Miss May I Releases "Shadows Inside" Video

With the release of sixth full-length studio album, "Shadows Inside," less than a month away, metalcore group Miss May I now unleashes a music video for the record's title track.

Slated for a June 2nd release on the band's new label, Sharptone Records, "Shadows Inside" is the follow-up to Miss May I's "Deathless" and "Rise of the Lion," which debuted at #5 & #6 on the Billboard Rock Charts, respectively.

Speaking about the title track, Miss May I lead vocalist Levi Benton states, "Not only does this song open up our new record, it also sets the tone for the record. This album is all about changes throughout life, good and bad. It's about the past that lives within everyone; their 'Shadows Inside'. The lyrics talk about how great new things can give light to your past and put you in a better place."

Sharing some details about the creation of the music video, Levi adds: "We have quite a few videos and we're always trying to change things up. With this video for 'Shadows Inside' we not only wanted to recreate the cover of the record in real life, but we also wanted the performance to be abstract. We had black lights and used old lens effects from the 90's to achieve a very classic look and something totally different for us." More...

Miss May I Releases New Video

Miss May I today releases a first track and official music video for “Lost In The Grey,” which comes off impending album, "Shadows Inside," due out on June 2nd. You can also catch Miss May I headlining a North American tour starting in Canada on May 11th.

"Shadows Inside" was co-produced by Drew Fulk (Motionless In White, Emmure, Crown The Empire) and Nick Sampson (Asking Alexandria, Born Of Osiris). Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, The Word Alive, Neck Deep) handled all mixing duties.

Levi Benton (vocals) states: "Our new video for 'Lost In The Grey' was by far the most extreme video we have ever done! The shoot involved an entire forest landscape set, live action volatile weather elements and rodents in mouths. We have never had a video like this before. The vibe for the song is really captured well and sets a great image not only for the song, but the record as a whole. Shadows Inside is the most honest record we have ever created and a big part of that was just having the freedom and time to put everything we had into it.

“This is a great first track to release to the mass as it represents the effort it takes to get out of the complacent and stale life people live. The song is about finding that hope and drive to push you to a new and better life. The lion has always represented hope and ambition and now with this video it's physical and represented as a mask that one needs to show them there is a better life for everyone, if you push for it.” More...

Chicago Open Air Day Two

I knew going into Saturday that it'd be in the most incongruous day of the festival since Disturbed were supported on their own tour by a number of hard rock acts which made the overall festival feel a bit disjointed. The heaviest acts on the tour were playing on the second stage while the radio rock acts tackled the main stage. The best way to describe it would be ADHD comorbid with DID.

One of the best parts of Chicago Open Air is that it's actually a place where I could wear arctic camo shorts and not look get weird looks from people. Granted, there are probably some other places. For instance, if I was ever tempted to go hunting in the jungles of Alaska or the frozen tundra of Florida, I'd break them out again. But for the most part, I was never going to wear them anywhere else. More...
