Latest Armed For Apocalypse News

Below is our complete Armed For Apocalypse news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.

Havok Vocalist Breaks His Wrist

Havok vocalist/guitarist David Sanchez has broken his wrist and the band will be forced to miss several dates on the current tour with Crowbar, Revocation, Fit For An Autopsy and Armed for Apocalypse.

The band will rejoin the tour in California in early October with Revocation's Dan Gargiulo will be filling on guitar while Sanchez returns on vocals.

Here's more in Sanchez's own words:

While hiking in Boulder, Colorado, I took a pretty nasty fall and ended up shattering my left wrist. Since I'm currently unable to play guitar, our friend Dan Gargiulo from Revocation has offered his 6-string services and will be laying down the riffage for the rest of our stint in the USA. I will still be doing vocals on the remainder of the upcoming shows and I cannot wait to get back on the road!

I'd like to apologize to anyone that was looking forward to seeing HAVOK in these coming days. We will definitely make it up to you. In times like these, one must remember the ancient American proverb, "Shit happens." See you on the road!!

One last thing! Here is some good news for a change. Pete's mom is making a full recovery from her recent accident and that means Pete Webber will be back behind the kit rejoining the tour in California. We want to thank Marshall Wieczorek from Wretched for stepping in on drums and doing an awesome job on such short notice.

Armed For Apocalypse Hits The Road

Following a U.S. live assault earlier this Fall, California act Armed For Apocalypse is currently leveling stages throughout the U.K. supporting 36 Crazyfists. With the price of travel continually escalating, the band launched a Kickstarter program to help fund airfare and hit the funding goal before deadline, a true testament to the dedication of fans globally.

Comments lead guitarist Cayle Hunter: "This European tour is the biggest of our lives and we've put together the most intense live set we've ever toured on for it. We plan on being on the verge of dying at the end of every set not only because we are so honored to play in front of new faces with 36 Crazyfists, Hatebreed and Napalm Death, but because we feel everyone that contributed to our Kickstarter to get us here deserves nothing less. We will NEVER forget who got us here! We are going to end 2013 with our blood on the stage, head home, recover and get ready for what is shaping up to be an incredible 2014." More...

Armed For Apocalypse Announces Tour Dates

California metal technicians, Armed For Apocalypse, will bring their rage to the stage next month on a long overdue run of live takeovers.

Set to commence in Chico, California on September 10th, the "Oceans To Summits Tour" will pillage its way through seventeen cities, with additional shows to be announced in the coming weeks. The band will be joined by Iconocaust on select dates.

Elaborates drummer Nick Harris of the upcoming run: "We are straight up pumped to get back on the road! This new record is long overdue and touring on is even more overdue. We have so much to prove as a band! There's not just a chip on our shoulders; there's a giant cavity of pissed off emotions ready to snap at any moment. We are going to go out every single night and put it all on the line! If there is only the staff and the bands watching us, or if the show is sold out, we don't care! Every show is being played like it is our last chance of making our rock 'n' roll dreams come true. This tour is the first of many tours and the first of many large middle fingers to all of you that doubt Armed For Apocalypse! We are on a mission and the mission starts in Chico September 10th! See you on the road!" More...

Armed For Apocalypse Posts New Music Video

In celebration of the impending new studio endeavor from West Coast metal marauders Armed For Apocalypse, today Metal Injection hurls forth the premiere of "Better Worlds (The Void)," the band's first official video ever. Check it out below.

The scathingly vitriolic, down-tuned number comes by way of "The Road Will End," set for release in North America via Ironclad Recordings on July 23, 2013. Elaborated guitarist Cayle Hunter:

"The video was shot by Renderblitz on Father’s Day at our practice spot in Chico, California so this isn't a typical ‘band in a warehouse’ video; it's a ‘band in their practice spot’ video, but our practice spot just happens to be a warehouse. Haha. This is our first ever music video so we're fucking pumped. ‘Better Worlds (The Void)’ is an exercise in simplicity and a shameless exploitation of our low, low tuning. Lyrically, it's all gloom, despair and self destruction. Definitely the most negative song on the record. So naturally we decided to make our first ever video for it." More...

Armed For Apocalypse Announces New Album

West Coast metal deviants Armed For Apocalypse are pleased to announce the release of their sophomore full-length later this Summer. Titled "The Road Will End," the follow-up to 2009’s "Defeat" debut was recorded with Chris Keene at Cutters Cathedral in Chico, California. All drums were tracked with Matt Pedri at Old Sailor Studios (also in Chico).

Elaborates lead guitarist Cayle Hunter: “The Road Will End is the best group of songs any of us has ever been associated with. We put this album through an extremely strong filter and put every single riff under the microscope. We kept challenging each other to not just write a riff, but to write thee riff. If it didn't force us make that ‘oooh’ face and bang our heads in the practice spot, it got cut. We wanted to make an album that was stacked with heaters from beginning to end - no filler tracks - and we feel we've accomplished that. We hope it gets the stamp of approval from our fellow metal heads around the world!”

Adds vocalist/guitarist Kirk Williams: "We are incredibly pumped on this record. It's been a long time in the making and has turned out to be exactly what we wanted: A one hundred percent accurate and sincere representation of us as musicians and people. In many ways I feel like it's the first real Armed For Apocalypse record. It practically wrote itself, like we collectively vomited this heavy, disgusting thing that was growing in our guts for years."

"The Road Will End" will be released via Ironclad Recordings on July 23rd, 2013. The track listing is as follows:

1. The Starting Line Is A Trip Wire
2. Better Worlds
3. The Well
4. Open Wound
5. Built To Kill
6. The Road Will End
7. Worth The Weight
8. Drawing A Line
9. Happy Hour (Disciple of Death)
10. Ends Meet More...

Sepultura Posts End Of Tour Report

Brazilian thrash metal legends Sepultura recently completed a tour of Europe which saw them appear in many venues, as well as several festivals. A message from the band reads as follows:

"First leg of European tour is over! 22 shows in a row! That was a first. We have never done so many shows with no days to rest in between.

"Of course we had some minor problems on the way. Jean got his thumbs busted and had to start playing with gloves on to protect the wound. In Prague, so cold! Derrick almost got a cold and lost his voice. And the problem with so many shows in a row is that you just don't have time to recover!

"Mr. Nick Harris (drummer, Armed For Apocalypse) had to wear a sign not to be mistaken with Derrick. More...
