"This album feels like total synergy between the three of us,” says guitar player Tosin Abasi. “None of this music would have turned out the same way without the equal inclusion of all of our musical ideas and that feel special. We're beyond thrilled with the result."

Animals As Leaders produced the 10-track album, with guitar player Javier Reyes handling mixing duties. Reyes also commented on the symbiotic nature of the new album, adding, “'The Madness of Many' is an explorative and ambitious journey of harmony, rhythm, musical expression and emotion. It has been the most collaborative effort for the band and an evolution in each of the members’ musical path.”

BTBAM Announces New Album, Tour

Between the Buried and Me is excited to announce the "Coma Ecliptic" tour, named after the band's forthcoming new album, and set to take place July through August in North America.

The tour features support from Animals As Leaders along with openers The Contortionist. The tour will be the group's first official set of dates following the release of "Coma Ecliptic" on July 7th. A first single from the album will also be landing in early April.

"Coma Ecliptic" will launch via Metal Blade Records worldwide. Once again, the band has returned with an ambitious concept album: this time, the story follows the wanderings of an unidentified man, stuck in a coma, as he journeys through his past lives. Each song is its own episode in a modern day, sort of The Twilight Zone-esque fashion. The unidentified man enters each world and is offered a choice: stay, or move on to the next in search of something better, something more "perfect." More...

Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, Episode 12

“If it wasn’t for the thousands upon thousands of dollars Triston Seever lined Arty’s pockets with every week, the rock god knew the Hollywood agent wouldn’t tolerate the star’s strange new habits – the most disturbing of which was slaughtering young girls by the dozens. Triston Seever was a fraud; Arty knew this. (He was a man who knew a thing or two about fraud.) The little charmer was no longer an innocent kid. Something dark had taken hold of his body.”

Tune into our Official Podcast for co-host Mike Smith’s (OverkillExposure) dramatic reading of “All The Rage,” an original supernatural horror short by author Lindsey Beth Goddard.

“All The Rage” appears in the brand new metal-themed horror fiction anthology “Axes Of Evil,” out this month via Diabolus In Musica Publishing, an imprint of Chupa Cabra House. "Axes Of Evil" was edited by veteran metal journalist Alex S. Johnson.

Next, co-host Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) shares his thoughts on “The Joy Of Motion,” the recently released third album from Washington, D.C.’s instrumental progressive metal prodigies Animals As Leaders.

SXSW 2014 Day Three: Dio Tribute, Metalsucks

Friday, March 14, 2014, my third day attending SXSW music festivities, started just after 3 pm. This event was my only excursion outside of live music. Members of Landshark Promotions and DJ Chuck Loesch of 101X "No Control Radio" premiered a CD of the Ronnie James Dio tribute album "This Is Your Life." The three-person panel presented each track from the forthcoming recording featuring an all-star lineup of modern and classic metal artists. It felt good singing along to these majestic reworkings done in the name of charity. 100% of the proceeds will go towards Wendy Dio's "Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund" .

Animals As Leaders Announces New Tour

Animals As Leaders will kick off the New Year with a massive headlining North American tour on February 24th with After The Burial, Navene Koperweis, and Chon.

The first batch of dates are listed below and more will be announced in the coming weeks. The debut Sumerian Records album from Animals As Leaders is targeted for March release and a new track will surface online in late January.

Javier Reyes states: "We are definitely very excited about our upcoming headliner as it's been over two years since we did our last headlining North American tour. I think we have chosen a line-up that consist of extremely talented acts. Our labelmates, After the Burial, are a band we have yet to ever share the same stage with, so we are definitely looking forward to that. Ex-AAL drummer Navene Koperweis is coming out and performing solo and Chon are a very cool band we think people will enjoy.

"However, we are mostly excited about finally playing new material. I think some of the new tracks are some of AAL's strongest and musical material yet, so I am looking forward to seeing the crowd reactions. I am really happy how the album is coming out. Everyone who took part with this album (Misha Mansoor, Adam Getgood, Diego Farias, and Navene Koperweis) is extremely talented and I think we've done a great job of capturing it onto what is now the third Animals As Leaders album. See you all soon." More...
