Jam Track Central Launches Site With Metal Tracks
Jam Track Central is pleased to announce the launch of its brand new website. JTC invites metal guitarists everywhere to come and explore a host of new features with improved layout and navigation.
There are over 400 metal tracks to choose from featuring artists such as Andy James and Jeff Loomis, plus hundreds more tracks in other genres. You can check out the site and see membership pricing over here. The following press release was also issued:
"Selecting a track from the vast archive, members immediately see clear and accurate TAB and notation scrolling in perfect synchronisation with the audio and video recordings. A marker moves through the music display, and the note currently being played is highlighted with a different colour. Sections can be isolated and looped for intensive study, and the user can choose to view tablature, standard notation or both.
"Also, both the audio and video stream can be sped up or slowed down in real time while maintaining pitch. Guitarists can then practice effectively, gradually raising the speed as they gain fluency. You can seamlessly switch between full performances and backing tracks, and control what you see with the zoom functions. For the most precise analysis, Synthetic Mode allows you to hear a precise MIDI output of just the lead guitar."
Jonny Carpenter, Jam Track Central Manager, said "The new website layout, complete with new features and a new payment gateway, has been designed to make our customers experience even more enjoyable. It is now easier than ever to learn fantastic guitar techniques and solos from the impressive JTC artist roster, and to improve your playing ability what ever genre you are into."
Jeff Loomis Has Equipment Stolen In St. Louis
Jeff Loomis, who has been out on tour with Soilwork, has posted the following message online about having equipment stolen from the band's van:
"Last night after our show in St. Louis, our tour van was broken into as we were grabbing a bite to eat before our drive to Dallas. We were parked in a well-lit area in front of the restaurant. In the ten to fifteen minutes that it took for us to order our food and eat, all of our personal items such as laptops, cameras, musical equipment, cell phones, passports and money were stolen.
"We came outside to find the lock on the driver side door popped out of the van, and promptly called the police. A report has been filed and the van was fingerprinted, but the leads don’t seem promising. The police stated that this is apparently a common occurrence in the area. We are all in disbelief, but are very fortunate for everyone to be okay.
"After discussing the situation as a group, we would like to try to continue on with this tour, but to be able to do this, we will need your help. We have all taken a huge hit financially, and we cannot continue on without some sort of support. We have set up a paypal account for any amount of donations to assist us for the duration of the tour.
"Here is the PayPal e-mail to make donations to: JLoomisbanddonation@outlook.com Any and all support will be greatly appreciated. More...

Jeff Loomis Posts New Song Online
Jeff Loomis is proud to reveal his brand new song "A Liar's Chain." The song was recorded with his touring lineup consisting of young talents Joe Nurre (guitar and vocals), Anup Sastry (drums), and Greg Macklin (bass). You can check out the song via Metal Hammer Germany or in the player below.
Jeff comments: "A Liar's Chain is the first of three songs that I recorded with my band to officially debut online. We started playing it live on our last US run and it seemed to go over really well with fans. I had so much fun recording 'Surrender' with Ihsahn on vocals for my last solo album that I wanted to do more songs like that. Joe Nurre, who has been playing guitar in my band for the last year or so, has a pretty killer death metal voice, so I thought it would be perfect to do some more stuff like this with him as well as the rest of the guys.
"I'm really looking forward to getting over to Europe again. I have so much fun there. The Euroblast tour and festival has some amazing musicians on it, which is going to be really special for me as well, as I love watching and hearing great bands play. We're going to be playing 'A Liar's Chain' as well as one other new song with Joe singing. I look forward to seeing everyone there."
Jeff Loomis' second solo album "Plains Of Oblivion" was released in April 2012 via Century Media Records. The album was produced by Aaron Smith (7 Horns 7 Eyes) and features cover artwork by Colin Marks of Rain Song Design. Right now Jeff Loomis is on his Australian Clinic Tour to present his new Schecter JLV7 signature guitar model (see dates below). The Euroblast tour with label mates Monuments (UK), Vildhjarta (Sweden), and Stealing Axion (US) starts October 17th. More...

Jeff Loomis Recording New Songs
Guitarist Jeff Loomis will be entering the recording studio this week to record three new songs. According to touring guitarist and vocalist Joe Nurre, “Jeff and I have collaborated musically on 2 of the songs, and I have lyrics and vocals written for the 3rd.”
Touring drummer Anup Sastry will be playing the drums, and producer Aaron Smith will be recording and mixing. Apparently, Loomis will be going back to his roots. The former Nevermore guitarist played in a few death metal bands when he previously resided in Wisconsin as a teenager. “The vocals will be more aggressive and death metal-type.” Nurre explained.
There are plans to release the recordings digitally sometime in July, with samples of songs to be available beforehand.
Nurre added, “We will be playing some of these songs on our upcoming tour with The Contortionist. Jeff starts tracking on Tuesday.”
Details on the upcoming tour dates with The Contortionist, Chimp Spanner, and 7 Horns 7 Eyes can be found at this location.
