craving for this to happen! Thanks to MehSuff who will organize everything!
"In the meantime, we will do the finishing of the recordings, artwork and new merch. The Hertz studio is booked for march. They will do the mixing and mastering for us, and the artwork and merch is almost completed. So, everything is on schedule in order to be ready for the 14 May.
"We did two gigs with our drummer Lehmä since he has returned from Singapore. He did an amazing job at this two concerts, especially if you respect that he weren't able to practice on real drums for about a half a year. It feels really good to have our good friend back in the band and that we are looking forward to playing many upcoming shows together again.
"By the way, we have updated our photo gallery. You can have a look at it at here. We will add more pictures soon, for example those of our gig from yesterday. In this spirit, have a good weekend and we will see us on 14 May 2011 at i45 in Zug (don't miss that!!!)."
Swiss act Omophagia has issued the following update about working on a new album:
"Rome wasn’t built in a day and so we are still working on the record for our first album. We are currently recording the vocal-tracks for the last songs and next we will send them to Poland to mix and master our album. The Christmas time will be a good time to complete the work. Meanwhile, we have played three concerts to test the new songs and the audience seemed to appreciate them. Hopefully you will like the new stuff as well when you get the opportunity to listen to it. At this point, we would like to thank Deniz from the well-known Swiss band Disparaged who helped out with drumming for these three concerts while our regular drummer Lehmä stayed in Singapore for study-reasons.
"We were really glad and felt honored to work together with such a talented drummer who invested quite a lot of time to learn and to play our music. We would also like to thank Disparaged that they made it possible for us to let the omophagie-machine keep rolling while Lehmä was absent. Thank you guys, you are awesome!"
Swiss death metallers Omophagia have checked in with the following recording update:
"It's high time for another update and finally I managed to give you a short statement to what’s going on at the Omophagia-camp. Normally we try to keep you informed as regularly as we can but at the moment we are very busy with the recordings and everything that comes with it. As I told you earlier our recording work got delayed due to several reasons and in the meantime the delay grew even more. We have spent and still spend every single free minute into that album and sometimes the work doesn't seem to have no end.
"But as you all know 'haste makes waste' and the good thing is that we are all really satisfied with the output. And in the end this is what really matters! We would have never imagined that this would have been possible after only 3 years of Omophagia's existence. More...
Swiss death metallers Omophagia have issued the following recording update:
"Hi folks. Let me give you guys a brief update about what’s going in our bunker. After an intense period of writing new songs and bringing the arrangements to perfection, we fortunately managed to finalize the tracks on time. So that even the drummer had some days left to practice his patterns. As scheduled, we’ve entered the studio on December 18 to start with the drum tracks. We knew that this year’s Christmas Eve would be special… There was no possibility to extensively kick back with our beloved ones as we’ve spent most of the time in our stinky studio. Somehow I feel sorry for that.
"BUT: The work was definitely worth it!!! All of the drum parts are done now. (There will be some video updates soon…). To some extent the drum parts were pretty challenging for me to play… and honestly: Quite few times I could curse the freaking metronome. However, beer, redbull and pizza helped to hang in there. I hope, you will like the drumming…
"As the drum records were done faster than anticipated, we have now been able to start with the guitars. I am really amazed about the guitar sound. It just sounds killing! By the way: we’re looking forward to our next gig on January 23 at the Rotting Tank Festival! Hope to see you there. Ok guys, that’s it for the moment. Stay tuned!
Swiss death metallers Omophagia have issued the following update about writing new material:
"I'd just like to tell you what's happening at the Omophagia-camp at the moment. As you all know we are working hard to get the new CD done as soon as possible and fortunately things seem to work out great. We make good progress in the songwriting process and hope that we can start recording the new shit even within this year. So far 8 songs have been finished and since we are always working on several tracks at the same time you can be sure more tracks will be completed soon. Be prepared to listen to the most brutal stuff you ever heard from Omophagia!
"As I told you earlier we will give few concerts this winter because of the songwriting process. To be more precise we will only do ONE! The so called 'Rotting Tank Festival' will take place at the capitol city of Switzerland, in Bern. The date will be the 22th and 23th of January and the venue is called Gaskessel. Here are the bands that will play with us: God Dethroned, Confector, Asag, Knowhere, Bloody Blasphemy
"By the way take a look at these bands, they all are really great. Especially I would like to call your attention to the blackmetal act Asag. I did the recording and mixing of their new album 'Feuer zieh mit mir' which they will present at this event. A real interesting act, don't miss it! Hope to see you guys there and who knows, probably we are able to show you some new shit! So for those who can't wait, we will se ya there!"
Swiss death metallers Omophagia have issued the following announcement about canceling their upcoming October 10th tour date:
"I have the unpleasant duty to tell you that we had to cancel our gig at the metal 4 metal at the 10th of October. It's the first time that we have to do this and I'm really sorry that I couldn't tell it to you earlier. It is due to my annual military service which I couldn't change for this weekend. I'm really sorry for any inconvenience and hope to see you soon at our next gig."
Omophagia has also announced that they have begun working on a new album which is schedule to be finished in early 2010.
