Ahead of the release of the brand new studio album "Polaris" from TesseracT, the band is today giving fans worldwide a chance to hear new album track “Messenger.” Give it a listen below.
The single is also available for iTunes purchase and as an instant gratification track for those who pre-order the album. Vocalist Dan Tompkins comments on the track:
“The concept of our new album, 'Polaris' is simple; it is about the transient nature of universal truth. There is no such thing as an absolute fixed human concept that will forever be the truth. Perhaps that is a message most of us can't or don't want to listen to but 'Messenger' highlights an ever growing awakening from the onslaught of the social conditioning we’re exposed to everyday from the media. The truth constantly obscured and the public subdued by ‘Casting fear into doubt.’”
New album "Polaris" will drop September 18, 2015 via Kscope and eOne Music. "TesseracT has been through a roller coaster of a ride since our first EP," says the band. "We seemed to always have been filling the holes in our ship's hull to stop this ship from sinking, as we raced around the world time and time again."
The new LP will followup to the "Altered State" LP (reviewed here) that was released in 2013. The new release will be the band’s third studio album and first for Kscope and eOne. According to the band: "'Polaris,' is a different scenario. The first chance for us as a group to stop and take stock of what we are right now, to explore a TesseracT of melody, dynamics, and singular focus. For the first time, too, we feel free from the bounds of genre specific expectations." More...

Tesseract has issued the following announcement about dropping off two upcoming Texas appearances:
"It's with the deepest regret that due to reasons outside of our control, Tesseract are no longer able to play the Texas Independent Festival in Austin or The Bomb Factory in Dallas next month.
"A combination of visa issues and unlucky timing have meant that despite our hardest efforts, it is simply not possible for us to get to the USA for these shows. We are totally gutted as we've been looking forward to playing with some of our really good friends, drinking lonestar and eating Texan steak, but most importantly playing to you guys.
"We will however be touring the U.S. later this year with dates in both cities and we may have some new music to play you by then too. Once again, we are very sorry for any disappointment caused, but we'll make it up to you in the fall."
Tesseract will release the CD / DVD package "Odyssey/Scala" in physical and digital formats on May 18th in Europe and May 19th in North America via Century Media Records.

After signing with Kscope and bringing back former vocalist Daniel Tompkins, Tesseract is now working on a new live CD and DVD. The band comments:
“This is a very special moment in the career of TesseracT, we have in essence gone full circle with the return of Daniel Tompkins as our vocalist. There is an enthusiasm and energy amongst the band that we wished to capture for CD and DVD.
"So, we have been recording as many shows as possible on this tour in the hopes of producing a very best of live CD. Where we take one song from one show, say Nocturne in Rome, and maybe April from this year's headline set at Euroblast. It's very challenging both artistically and technically, but if any band can pull it off at this level, TesseracT can. More...
After the band split with its vocalist during the Summer, Kscope is thrilled to announce that U.K. heavy prog act TesseracT will be joining the label's family.
Bassist Amos Williams comments: "Really looking forward to discovering the possibilities of working with such a creative label. We admire everything Kscope's done with bands like Anathema, Katatonia and Steven Wilson, and can't wait to see where they will guide TesseracT in this new chapter of the band. Very excited!"
In the continuing saga of Tesseract parting ways with front men, Ashe O'Hara has now departed the band and Daniel Tompkins is returning to the fold. Tesseract comments:
"We have amicably parted ways with Ashe as we have found ourselves in different places, creatively. Ashe is a fantastic talent and will continue to be successful in his career and we wish him the absolute best!
"Moving forward for TesseracT – Daniel Tompkins will be rejoining us as a full time member of the band. Starting from our main stage performance at Sonisphere, UK on 05.07.14. We are also looking forward to starting writing and recording album three with Daniel, which will begin later this year."
Daniel Tompkins was previously with the band before Elliot Coleman, who parted ways with Tesseract back in 2012.
Tesseract has released a video clip for "Of Matter," shot live at Sphere Studios, which can be seen below. The track comes off the "Altered State" album (reviewed here), released via Century Media Records in 2013.
U.K. progressive rock band TesseracT will once again be returning to North America. It will be the band's third tour supporting the critically acclaimed "Altered State" album (see review here).
Former touring partners, Intronaut, who will be fresh off a tour of their own with Between The Buried and Me and Deafheaven will be direct support. To make these events even more special, instrumentalists, DIY prog artist, Cloudkicker, will be touring for the first time ever with the members of Intronaut as his backing band.
"Last year we spent a few short weeks with a bunch of west coast musicians called Intronaut, stalwarts of the scene who have been honing their skills for years into an awesome blend of progressive jazz tinged metal. For as long as we can remember there has been a home studio producer of genre defying music called Cloudkicker. He has until now been restricted to the studio. So, it's with great pleasure that we get to rejoin our brothers in Intronaut, and be a part of Cloudkicker's first ever tour! This will be seriously fun."
"When we first met Ben a few years back and discovered the Cloudkicker album "Beacons", we unanimously fell in love with it and have since bugged him to let us be his band. Now it is finally happening. Intronaut is absolutely over the moon about this once in a lifetime opportunity for Cloudkicker fans to hear his stuff live. Sweetening the deal even further is the fact that we get to do the tour with our favorite British chaps in TesseracT. This tour is going to kick ass!"
Cloudkicker, aka, Ben Sharp elaborates:
"This just happened to be a time when Intronaut was free and, incredibly, I was able to get the entire month of April off from work. We have been in touch since 2010 and they had told me a few times that we could make this happen, but it wasn't until last fall that I decided to give it an honest effort. Having the professionalism and technical proficiency of a band like Intronaut was the piece of the puzzle that finally encouraged me to pursue this since they are making it so easy for me. I know that when we show up for the first night of the tour everything will be locked in and we can just focus on having a good time." More...
TesseracT have posted their video for the track "Nocturne," taken from the latest album, "Altered State" (see review here). The video was directed by Ben Thornley for Sitcom Soldiers.
The band commented on the video: "As we haven't taken part in our promo videos for a while we felt now was the time to make an appearance. But, we also wanted to create a journey with the video that was similar to the journey portrayed by the music. A pretty straightforward step from the night, what it hides and the fear it generates, into the reassurance and safety of the dawn. We have always really liked the idea of creating silhouettes (we tried to something similar with our first video, "Deception"), so we decided upon using back lights for the majority of the video, which is then reversed when the feeling of the music changes towards the end of the track. We feel the guys at Sitcom Soldiers have really captured the mood of the song, and also produced a video that draws you in."
Ben Thornley who produced the video for Sitcom Soldiers states: "Working with TesseracT for us was about capturing something which did a great song justice with a memorable performance, whilst providing an equally provocative atmospheric narrative. The band naturally looked great and the creative process went very smoothly and shows in the final video."

