Over 20 years ago, while a student at Fort Collins High School, Aaron Beam of Red Fang helped stand up for music programs put at risk due to lack of funding. Today, Portland schools are struggling to fully fund art, photography, ceramics, and other arts classes. Red Fang is honored to headline this benefit to give Portland students greater access to the arts, and have basic materials like paint, paper, and clay.
This special event "A Benefit For Grant High Art Department" is scheduled to take place Friday May 25th at the Hawthorne Theater in Portland, OR. Red Fang's Aaron Beam commented on the state of Grant High's Arts Program: "It is a shame that Grant High's arts are underfunded, and a bit mysterious to me. Young artists looking for cheap venues to create and display their works move to and revitalize cities and neighborhoods. It happens repeatedly. I watched it happen in Portland in the 1990s, with artist communities such as The Lab and The Modern Zoo, and clubs like the X-Ray." More...

The Asymmetry Festival will be taking place from May 3rd - 5th in Poland, with full details available here. The following press release was issued about the fest:
"Asymmetry Festival is a unique event on the Central European scale. Successfully organized since four years, draws fans of the alternative music scene not only from Poland, but Germany, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary and many other neighbouring countries as well. The festival constantly develops its formula in continuous searches for new music genres – genres which defy labelling. The event will take place, for the first time, in a special location on the map of Wroclaw – the XIXc. building of the Browar Mieszczanski [Bourgeois Brewery], which since many years is an important cultural point of the city.
"Apart from the location, the assumptions and priorities in attitude towards the invited artists have changed as well. Among the 40 bands performing there, there is a numerous group of innovative projects, which are difficult to come across on any European festival stage. So side by side with the legendary Sleep, Killing Joke, Red Fang or Amenra, the guests of Asymmetry will also witness performances of all-star groups, created exclusively to in order to open the artistic floodgates of musical visions and the need to evolve.
"Let yourself be carried away by the fun. Come to Wroclaw and become witnesses of something huge."

Drummer John Sherman spoke about the "Hank is Dead" video: "Another great concept from the brilliant mind of Whitey McConnaughy. This one came together super quick with the help of some insane Portland locals and their sick air guitar skills. We basically just threw a big party and had a blast while a bunch of cameras ran. That is my shower Aaron and Bryan and Bobcat are in at the intro, btw. It still has a weird ring around it..."
