After the recent release of the EP "Perspective," it is with heavy hearts that vocalist Elliot Coleman and Tesseract have parted ways. Bassist Amos Williams commented:
"Sadly, our good buddy Elliot has decided to leave team TesseracT. We'd like to thank Elliot for everything he has done for us. We have loved having him be a part of this beast. He introduced us to a completely different side of our sound, as well the delights of Pho! Things we will always be grateful for.
"So, as well as continuing to write and record album 2, we are also on the hunt for that special (shpecial) person to be the new full-time TesseracT vocalist."

Tesseract has just made "Dream Brother" available as a stream via Metal Hammer UK's website, so head over here to check out this very special cover of the song.
Amos Williams (bass) comments: "We decided to cover 'Dream Brother' (originally by Jeff Buckley) for an acoustic session in New York. Myself and Acle spent ages looking at different tracks. I think we entertained 'Tear Drop' by Massive Attack, 'Thin Air' by Anathema, and many more. But 'Dream Brother' just fits Tesseract very well. Plus it is one of our collective favourite tracks. It's always a risk working with a track that you love, but we feel we did it justice. It's a great showcase for the musicianship in Tesseract, and the deep emotive power that Elliot has added to the band since he joined."
"Dream Brother" will be out on the "Perspective" EP that is set for a North American release of May 22nd and a European release of May 21st. The five song digital only EP features "Eden 2.0," acoustic versions of three tracks ["Perfection (acoustic)," "April (acoustic)," "Origin (acoustic)," from the band's debut album, "One," plus the aforementioned cover of Jeff Buckley's classic, "Dream Brother." As a bonus, iTunes will offer instrumentals of all the songs on the EP.

Held in Asbury Park, NJ, Tesseract will perform on May 20th, appearing alongside a number of impressive performers. The band commented:
"Festivals are always great to do, but for our first US festival to be Bamboozle is crazy. To be on the same bill as Incubus, Foo Fighters and Bon Jovi is a great boost for us. Bamboozle has a great tradition of mixing things up, and the bill for the 10 year anniversary festival looks to be adhering firmly to this, with bands like TesseracT, Periphery and Whitechapel sharing the stage with Skrillex, Jimmy Eat World and All American Rejects. It looks like it's going to be great fun!"

"It was recorded and mixed in glorious 5.1 surround sound by Francesco Cameli at the prestigious Sphere Studios, and then mastered by Andrew 'Hippy' Baldwin at Metropolis Studios during December 2010. After the track was completed, the band went directly into shooting a music video for the single, which was premiered earlier this week and can be seen here.

"We're really happy with how Eden 2.0 turned out, and as a gift to all of our wonderful friends we'd like to share it with you guys for free, as a token of our appreciation for your support over the last few years." Says bassists Amos Williams. "We had always wanted to revisit 'Eden' and Elliot joining our fold gave us the perfect opportunity to do such a thing. We hope that this, along with the beautiful and haunting video for its release directed by Ganesh Rao, is a fitting introduction to the world of the new TesseracT sound ahead of the new album which we aim to start writing soon."

TesseracT has gone back to the band's roots with the release of an instrumental version of "One." Check out the song below. Bassist Amos Williams explains:
“TesseracT began as an instrumental project in Acle's filthy cat ridden bedroom, so it has always had quite a strong instrumental focus. That's not to say that we don't enjoy vocals, we love them! But, it is worth noting that with every song we write, we like for it to be able to stand up on its own with or without vocals. We've always had the mind to, about six months after the initial release of 'One', to then release the instrumental version. It’s something that the fans have always asked us to do, and we felt now was the correct time to do so.”
