Philip H. Anselmo will take to the road for his first-ever solo tour, "Technicians of Distortion," which will kick off July 31st in Tulsa, OK.
On this tour, Anselmo will be joined by his back up band The Illegals - guitarist Marzi Montazeri, bassist Steve Taylor, and Jose Manual Gonzalez on drums. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, May 23rd.
The Technicians of Distortion tour is in support of Anselmo's upcoming solo release, "Walk Through Exits Only," due out July 16th (Housecore Records/Megaforce) and will take the group to a total of sixteen markets over a three-week period.
Warbeast, which is signed to Anselmo's Housecore Record label and just released new album "Destroy" (produced by Anselmo), along with industrial doom and drone metal one-man band Author and Punisher, will provide support on all dates.
"It is an incredible pleasure to do my first solo tour with my brothers in Warbeast and to introduce the mighty Author and Punisher to the Extreme Music audience properly," said Anselmo. "This is a killer program of insane variety, so come out and support the gigs!"
The confirmed dates are as follows: More...
Warbeast has been on the road in support of latest album "Destroy," but the band posted a message online yesterday about being stranded in Kansas due to a van breakdown. Warbeast has now checked in with the following update:
"So we are still in Overland Park, Kansas. We won't be able to make the Nashville show tonight either. Scott and Bobby went to where the Van was parked at mechanic shop.
"They think it's a clogged muffler, but they didn't have the parts to fix it. So they are getting it towed to a muffler shop right now. Once the van is fixed we will start the 14 hour drive to Greenville, South Carolina to finish the rest of the tour.
"We will be be forced to checkout of our hotel in about an hour and just have to wait outside somewhere with our bags until the van is fixed. Our spirits are still high and we are determined to finish this tour no matter what. There's just the 5 band members left to do everything from this point on. But we will make it some how. Sucks that Casey has to spend his Birthday like this... but he's not bitching about it.
"Thanks to everyone that has been trying to help us through this ordeal... it really means a lot to us!!!" More...
Warbeast has checked in with the following update about breaking down on the road during tour:
"Warbeast stranded in Kansas... Van broke down 3 times. Had to cancel Tulsa... we apologize! But we were broken down on highway 3 times. Got towed... 3 different mechanics thought they fixed it and it would just break down again.
"Now everything is closed until Monday and they can't work on it until then. Plus we couldn't find a another van to rent yet because of everything closed around us. We can only hope something happens for us to continue this tour."

Wilson will be embarking on a tour with Gwar and Warbeast this coming April, with dates available below. The following press release was also issued about Wilson:
"The growl of chain saws making firewood of fifty foot pines. That's Wilson. The howling of a pack of wolves battling a rabid moose. That's Wilson. The panting, gasping breaths of a smoke break 'nooner.' That's fucking Wilson. The citation for a noise violation... that's just where the party begins.
"If all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, then all party and no bullshit have made Wilson juggernauts. For the past few years Wilson has transformed shows into parties, and concerts into riots throughout the Midwest. Wilson has not only held their own, but raised the bar for how much fun live music can be.
"Now Wilson is ready to take their party to the road, heading out on the 'Fate or Chaos' North American tour with Mutant Overlords GWAR and Warbeast. The tour is set to kick off April 10th in Tucson, AZ and will run through April 25th in Jacksonville, FL. Tickets for all the dates are on sale now."
Chad Nicefield Vocalist/Weirdo Beardo commented on the upcoming "Fate or Chaos" tour: "We are extremely excited and honored to be supporting the legendary GWAR this April! Wilson cannot wait for all the fuckery to unveil itself on the road with these scumdogs!" More...
Warbeast is pleased to announce that Casey Orr (Rigor Mortis, GWAR) will join the band as a fill-in bassist while on the road this spring with GWAR.
The band’s upcoming tour dates with GWAR and Wilson kick off in Tucson, AZ on April 10th. The 16 day run, dubbed the “Fate or Chaos Tour,” will continue through the month of April until it closes in Jacksonville, FL on April 25th.
Warbeast vocalist Bruce Corbitt states, “Obviously we are all psyched to have Casey on board for this upcoming tour with GWAR and Wilson. I’ve always respected Casey’s professionalism, abilities and musicianship from our many years together in Rigor Mortis. This will be a natural and comfortable fit for Warbeast. Plus he’s still buds with all of the guys in GWAR, so this tour will be a blast… to say the least."
Casey Orr also adds, “I am very excited to accept the challenge of playing bass for the mighty Warbeast! I'm looking forward to crushing skulls with my brothers in the Beast, and I'm totally stoked to be bringing the thunder on the road this April, supporting my Scumdog family – GWAR. Texas Thrash will Destroy!”
“This by far will be the most solid lineup to date with Casey Orr joining us for this tour. I’ve known him all of my life and it just seems right,” comments Warbeast guitarist Scott Shelby. “Casey is hyped as well, as is the whole band to move on to this new era and continue to Destroy!”
“I’m looking forward to the rhythm section being tighter than ever,” states drummer Joey Gonzalez. “I know Casey will be killer to learn from and jam with." More...

