Minnesota's Ambassador Gun is streaming the band's new album "Golden Eagle" online through Hails and Horns. The album, which will be released on October 22nd, can be heard right here or in the player below.
"Golden Eagle," the band's Prosthetic debut, was recorded and mixed at vocalist/guitarist Tim Sieler's home studio, The Gun Range. The album was conceived as a title first and written lyrically afterwards.
Vocalist and guitarist Luke Olson states, "Some, but not all, songs on the record are about Native American culture at the turn of the 19th Century (theft, murder, harassment, duress, war)." More...

The full lineup for Maryland Deathfest XI, which takes place May 23-26, 2013 is as follows: More...
With Sonar closing, the location of 2013's Maryland DeathFest XI was up in the air. The organizers have finally announced that the fest will be held in the same location as last year, and will be expanded. Maryland DeathFest XI will take place in Baltimore, Maryland on Memorial Day weekend, May 23-26, 2013. Tickets go on sale on October 15th at 12 pm (EST). You can read the entire update below:
We're a day early with this announcement, but we can finally let you know where MDF XI will be taking place.
In a nutshell, we will be returning to the property formerly known as Sonar, and will be at least doubling the amount of outside space that we've been used to utilizing. We realize that it's a bit of a mind fuck to wait around for a few months just to hear that the fest is returning to the same place, but truth be told, the other places we looked at were either not able to give us a definite answer anytime soon, and/or had too many inconveniences that we did not want to put the fans through. During the venue search, it was brought to our attention that the new owners of the property were willing to collaborate with us, so we decided to go through with returning to a familiar place that is close to the hotels and conveniences of downtown Baltimore.
The additional space outside will allow us to comfortably accommodate the crowd, and will allow more room for the MDF vendor village, food vendors/food trucks, places to sit, and other new additions like misting tents to escape the possibility of it being hotter than it should be that weekend. There will be two outside stages plus the stage inside. Due to the new configuration outside, the placement of the outside stages will likely be different.
As for the building itself, there are some renovations currently taking place, but the rooms will be used exactly how they have been in the past, and it will be air conditioned throughout.
We would also like to announce the addition of a second inside stage at Baltimore Soundstage, which is a 1/2 mile walk away from the former Sonar (at 124 Market Place), and will be used from Friday-Sunday. This will be a smaller show without a barricade that will feature mostly hardcore and punk bands, and it will be scheduled in a way that should not conflict with anything going on at the former Sonar compound. All of the bands for this stage will be included in next week's announcement on October 9th.

According to vocalist and guitarist Luke Olson, "'Golden Eagle' was an album title and a concept before most of the tracks were even written. 1. Wounded Knee (watch the video here)
5. Sunshine Acid
6. Cover Tracks/Sever Ties
7. Crack Ikon
8. Chris Brown
10. Circle The Lord Of Flies
11. No Suffering
Minnesota-based outfit Ambassador Gun has signed with Prosthetic Records. “We are fucking psyched to be a part of the Prosthetic roster,” stated the band. “This is a reputable and integral label in heavy music with amazing bands, and we’re grateful for the opportunity.”
You can check out Ambassador Gun by streaming or downloading the track “Wounded Knee” off of the band's forthcoming Prosthetic debut -- a mix of grindcore with death metal-infused thrash, blended with some punk and crust elements -- in the player below or at the Prosthetic Records Soundcloud page.
Ambassador Gun, whose name stems from a certain style of sunglasses for pilots, was formed by high school buddies Tim Sieler and Luke Olson. After having both played in similar punk and metal bands throughout the mid-'90s, the pair relocated to Minnesota in 2000. "From there," Olson recalls, "we started to write a lot of psychedelic, experimental metal in the vein of Neurosis and Today Is The Day and somehow blended it with the stylings of Slayer and old-school Hatebreed."
This led to the 2007 release of a first EP, “The Streets Have Eyes” (This Dark Reign Recordings). It was not until 2009, however, that the band released a first full-length studio album, “When In Hell,” through Pangea Recordings/Relapse Records. “We had a new enthusiasm to write short, grind–punk-metal songs,” said Olson. After a few line-up changes, drummer Patrick Ruhland joined the band for the release of the 2010 EP “Fear and Coercion." Olson stated, “This guy is a blastbeat metronome. Writing, demoing and recording have been amazing!” More...
Ambassador Gun has posted a new self-filmed video for "Wounded Knee," the opening track from "Golden Eagle" album, which can be viewed below. The following press release was also issued about the band:
"Minneapolis blastmerchants Ambassador Gun checked in from amidst their ongoing tour this week, while doing some bodywork on their van outside of a Wal-Mart. It turns out that their allies in Blue Ox had to bail from the tour at the last minute as one of the members nearly disengaged his entire leg in a brutal chainsaw accident! But automotive setbacks and chainsaw'd tourmates aside, Ambassador Gun will forge on for the remaining seven dates of the trek, with a vicious showdown in Reno confirmed for tomorrow evening. 'Fuckin way of the road, one cluster fuck after another,' they stated. 'At least the shows have been good!'
"Their first full-length since their 2009-released When In Hell album, Golden Eagle shows Ambassador Gun as always bridging all gaps subdividing extreme punk/metal genres into a crushing, crusty punk-as-fuck grind-infused amalgamation of revulsion. Here the trio cranks out 11 new songs 30 minutes, the album prevailing as a new DIY standard for the band, fully produced, recorded, and released by the members themselves. Golden Eagle is out now on cassette and digital download via the band’s self-operated label Pangea Media now. Also jam the album's second track 'Christbastard' in your ears via the Ambassador Gun Bandcamp page." More...
Malicious grind-metallers Ambassador Gun are preparing to lash out at humanity with another dose of their rabid and caustic alloy this June, with a tour of the Midwestern U.S. planned to coincide with its release. The following press release was issued about the new "Golden Eagle" album:
"The outfit’s first full-length since the 2009-released 'When In Hell' album, the newly completed 'Golden Eagle' shows Ambassador Gun as always bridging all gaps seemingly subdividing extreme punk/metal genres into a crushing, crusty punk-as-fuck grind-infused amalgamation of revulsion. The trio cranks out 11 new songs 30 minutes on Golden Eagle, the album prevailing as a new DIY standard for the band, fully produced, recorded, and visually presented by the members themselves.
"As with previous recordings, Ambassador Gun will take aim at the masses directly with Golden Eagle, set to release the record via cassette and digital download via their self-operated label Pangea Media on June 19th."
