Holy crap, more than one Unearthing column is arriving in a single year? It's not an early Christmas present, we're just back on the indie train bringing you the best of the best from the metal underground. Shifting gears heavily from the last look at progressive bands in October, today we're going to cover some of the most extreme groups around in the death and black metal realms.
After releasing a demo and an EP back in the group's early years, the extremely bludgeoning U.K. group Dyscarnate first came to our attention in 2009 by signing to Siege Of Amida Records. That partnership would see the release of the bulk of Dyscarnate's existing catalog: “Enduring The Massacre” in 2010 followed by “And So It Came To Pass” in 2012.
Sadly, the band was dormant on the release front for several years afterword, eventually parting ways with vocalist Henry Yates and recruiting new member Al Llewellyn in late 2015. The fruits of that collaboration are finally on the horizon as Dyscarnate is now appropriately signed on Unique Leader – a label specifically known for devastating technical death metal.
A third full-length album is coming in 2017 and we can't wait to hear it, but for now you can check out previous album “And So It Came To Pass" here:
2016 ushers in a new dawn for U.K. metal trio Dyscarnate. After a period of silence spent writing and dealing with personnel shifts due to the loss of longtime member Henry Bates, the group is set to return with a third album, new vocalist/bassist in Arceye's Al Llewellyn, and a union with Florida's renowned Unique Leader Records.
"We're stoked to be working on the new record with Unique Leader," says drummer Matt Unsworth. "Our style has continued to evolve from album to album and we feel Unique Leader is the perfect home for our new material. We can't wait for everyone to hear what we've put together for album three. It's got all the grooves and blasts our fans would expect but the whole thing is drenched in a fucking dark atmosphere. There's genuine progression from the last record to this one. There is no doubt in my mind that it will surprise more than a few people."
Dyscarnate's as-yet-untitled third full-length album will be released in 2017 with official details to be unveiled in the coming weeks. Three men, one purpose, one sound: always outnumbered, never outgunned. More...
2016 ushers in a new dawn for the U.K. metal trio Dyscarnate. After a period of silence spent writing and dealing with lineup changes due to the loss of longtime member Henry Bates, the group set to return with a third album, a fresh sound, and a new vocalist/bassist in Arceye's Al Llewellyn.
"We're really excited to welcome Al into the ranks," says drummer Matt Unsworth. "He's the perfect fit. We couldn't have asked for anyone better to fill Henry's considerable shoes! We've had a couple of rehearsals with him already and he's sounding awesome, he can more than handle the vocal style, and is bringing something fresh to the table. He'll really complement the stuff on the new album as it's some of the most diverse material we've ever written. It's got all the grooves and blasts our fans would expect, but the whole thing is drenched in a fucking dark atmosphere." More...
U.K. outfit Dyscarnate has issued the following announcement about parting ways with bassist / vocalist Henry Bates:
"It is with great sadness that we announce the departure of Henry Bates - vocalist, bassist and founding member of Dyscarnate.
"Henry has decided to leave to focus on his personal life and other ventures. Henry's contribution to the band over the years has been massive. From being a core part of the writing process of both albums, to tearing up stages across Australia, Russia, Indonesia, Israel, Europe and more. We are genuinely gutted to lose him from our ranks, but will continue to count him among our closest friends.
"However, this sad news will not stop the Dyscarnate steamroller. We're very happy to finally announce we will be entering the studio tomorrow to record a taster of our upcoming third album.
"This recording will feature a very special guest on vocals, who we are ridiculously excited to work with; being very big fans of his work. Expect updates over the coming days and weeks as we take it to the next fucking level."
Dyscarnate will re-release the album "And So It Came To Pass" on February 10th via Siege Of Amida Records & Century Media Records.
