Below is our complete Sevendust news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.

Sevendust and their wholly owned record label, 7Bros. Records, today announced a partnership with Asylum Records, part of Warner Music Group's (WMG) Independent Label Group. Asylum Records is distributed by WEA Corp., WMG's U.S. sales and marketing company.
The first project together will be Sevendust's sixth full-length album, Alpha, due in stores, March 6, 2007. To coincide with the release the lead track "Deathstar," has been made available via stream on the band's website.
Sevendust will also embark on a 57-date headlining run beginning February 8, 2007 though April 28, 2007. Holiday tour dates previously announced are as follows:
Wed 12/27 Norfolk, VA @ The Norva
Thu 12/28 Myrtle Beach, NC @ The House Of Blues
Fri 12/29 Orlando, FL @ The House Of Blues
Sat 12/30 Ft. Lauderdale @ Revolution Live

Sevendust is expected to announce they have signed with with EastWest Records for the release of their sixth studio album in the coming weeks. EastWest Records is an imprint of Warner Music Group and was once the home to Pantera and AC/DC.
Three out of five members of the legendary Santa Barbara metal/punk rock hybrid SNOT — guitarists Mikey Doling (ex-SOULFLY), Sonny Mayo (SEVENDUST) and bassist John Fahnestock (KCUF, AMEN) — reunited for the first time since the passing of SNOT frontman Lynn Strait. Mayo and Fahnestock joined Doling and his new band INVITRO for a cover of SNOT's "Stoopid" during their November 1, 2006 performance at Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California.
SNOT frontman Lynn Strait died in a car accident in 1998, putting an end to a career that generated considerable promise but only one studio album, the 1997 Geffen Records release "Get Some". Also killed was the band's mascot Dobbs, Strait's dog who adorned the cover of SNOT's debut album. The band had been recording their sophomore album and had completed 10 songs at the time of Strait's tragic passing.
INVITRO recently finished recording its debut album, which will be released in early 2007 through GridIron Records, a new label founded by Doling, Kyle Turley (offensive tackle for Kansas City Chiefs), Max Harris and former SNOT manager Nic Adler. Audio clips of the band's debut album can be heard at their MySpace page.
Sevendust has lined up five shows, beginning Dec. 27 in Norfolk, VA, and ending New Year's Eve in Tampa, FL. Two other Florida stops and a lone South Carolina show round out the itinerary, which is included below.
On Thursday, September 28, Sevendust finished recording its yet-untitled sixth album, according to a message posted at its website, which went on to say that the songs will be shipped to Sterling Sound in New York for mastering with a new record-label partner to be named shortly.
The forthcoming disc, for which no release date has been announced, will follow last October's "Next," Sevendust's first--and apparently only--release for indie label WineDark, with whom the group signed after parting with TVT Records. Earlier this year, the group announced that it had already split with WineDark, but would maintain control of its wholly owned record label 7 Bros. Records, an imprint the group founded as part of its deal with WineDark.
The announcement came not long after drummer Morgan Rose told LiveDaily that he was displeased with WineDark's marketing efforts behind "Next."
"I'm right on the edge of unloading on everybody that we're dealing with now ...," Rose said during an interview. "There's a lot of stuff going on that we're having a lot of trouble with, that I won't get into and I won't make a big deal out of. But I can tell you: in the very near future, if stuff doesn't get fixed, there's going to be a lot to talk about.
"Next" features the cuts "Ugly" and "Pieces," both of which are streaming at Sevendust's official website. The disc peaked at No. 20 on The Billboard 200; it's 2003 predecessor, "Seasons," reached No. 14.
Sevendust tour dates:
27 - Norfolk, VA - The Norva
28 - Myrtle Beach, SC - House of Blues
29 - Orlando, FL - House of Blues
30 - Ft. Lauderdale, FL - Revolution
31 - Tampa, FL - Jannus Landing
MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover has dismissed the rumored Gigantour 2 lineup which was published in Bass Player magazine as "so not true, it's actually funny."
As previously reported, new issue of the Bass Player magazine (see scan at this location) has named the following bands as taking part in the second installment of the Gigantour, the festival tour organized by MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine as a tour featuring "only bands whose musicianship matches their ability to melt faces with sheer volume and power":
The official Gigantour 2 lineup is expected to be announced later this month.
During their Rockline Radio appearance Monday night, Sevendust announced they will begin work on the follow-up to last year's 'Next' on July 5th. The band recently parted ways with Winedark Records and will begin shopping for a new label shortly. The second single from 'Next' entitled "Pieces" was released earlier this week and can be streamed on their MySpace page.

"Due to a lack of tour support once guaranteed by our previous label, we have regrettably been forced to cancel our European tour plans for the month of June. We would like to express our apologies and share in the disappointment with our fans but vow to return to Europe in the very near future."
SEVENDUST were recently forced to forgo their initial U.S. tour dates in early May due to a broken bone in the left hand of guitarist John Connolly.

Now that SEVENDUST’s three-month-plus headlining tour has come to a close, the band is taking a much deserved break, but they won’t be resting for very long. Starting May 4 in La Crosse, WI at the La Crosse Center the band--Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), John Connolly (guitar), Vince Hornsby (bass), Morgan Rose (drums), Sonny Mayo (guitar)—will head out for another batch of tour dates lasting through the month of May with SOiL and Hourcast.
Meanwhile, the second single from the band’s critically acclaimed fifth album, NEXT, has been burning up the Rock charts since its release. It was a Top Five Most Added track at Rock radio its first week out and it’s currently bulleted at #31 on Billboard’s “Mainstream Rock Tracks” chart and #27 on the “Active Rock Tracks” chart. It’s also bulleted at #30 on Radio & Records’ “Active Rock” chart.
While you might think that the song’s a downer, it's far from it. It actually conveys an enlightening message and encourages fans to look at the brighter side of life. “The message in it is really positive,” explains guitarist Sonny Mayo. “It’s about living life thinking you’re gonna be a failure, and basing your whole existence on what other people or what another person told you about yourself, and finally coming out and realizing that it’s all about inner strength and it doesn’t matter what other people think about you. You could shed all the shame and all the guilt that you ever felt about things you did or things you didn’t do, and you could truly find the positivity even if you always thought you were going to be a failure.”

I started this evening with mixed emotions about the first group Wicked Wisdom, which Jada Pinkett Smith is the singer. Could actress/model actually produce worthwhile metal? The answer to that question is YES! Jada hit the stage with a fury that I did not think was possible from this pint-sized rocker. This band has seemed to have a hard time being accepted in the metal community but I highly disagree, I think they kicked ass! I really think it's great to see Jada following her dreams and producing the music that's near and dear to her heart. Despite all the negative feedback from the Metal World. More...