Warbeast, which will be releasing a split album titled "War of the Gargantuas" with Phil Anselmo, has now checked in with the following recap of the band's recent European tour dates:
"Warbeast has made it home safely from our 1st European Tour! It was an amazing experience for each and every member of Warbeast. Thanks to all the fans and friends we made in all 10 of the countries that we played in during the tour.
"Also special thanks goes out to Kate Richardson and Philip Anselmo of Housecore Records. DOWN and all of their incredible crew! Both of our tour Managers... Martin Lamb and Milan Breukers!! Cheers to all of them from Texas!
"We will be coming back again to Europe one day... hopefully soon!!!"
Pantera, Superjoint Ritual, and Down vocalist Philip Anselmo and Housecore Records thrashers Warbeast recently announced that they will be releasing a new split album entitled "War of the Gargantuas." The split now has an official release date of January 8th, 2013 and will include two songs from each artist.
This album serves as the first release of any solo work by Philip Anselmo during the span of his nearly 30-year legacy. Also, the two Warbeast tracks on the split feature former bassist Alan Bovee before his departure from the band. Since then, Dre Karst has joined on bass.
“This split is a glimpse into the future of both my solo project and ultimate thrash metallers Warbeast. The title of the split is War of The Gargantuas and it is fitting on many levels because of our combined love for the 60's Japanese film of the same name, the power of our combined musical output(s) and our humorous affection that plays out within each of our 'Gargantuan' personalities,” states Philip Anselmo. “Both Warbeast and myself have full length LP's that will be released shortly after this is released, but this split is unique musically. It is a time capsule; a loud pause ‘til we both release our full length products. Enjoy the destruction of music!”
“These two songs we have on War of the Gargantuas were the next level after Krush The Enemy,” states Warbeast guitarist Scott Shelby. “They've been a staple in our set list for the last two years. These songs are a pure demonstration of our unique Texas thrash metal style.”
Warbeast also recently announced the upcoming release of a second full-length album, "Destroy." The album is scheduled to be released in early 2013 via Housecore Records and is currently in the mastering stages. Stay tuned for more information on "Destroy" coming very soon. More...
Warbeast just wrapped up a string of U.S. tour dates with Down, and is now on a break before heading over to Europe, also alongside Down, on the 19th. The band has now issued the following road report:
"Warbeast has been on the road home since about 1am. Looking like we will be home around 6:30. Once again we want to thank DOWN for this tremendous opportunity to tour with them. We appreciate it so much Philip H. Anselmo, Kirk Windstein, Pepper Keenan, Jimmy Bower and Patrick Bruders Also thanks to Kate Richardson, Scott Earnhart, Chad Piriano, Carter Withey, Mike Thompson, Eightball and Darrin Jones for being such a great crew and making us feel welcome.
"Also thanks to our brothers and label mates in haarp! Plus Big Okie Doom, Mount.Carmel, Pentagram, Saint Vitus and Child Bite for also sharing the stage with us on some of the shows during this tour.
"Easily the BEST and most successful tour for Warbeast so far. Got to play in front of some very large and receptive crowds. We sold tons of merch too. It was obvious we gained some new fans too.
"Some typical comments after our set at shows: 'I've never heard of you guys before tour, but you've got a new fan now.' 'Your album and YouTube videos don't do you justice, you are so much more intense live.' 'Thanks for bringing back true old school thrash metal.' 'You guys are the best band out of D/FW since Pantera.' 'The new songs ruled!' 'When you guys come back here I will be there.' Needless to say, hearing that shit is very cool for all of us. More...
Housecore Records thrashers Warbeast are set to head out on tour with Down next week. The band will join the U.S. tour on September 18th in its hometown of Fort Worth, TX and will travel with Down and label mates haarp, along with a few shows with special guests Pentagram and Saint Vitus and othersm until October 2nd in Charlotte, NC.
The band is also pleased to announce upcoming European tour dates with Down. The group will then continue the tour in November with several stops in Germany. Down vocalist Philip Anselmo had some words to add about bringing Warbeast on the road.
“I am extremely pleased we (Down) are bringing the band Warbeast with us to Europe. They are what I'd call 'pure' thrash metal, in a classic Dallas/Ft. Worth style,” states Anselmo. “These guys are tailor made for our brothers and sisters across the pond, and I expect them to fucking kick some almighty ass, and gain a shitload of new fans.”
“This has been a goal for each one of us from our earliest bands and from the inception Warbeast,” states Warbeast vocalist Bruce Corbitt. “Here in the USA, many of us are envious of the European metal scene. So going on a European Tour with our bro's in DOWN is even better than a dream-come-true for us. It honestly feels unreal and surreal that this is actually going to happen. Special thanks to our label Houscecore Records for believing in us in the first place!” More...

