The new game will be called Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock and will be much more story based than the previous games. Players will begin their careers at the legendary CBGBs venue and continue to the molten lava fields of rock treachery as eight Guitar Hero characters transform into rock warriors that must join together to use their unique, game-changing powers to help the Demi-God of Rock take down "The Beast" and save rock n’ roll.

Gene Simmons (Kiss) continues to push a “stage challenge” to both U2 and The Rolling Stones. I find it interesting this offer has yet to be extended to AC/DC. More members of the hard rock and heavy metal community have posted their messages online to pay tribute to the legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio, who sadly passed away yesterday morning as a result of stomach cancer. You can read some more of these messages below.
Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx: "I still have this image of him standing on stage in front of 100,000 belting out 'Man On The Silver Mountain' and remember the shivers it sent up my spine. He's one of the kindest souls I have ever met and his talent was beyond inspirational to so many of us. Those of us that had the opportunity to know Ronnie can tell you what a wonderful and passionate man he was."
KISS: "We mourn the tragic passing of the great Ronnie James Dio. In addition to his powerhouse vocal ability, Ronnie was a true gentleman who always emanated great warmth and friendship to us and everyone around him. We will miss him." More...
Slash (Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver) was recently in Sydney, Australia to launch the new MTV Classic television network. Slash and his wife met up with the young pop princess Justin Bieber who was hoping to have dinner with the guitar legend. Instead of a dinner invite Bieber got more than he bargained when Slash invited him out to a strip club. No news on whether Justin accepted the invite, but the rule is that any time an inappropriate strip club invite is made, it must inspire a column so here we go… More...

In Guns N Roses “Welcome to the Jungle” Axl is getting off a bus with a very large suitcase. In Whitesnake’s “Is This Love” video Tawny Kitaen packs four pieces of lingerie into a large suitcase. Anyone interested to know the contents (or what for fictional purposes is supposed to be contained in their luggage)? I’m going to go with Hit Parader and Circus magazines for Axl and a pair of Bret Michaels (Poison) jeans for Kitaen. This mystery is right there with what is inside the briefcase from Pulp Fiction...While on the subject of “Jungle”, is Duff ever going to bring back the Bill Walton seventies style headband? American hard rockers Taking Dawn has been confirmed as the main support band for the forthcoming KISS tour of the United Kingdom and Republic Of Ireland. Speaking on the tour, Taking Dawn frontman Chris Babbitt stated: "I still think my guys are fucking with me. Isn’t Ashton Kutcher supposed to punk only famous people? Not even in 100,000 years did I think we’d really be opening for KISS... especially after the third farewell tour! We’ve got our Love Gun locked and loaded, and can’t wait to strut the same stage as our heroes. This is such an honour it’s almost too overwhelming for words."
This past week Kiss announced a Kiss themed coffeehouse to be built in Melbourne, Australia. Given the graduation from action figures, iPod applications, and coffins this seems like a good time to propose other ventures for some of our other eighties rockers. More...

Forget Atkins, Low-Fat, or the South Beach diet: Try the new Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) Red Wine Only diet. Week six of Celebrity Fit Club displayed Bach easily beating ex-R&B star Bobby Brown in a long-distance running challenge up a hill. I guess I should point out Brown’s chronic chain smoking and potato chip addiction, but those are just details. Try the Red Wine Only diet today!... More...
In a recent interview with Metal-Rules.com, KISS frontman Paul Stanley spoke about the bands latest studio album, "Sonic Boom" and the question of whether or not KISS plan to continue writing more music in the future. An excerpt from the interview reads as follows:
Q: Overall, how satisfied you are for the sales numbers and overall feedback what you’ve got of Sonic Boom? Was there anything surprising there either in positive or negative way?
Stanley: "I’m thrilled because it’s a great album. I said from the beginning whether it sells 10 million copies or 1 million copies, it’s all the same to me. At this stage of the game it about making a great album, anything else is just a bonus. In America we had the album available exclusively at one place which has a good side and a bad side. The good side is they support is, the bad side is, it’s the only place you can get it. So there are plusses and minuses but I couldn’t want a better album, I couldn’t imagine a better album." More...

In week four of Celebrity Fit Club we finally get to see Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) in true form, that is to say, the anger finally appears. The best comparison I see is looking at Skid Row’s self titled debut album versus the follow-up, Slave to The Grind, going from “I Remember You” to “The Threat,” a sweet ballad to destruction. In this episode Bach goes from 0 to 100 in a matter of minutes, hitting cameras, getting in the face of female teammates, and dropping fifty F-bombs in less than five minutes. Nice to have you back Sebastian… More...
Kerang reports that Kiss was forced to cut their set short at an intimate gig at London's Islington Academy earlier this week. The band, who had not played a venue in the UK that small in nearly 24 years, was left breathless after confetti cannons went off during the initial set closer, "Rock And Roll All Nite." According to reports, the stage was flooded with excessive amounts of carbon dioxide and bassist / vocalist Gene Simmons nearly collapsed. Vocalist / guitarist Paul Stanley also found it difficult to breathe and said he didn’t know if he could make it back on stage for an encore.
After a short delay, the band returned to perform their 1976 hit, "Detroit Rock City," but unbeknown to fans in attendance at the 800 capacity venue, Kiss were forced to axe classic tracks such as "Deuce," "Shout It Out Loud" and "Lick It Up" from their set. The setlist from last night’s gig was as follows:
Modern Day Delilah
Let Me Go Rock And Roll
Calling Dr. Love
Got To Choose
I Love It Loud
Rock And Roll All Nite
Detroit Rock City
Kiss performed a couple songs on Germany’s talk show “Wetten, Dass?” with Thomas Gottschalk. Check out the video below for their performances of the songs “Say Yeah” and “I Was Made For Lovin’ You.”