TesseracT will be returning to North America for two upcoming tours. First the band will hit the road with Katatonia, Cult of Luna, and Intronaut. That tour begins September 23rd in Boston, MA and runs through October 7th in San Francisco, CA.
Immediately following the dates with Katatonia, TesseracT has announced a headline tour with support being provided by Scale the Summit and Anciients. These shows kick off October 9th in Vancouver and are currently set to wrap on October 27th in Greensboro, NC. More dates may be added in the coming weeks.
The band commented on returning to this side of the pond:
"North America! We're coming back. And for not 1, but 2 tours back to back. We've all been missing Cracker Barrel, and Timmy Ho's, so it's with great pleasure that we can announce that we will be touring your fair lands again. Ever since the first tour we did with DTP way back when Ashe was called Dan, you guys have always been so cool to us. A lot has changed since then, and we can't wait to show you what we've been showing the Europeans for the past year. Firstly we'll be on tour with Katatonia, Cult of Luna, and Intronaut, as part of the Uncrowned and Vertikal tour. This will be an intense evening of dark powerful prog. It's so cool to be apart of this bill as all 4 bands create a completely different yet compatible atmosphere.
"Then we'll start the Altered State tour, where we'll have support from Scale The Summit and Anciients. Two bands that stretch progressive music to its limits. All of this is great, but you know the best bit...French Toast. Everyday for 5 weeks. Maple Syrup. Bacon. TubberacT."
TesseracT's latest release "Altered State" (reviewed here) came out earlier this year on Century Media Records. For a taste of the album, check out the naughty tentacle action in the music video for "Singularity" at this location. More...
Fresh off a successful tour with Intronaut, instrumental progressive quartet Scale the Summit will return to the road this fall during a North American tour with Tesseract.
The three-week trek — which immediately follows Tesseract’s tour with Katatonia and Cult of Luna — kicks off in Canada on October 9th and also features opening act Anciients.
In addition, Scale the Summit was recently invited to take part in next year’s Cruise To The Edge with legendary English group Yes, with whom Scale The Summit will also take the stage this weekend at the inaugural progressive rock fest Yestival at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ.

Katatonia has announced a co-headlining North American tour, the "Uncrowned & Vertikal Tour," with Cult of Luna plus special guests Intronaut and TesseracT.
The two-week run will commence September 23rd in Boston, Mass. VIP packages will be available next week, along with the public on-sales beginning Friday, August 9th.
Commented vocalist Jonas Renkse: "Dear North Americans! We are happy to announce yet another co-headline tour in support of Dead End Kings, this time with fellow Swedes Cult of Luna plus support from Intronaut (US) and TesseracT (UK)!
"Since we have been touring your continent quite a bit the last few years, we thought it was about time to re-decorate the good ol' setlist a little. Right now we are rehearsing and going through some of our hidden gems, songs that we haven't yet picked up or rarely have played live before. It will probably be as exciting for you as it is for us!
"Please note that it won't be an 'old-school' party, but an evening with atmosphere so thick you could cut it with a knife! Oh, and we will probably have time to play some of the 'hits' as well. All in all, we will squeeze out as much Katatonia as possible each and every night, so let's do this one together once again, shall we?"
The upcoming North American tour will coincide with the release of "Dethroned and Uncrowned," the band's debut album on Kscope (sister label of Peaceville), home to Anathema, Amplifier, Steven Wilson and most recently, Wisdom of Crowds, the new project from Bruce Soord of The Pineapple Thief and Katatonia's very own Jonas Renkse.
Tuska Open Air Metal Festival promised to be an event to remember this year, with huge acts such as King Diamond, Wintersun and Nightwish taking command of the main stage! With finally perfect summer weather and a lineup that challenged many other summer festivals, Friday came with much awaited anticipation!
Many of the bands this year were scheduled at the same time, perhaps the cause of this was that in the past there have always been four stages, but this year there were only three. Only two of these stages allowed media to shoot footage and photos, which led to a massive and unfortunate stress factor to an otherwise phenomenal festival experience. In addition, overcrowded photo pits with unqualified photographers led to an unfortunate decline in coverage from other medias this year. Die hard Tuska fans and Medias still showed up in hordes, and showed why Tuska is still the metal festival to be at in Helsinki! More...