Warbeast, which recruited a new bassist last month, has issued the following statement about working on a new album:
"We've just finished recording the final tracks on this first part of the new Warbeast album. Some of us will go back in June for the solos and vocals.
"Great job Blue, Shelbeast, Bobby and Dre'. Props to our producer Philip and engineer Big Steve Berrigan. Special thanks to Kate Richardson for making sure we were will taken care of and that great meals she cooked for us.
"We are loading up trailer now to be ready head home early in the morning. So tonight its beer time... We earned it.

Texas act Warbeast has issued the following announcement about recruiting a new bass player:
"After weeks of intense auditions with some several talented musicians… Warbeast has finally made our decision on a new bassist. Warbeast would like everyone to welcome Dre' Karst to our Warbeast lineup.
"Dre' is originally from New Orleans and moved to the D/FW area 6 years ago after the Hurricane Katrina disaster. That makes it seem even more appropriate because of the tight bond that many New Orleans and D/FW musicians have had going all the way back to the 80s. Not to mention that is where Housecore Records label owner Philip Anselmo is from. Even though that didn’t have anything to do with the actual reasons we chose Dre' to join our band. We just think that is a cool connection to have. Dre' has been playing for over 20 years and thrash metal is in his blood. So he already fits in nicely with the rest of us. Dre' will be leaving with all of us next Saturday (May 5) to head to Louisiana to record the 2nd Warbeast album.
"Just like the debut Warbeast album, we will be recording it at Philip Anselmo’s studio Nodferatu’s Lair. Philip Anselmo will once again be the Producer for the album. We want to also take this time to thank the other bass players that came out to audition. It really was a tough decision that we took alot of time to make. But we all felt that Dre was the right man for the job. So everyone please welcome Dre' Karst to the Warbeast family."

One of Germany’s Big Three thrash bands, Destruction, once again brought its unique brand of thrash/speed metal back to San Antonio, Texas. With nearly 30 years under their bulleted belts, the Teutonic veterans hoped their longevity and legendary cult status would result in a massive gathering of denim-n-leather-gauntlet-fisted bangers.
This would not be the case, though. Even an impressive array of suitable acts that included the return of second-wave Cali Bay thrashers Heathen, the Texas thrash collective Warbeast, German black thrashers Nocturnal and more thrash in Witchhaven failed to bring in the masses on this Tuesday night. However, the dismal turn out did not stop the small-but-loyal crowd from acting like complete maniacs.
What might turn out to be the best thrash tour of the year encountered problems at its Central Texas stop a couple weeks before the event. Originally slated to appear at the Dirty Dog in Austin, the show moved to Backstage Live in San Antonio. Austinites complained about the drive, the lack of quality beer and parking fees. Many from the area with plans of attending the Austin show didn’t make the trek to SA. Those close to the promoter, Motorbreath Entertainment, stated that Austin would have resulted in an even poorer turnout. San Antonio is a bigger city and supposedly, the metal capital of the world, but it didn’t live up to its name on this night. More...
SXSW Music officially began on Wednesday, March 16th. My schedule was jam-packed and I quicky fell behind on reporting on the days’ events at the conference, which started with an interactive conference on March 11th.
Despite being out late for a show the night before, I decided to head over to the conference center to catch my first music talk: “Welcome to the Music Business - You’re Fucked.” I didn’t have great expectations from the description alone. Once seated, I was hearing great things about the speaker, who turned out to be Martin Atkins, author of “Tour:Smart” and former drummer for Ministry and Killing Joke among others. More...
