My Silent Wake just released a promo video for "And So It Comes To An End," a key track on both 2015's "Damnatio Memoriae" album and the band's career retrospective collection "An Unbroken Threnody 2005 – 2015." You can pick up either or both releases at the My Silent Wake Bandcamp page here.
Having taken great strides last year with the release of their most powerful album to date –
"Damnatio Memoriae" – the members of My Silent Wake decided it was time to take a glance back over their collective shoulders and reflect on their ten years as a band.
What better way to celebrate that journey of music, friendships, critical acclaim and never-ending hard work than with a compilation of their finest work? A compilation that includes material from the fourth ever live gig, from vinyl only releases, from classic albums, fan favorites and band favorites, all freshly remastered – not to mention a new and exclusive song.
"An Unbroken Threnody 2005 – 2015" has all of this, along with sleeve notes from Ian Arkley – the band’s constant, creative force – and beautiful artwork from Matt Vickerstaff, known for his work with My Dying Bride, Autopsy, Mayhem and many more. It will be issued on February 8th via Stone Groove Records.
As a thank you to all those fans who support the band by purchasing a copy of "An Unbroken Threnody," My Silent Wake have added something special to the album package. Each CD purchased will come with a download code, giving access to nearly two hours of remastered, classic material, making "An Unbroken Threnody" a truly essential purchase. More...
Imperative PR just issued this announcement about My Silent Wake celebrating 10 years of existence and recruiting a new keyboardist:
"My Silent Wake have just celebrated ten years in existence and during the last decade they have released a dark host of enthralling albums and EPs, becoming one of the most respected figures in British doom.
"The band recently recruited keyboard player Simon Bibby, who played in Seventh Angel, the band from whose ashes My Silent Wake were first formed. This is the first time in their history that My Silent Wake have had a dedicated keyboard player in their ranks and Simon’s arrival opens even more doors for the band, particularly in terms of their live performance.
"Now, with Imperative PR by their side and their line-up complete, My Silent Wake can begin a whole new chapter in the band’s history...and we confidently predict that wonders await." More...
The Doommantia Volume 3 compilation has now been posted and is available for streaming and download over on bandcamp. This anthology picks up where its predecessors left off and features twenty bands from the world of doom, drone, stoner, retro and sludge.
This compilation was put together to raise money to benefit Ed Barnard of Doommantia.com. He suffered a heart attack and due to huge medical bills was forced to move back to his native Australia at the end of July. Basically homeless and rebuilding his life from scratch, he has no family to fall back on and cannot work due to severe health issues. A $7 donation gets you these tracks but you can donate more if you have the means to do so.

My Silent Wake has checked in with the following update about the band's live show lineup and announcement about writing new music:
"Hi to everyone! We have a couple of gigs coming up so far this year on the 23rd April in Nottingham and the 29th May in Weston-super-Mare. I will post details in the gig guide.
"Andi now has to spend a lot more time abroad with his new job, so playing in MSW is impossible for him right now. Steve is still very involved with his new job and Jasen decided to leave the band last year, but hopes to guest on future recordings. Lots of big changes in MSW right now, but we plan to continue as normally as we can. The live line-up will be Kate, me and Tank. We also hope to have Mike from The Drowning playing with us as much as possible. A friend of mine called Marc was to be filling in for Andi but unfortunately he found he did not have the time to commit to the band.
"New songs are being written by me and Kate and we hope to record some acoustic songs soon and a full album later in the year. A compilation of live and rare material is planned for release on Dark Meadow in the summer. Thanks for supporting us!"
