36 Crazyfists, signed to Roadrunner records in 2002, debuted with their album titled "Bitterness the Star'" and did 2004's critically acclaimed "A Snow Capped Romance". They have their own unique sound, standing out most in vocalist Broc Lindow's voice. They recorded their debut and dedicated one of the songs to their original bass player who lost his life in a car accident.
36 Crazyfists may have suffered a loss, but that hasn't stop them from making music. They combine hard driven gutiars comparable to Killswitch Engage and vocals that are something of their own. 36 Crazyfists are showing the world that Alaska's not only known for eskimos, but also kick ass metal. 36 Crazyfists are definately a band to watch over the years. Who knows where they'll take their unique sound, comparable to Killswitch Engage, next?

MTV.com is reporting that Alaska-bred metallers 36 CRAZYFISTS have been confirmed for this summer's Sounds of the Underground tour, set to take place in August. The band will be touring in support of their third album, "Rest Inside the Flame", which is currently being recorded at Big Blue Meenie Studios in Jersey City, New Jersey with producer Sal Villanueva (THURSDAY, TAKING BACK SUNDAY, VISION OF DISORDER). 10 songs will appear on the CD, including "Midnight Swim", "I'll Go Until My Heart Stops", "Between the Anchor and the Air", "Aurora" and the first single, "On Any Given Night". The album, which will be mixed later in the month by Andy Sneap (NEVERMORE, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY) at Backstage Productions in Derbyshire, England, will feature three guest spots: former ONLY LIVING WITNESS and MILTOWN singer Jonah Jenkins, ex-KILLSWITCH ENGAGE drummer Tom Gomes and current KILLSWITCH frontman Howard Jones, the latter who sings on "Elysium". A late April/early May release via Roadrunner Records is expected.
With regards to thew new album's musical direction, 36 CRAZYFISTS frontman Brock Lindow told MTV.com, "This record's definitely heavier than the last two and has an older-school feel to it — like an old-school rawness. We wrote the record thinking of the live show. We didn't want to have any laid-back moments on it. We're wanted to keep things moving and going, so it's a speedy record — it's a little heavier, a little faster."
36 CRAZYFISTS have posted the following updates from the studio while recording their new album:
Happy Halloween All! The leaves are turning, rain is here, Football is heating up midway through the season and Hockey is in full swing. Ah, what a great time of year. Today marks the official beginning of pre-production for us. Our producer Sal Villanueva flew in last night from New Jersey so we figured wed kick this thing off with a trip to the bar for a few drinks and a little shoptalk. I got to say, Sal is definitely the man for the job. We all hit it off great and Im positive that Sal is going to pull the best out of us and knows what kind of quality record were looking to do. We have been writing hard all summer and have filtered through and trashed 2 albums worth of material. Leaving only the best of the best, we have assembled our sickest set of songs by far, that are very 36, yet a large leap forward from the last album. And with Sal on board now, I have never been so stoked to record an album. This is going to destroy. We already have click tracks that Thomas has been playing to and we got these songs fairly tight, but that is what pre-production is for we have to make these songs an air tight, impenetrable wall of molten metal. This we will accomplish. Today will consist of playing through these songs all day long and letting Sal get a feel for them as we begin to dissect and reassemble these bad boys. More to come..."
