Dead Horse Trauma has issued the following announcement about canceling tonight's Spring Lake Park, Minnesota show due to weather conditions:
"This is probably worst post I've had to write. The interstate north of us is closed in multiple places preventing us from making it to Minnesota. The governor has just declared it a national emergency. Everyone had been instructed to stay off these roads.
"This is the first show DHT has ever had to cancel. We are sorry and we will be back up there to rock your Minnesotan faces as soon as we can.
"Unfortunately this also means we won't be making it to Fargo either as we've flown in our engineer for studio time Sunday.
"The last thing we want to do is let down any of our fans, we're sorry we won't be joining you, but there is still an amazing line up we encourage our fans to go see." More...

Today in the U.S. we celebrate Memorial Day, which honors the men and women in our armed services and those who have given their lives to protect us. Metal bands across the U.S. have been commenting on the holiday, and here you can see a variety of statements posted online from different groups.
To all our veterans, young and old, and to all actively deployed U.S. troops, thank you so much for the sacrifices made on our behalf both for this generation, those before us, and the ones yet to come. Enjoy your freedoms today and time with friends and family, for that freedom came at an unimaginable cost. So, once again, thank you Vets!!! We honor you all today and give you our support and appreciation.
We appreciated and respect EVERY Veteran every where, go thank a Veteran today.
We at Castle Dischordia would like to thank the brave men and women (and their families) who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Thank you.
Scythe Of Dante
For all the soldiers that fought and died for both you and I, We salute you.
Take time today to remember those who sacrifice for country and cause. Remember those who do the hard work of the armed forces when they're tired, when their family lives are taxed, and when things look darkest. Thank you all.More...
Each week we chat up bands and fans everywhere to get their favorite pit stories and tales from live shows. This week's story of alcohol induced mayhem comes courtesy of Dead Horse Trauma, which recently released the new album "Tellus Hodiernus Caducus" (reviewed here). Below is vocalist Eric Davidson's retelling of a fan's run in with the police at a show in Fargo.
First thing that comes to mind was a show at The Nestor Tavern in Fargo, ND. We didn't know it at the time, but we were having some really uncomfortable conversations with this shady drunk guy, who had minutes before stabbed his roommate for taking his liquor. I didn't notice the blood on his shirt while he was talking to me, but my band mates saw it. Cops were swarming the house next to the venue, and eventually this guy ended up getting slammed against the back of our RV and arrested. Made for some sweet footage that we used on our video for "No Recollection."
Check back again next Tuesday as we continue to share more pit stories from metal fans and musicians.

Seth Peters of Dead Horse Trauma has issued the following update about changing the venue for their upcoming "Infestation" CD release party on November 28th:
"Hey all, just a quick update on Dead Horse Trauma's CD release party in Lake View, IA. The concert has been moved due to circumstances beyond our control. Conveniently the show has been moved just right across the street. That’s right, were playing inside town hall. It will be on the second floor of the community building DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE AMERICAN LEGION. Signs will be posted so no worries on how to find the concert hall. This will be the only change to the concert, same great line-up, same great price, and a great opportunity to see the finest talent around. So know that I've explained that, let’s get down to how this took place.
"Have you ever been discriminated against because of your age or who you are? We obviously have. There was an agreement made between our booking agent and the Lake View American Legion Hall to rent out their building; the price was given, the agreement was made, and the date was set. I go visit the venue and check out the aesthetics, still no problem. Then they start seeing the posters and see the media coverage and now there's an issue. Here's what they came at me with: Issue 1.) Alcohol....to which we replied no problem, dry party, we will serve cookies and milk if that pleases you...Issue 2,) Too many people...to which we replied, ‘what is the fire marshal code on the building...’...they had the nerve to tell me they didn't know, which makes any event that they hold there AGAINST THE LAW, yet they continue to hold their own events.... so they have someone come and take measurements telling us that they would know immediately by putting the measurements into a formula provided by the fire marshal himself.
