Rob Dukes Comments On Leaving Exodus

Exodus recently announced the departure of vocalist Rob Dukes and the return of former member Steve "Zetro" Souza. Dukes has now issued the following statement about parting ways with the band:

"I'm no longer the singer of Exodus. I'm grateful for the last 9 years. I've had the experience of touring the world playing music.

"I was just a regular guy, a fan, and I got the chance to front a legendary band while having no prior experience of being a singer. I had no idea what I was doing and made it up as I was going along.

"It was a great chapter of my life, I'm bummed it ended with them, but I have another band Generation Kill. So I will concentrate on that right now and continue to build hot rods and build a car to race in the Baja 1000. I will be riding my motorcycle all over this beautiful country every chance I get, that's the next chapter of my life." More...

Generation Kill Posts Lyric Video

As a sneak preview of upcoming record "We’re All Gonna Die," New York City thrashers Generation Kill have just released a lyric video for the track "Prophets Of War." Check it out below.

Stated vocalist Rob Dukes: “I wrote ‘Prophets Of War’ after watching the documentary ‘The world according to Dick Cheney.’ He is such a delusional man with absolutely no conscience. Pure fucking evil. I guess I've always known they don't really care about anyone but themselves but this cemented the realization into my soul that every soldier that dies or is wounded, weighs nothing on this man’s conscience. He takes no responsibility at all, and it's all about money. Money and power.“

1. Born To Serve
2. Prophets Of War

Generation Kill Signs With Nuclear Blast

Nuclear Blast has checked in with the following announcement about inking a deal with Generation Kill:

"Today it is with great pleasure for Nuclear Blast to announce the signing of New York City based thrashers Generation Kill! The band gathers vocalist Rob Dukes of Exodus and former Pro-Pain / M.O.D. member Rob Moschetti on bass guitar and backing vocals alongside Jason Trenzcer of Mutilation and Jason Velezon on lead guitars and James DeMaria of Merauder on drums.

"Generation Kill is not just another genre band, they are the final answer to all that tedious talk about a comeback of thrash metal. The band has just finished working on the follow up to its highly acclaimed debut 'The Red, White And Blood,' which is scheduled for release in November."

Commented vocalist Rob Dukes: "I want to thank everyone at Nuclear Blast for having Generation Kill become part of the greatest metal family. Generation Kill has finished our new Album. We used Zeuss (Hatebreed, Soulfly) to produce this record. He really helped us bring out things in all of us we didn't know we had, we all reached down and made a good record, we fought, we argued, and in the end each of us rose up to the challenge and wrote good fucking songs."

Added producer Zeuss: "This album is not an Exodus clone, this is an album of music where 5 guys got together an explored our own roots of music, the records we grew up listening to and wrote songs paying homage to what we love." More...

Heathen Announces Tour With Dust Bolt

Rock the Nation presents - Heathen, Generation Kill and Dust Bolt thrashing Europe! Grab your denim vests and leather jackets, put on those hi-tops and guzzle down a few cold beers: because a true thrash metal triumvirate is ready to lay waste to a bunch of European clubs!

The following press release was issued about the tour:

"Leading the mob will be San Francisco veterans Heathen, founded in 1984 – amongst others – by Exodus guitarist Lee Altus, they released two landmark albums with 'Breaking the Silence' (1987) and 'Victims of Deception' (1991) before things got a bit quiet in camp Heathen. They returned with the thrash manifesto 'The Evolution of Chaos' in 2010, and now the guys are busy working on new material.

"Generation Kill are being led by Exodus front beast Rob Dukes and offer a nasty mix of thrash metal and hardcore. Check out their brilliant debut 'Red, White and Blood' and bang those heads! The line-up is completed by Munich-based newcomers Dust Bolt who indulge in old school thrash metal goodness! They have recently released their great debut 'Violent Demolition.'" More...

Generation Kill Signs With Season Of Mist

Generation Kill has announced its signing with Season of Mist. The signing comes in time for the band to release its debut album, expected to hit store shelves later in the year. Generation Kill features in its ranks Exodus front man Rob Dukes. The band commented on the signing by saying:

"The writing team of Rob Dukes and Rob Moschetti are glad to be working with Season of Mist for the Generation Kill debut album. This release is the most diverse project that either of the two have been a part of.

"This is an honest, no holds barred album containing various styles of music. In a way, it is a bit of a selfish record. We wrote the kind of material that we like. You can't please everybody, so you might as well please yourself. Honestly, that's what true art is. FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION."
