Boston thrashers, Ravage, have issued the following update regarding the details of their upcoming North American tour:
"So the tour schedule seems to be coming together slowly but... maybe surely. We've got a lot of good potential shows put together including a possible gig with the legendary Vicious Rumors, and confirmed shows with ROSS THE BOSS (Guitarist of Manowar and The Dictators) and STRATOVARIUS. We seem to be having an easier time putting together shows on the west coast for some reason - so if you have some contacts in the East and south, particularly florida and the carolina's - and Canada - let me know. I've had a devil of a time getting any Canadian gigs so far." More...

Says Dave: "This is the demo version of one of the new songs off the upcoming WildeStarr CD, very raw, in your face, and loud. We just recorded this last week. We want everyone to hear us and get a feel for what we are up to in the studio. We are going to be in the studio all year working on this album, but folks want to hear something now... so here you go!"
WildeStarr is currently looking for a record deal and hope to have their debut album out later this year.
Co-producing along with the band is Juan Urteaga (TESTAMENT, Vicious Rumors, EXODUS). WildeStarr band lineup is: Dave Starr on all guitars and bass, London Wilde on Vocals and keyboards, and studio/session drummer R.R. Valdez.
The reunited "Remnants of War"-era lineup of HELSTAR shared the stage with TESTAMENT Tuesday, March 27, at the Scout Bar in Houston, Texas.
Commented HELSTAR bassist Jerry Abarca: "This show was GREAT!!! Sold out... You had to walk on top of people just to get anywhere. If you missed it, maybe next time. HELSTAR made an official announcement last night. HELSTAR will be recording a new album. This year!!! And will be shopping for a great label. We did play a new one for the crowd and it was a frenzy of madness. To be all honest it was it was a madhouse and of course I had to come to work today. I was well worth it. Thanks for everyone's time and we hope to see you in the near future..."
HELSTAR's current lineup includes Abarca, guitarists Larry Barragan and Rob Trevino, vocalist James Rivera (also in VICIOUS RUMORS, KILLING MACHINE), and drummer Russell DeLeon.

Original Vicious Rumors member and bassist Dave Starr has left the band as of January 23, 2007. Dave played bass on the first 5 Vicious Rumors albums (and was featured in several other VR DVD's, MTV videos, and band compilations). He returned to the band in 2005 to record the new WarBall CD in 2006. Dave commented:
"My history with VR goes back nearly 23 years, and in many ways the band will always be a part of me, however it's time for me to concentrate 100% of my time and energy on my own music, my own band, and playing guitar. My band WildeStarr (along with incredible vocalist London Wilde) is something I have been working on for a few years now, and I took time off from this to work with VR again and record the WarBall album."
"I am happy with the way the new VR CD came out, and thrilled with the response it has received so far from the fans and press. It was great to play and record with VR again. I remain on good terms with everyone in the band and wish them well in the future."
Look for the debut CD by WildeStarr in late 2007. Dave describes the band's sound as "Heavy, melodic, and intense."
Dave's departure comes just prior to the the band heading out on tour. They had lined up a number of live dates during the coming months, including a San Francisco show with TESTAMENT and RUFFIANS at The Independant on January 27 with more shows to be confirmed. There was no information on the impact on touring plans at this time, however.
