Devar Checks In With New Road Report

Norwegian metallers Devar have checked in from their current tour with the following road report:

"We've played Amsterdam. Wow! To get our gear to the venue, we had to load all of it from our hanger onto Whorrid's camper, walk across town, and wait for the camper to find its way. And the same routine afterwards. Tiny venue, crap sound on stage, but reports say that we still kicked ass. Wish we could have gotten to see some of the city, but there's always next time. Antwerpen was great, though. Great venue, cool audience and fantastic beer.

"Eindhoven was a technical nightmare. Otto and Aadlands pedals stopped working, while Odlands guitar decided not to work anymore. We fought on, though, and did our part to rock the Rambler. After a nice day off in Rottedam, we just played a great gig at the fantastic venue Baroeg. Great crowd, nice and big stage, and the crew working here has been amazing to us. Hope to come back another time. Tomorrow - Terneuzen, then our homecoming shows in Bergen. Check them out if you can."

The upcoming Devar tour dates are as follows:

4/4 2010 De Pit Terneuzen, Netherlands
4/9 2010 Club Bizarre Bergen, Norway
4/10 2010 Garage Bergen, Norwa

Devar Issues New Road Report

Norway's Devar has checked in with the following update from the road:

"So we've done a couple more gigs now. First was Bratislava. That was a cool venue! And if we had stayed there long enough, we could have checked the city out. Then we headed back to Germany for a couple of more shows. First was the Cottbus one where the really cool pictures came from in our previous blog, than there was Rostock. Der Alte Zuckerfabrik is not the place to be in Germany. What a fucked up place. We're never putting our feet there again. Drinking was the only solution. We drank to forget. OttoEgil especially did a good job there... Next place however in Greifswald was killer! Great venue, great turn-up and a great gig. And what an epic shower!

"Day off in Hamburg was great! We spent some time here and got really accustomed to the local cuisine. Otto tasted the Eisbein (feet of Pig). He even claimed to like it=) Tonight's gig was also a really cool one. Low turn up on a monday, but we kicked arse nonetheless. Now we've got 4 dates in the Netherlands and one in Belgium, and then we're hitting Bergen again. ...hard!"

Devar Checks In From The Road

Norway's Devar has checked in from the road with the following tour report:

"The first two dates have gone reasonably well. First one was at the tour bus company lot, where we played in the bus washing hall. Everybody was initially a bit suspicious about the venue, but it turned out to be an OK show. Next up was Klagenfurt in Austria. A really cool looking club and everything went smooth. We're also getting to know all the guys in the other bands. They're all cool. We kinda like the vibe the American thrash bands send out on this tour. We also confirmed for ourselves that taking Imbalance with us to the homecoming gigs in Bergen is a really great idea.

"Third day became somewhat special. This is in Szerencs, Hungary. The venue seemed more fitting to host a wedding reception than a metal gig. First thing that happened was the promotors greeting everyone with a beer. Not the kind "do you want a beer?" but "Beer!" so rigging took twice as long since everyone only could use one hand (do not disturb the drinking hand). The meal of the day was a traditional Hungarian meal, which consisted of a very thin soup, and (probably) beef in gravy served with macaroni(!!). Odland demanded Obdsaija to bring out the Berzerker hot sauce, which made the meal edible. More...

Devar Reveals New Album Details

Code666 Records have issued the following statement about releasing a new album from Norwegian black metallers Devar:

"The Norwegian Devar are making their debut on code666.

"Their Album 'Alternate Endings' is scheduled to hit worldwide stores on September 29th, 2009. Showing courage and talent, they have decided to take the nearly-dying music market by surprise with a musical hybrid that is not easily categorized, where the rock of the '50s goes arm in arm with the Norwegian black metal, bearing unexpected and impressive results: ten little black pearls of retro dark rock stained by splashes of northern black metal. Recorded and Mixed at conclave Media Studio by Bjornar E.Nilsen (Taake, Helheim...) cover artwork by Mauro Berchi (Canaan)."

The track listing for “Alternate Endings” will be as follows:

1. Siren

5. Scourger
6. Black 6
7. The dirge
8. ...of my dead skull
