Banger Films To Release Extended Gaahl Interview
Continuing in their efforts to fund the production of the "Lost Episode" of the Metal Evolution series, Banger Films is offering fans for the first time ever an extended cut of director Sam Dunn's interview with Norwegian black metal vocalist Gaahl, past member of Gorgoroth and currently with God Seed.
Gaahl's interview has been cited as one of the most compelling and entertaining interviews Sam Dunn has ever conducted. The video will be delivered digitally when the crowd funding campaign wraps up in mid-December.
In 2004 Sam, Scot, and the Banger Films crew traveled to Bergen, Norway to interview Gaahl for their groundbreaking documentary "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey." According to Dunn, "as the crew started to set up cameras, lights, etc... Gaahl insisted that everyone move to the wine cellar where the room is lit only by candlelight." What resulted is one of the most memorable interviews in the history of metal documentaries.
Banger Films has issued a call to arms to the global metal community to help make the "Lost Episode" of the Metal Evolution series by means of a crowd funding campaign on IndieGoGo. For just $5.00 fans can pre-order the episode which will be delivered to them via secure e-mail link once the production is finished. There are other campaign perks available as well, such as the opportunity to have renowned artist Vince Locke design an exclusive custom tattoo and have Banger Films cover the ink costs. For more information and to find out how you can help make this episode happen visit this location.

Cradle Of Filth Comments On New Album
Cradle of Filth's Dani Filth has posted a new blog online discussing the band's upcoming new album "The Manticore and Other Horrors," which is due out on October 30th, 2012. You can read the full blog right here or catch this excerpt from Dani:
"Greetings fellow munchkins, At last I can verify that the witch is dead. The album is finished, and indeed finally titled; The Manticore and Other Horrors is officially signed, sealed and delivered to the Devil's doorstep with a note written in spidery ink apologising for the delay.
"Of which there was basically none come to think of it, as we worked like the damned to bring this album kicking and screaming into being over the last few months. With the fulfillment of the vocals at Springvale studios, we reconvened at Scott Atkin's Grindstone studios (newcomer Daniel Firth having just finished his bass off), to tackle a mix that had already been pre-waxed extensively into shape, and to finish what choir and female vocals were left to undertake, for what I call on this album, the evil faerie-dusting.
"Then it was three weeks deep (separated by a Hellgig weekend) locked away in the verdant Suffolk countryside gently coaxing our Frankenstein to life, assailed by some of the strangest weather an English July has ever seen, nibbling ever further and further into the mix as the heavens violated the earth. Goddamn that outside toilet!
"So here and now, with Bod as my witness, I can truly say that The Manticore and Other Horrors sounds fxxking awesome, a real noticeable twist in tone but all the better for it. It's ornate, taut, punk and aggressive but very much the neo-classical whore of yore, spitting raw bloody fury through the maw of the majestic. But I would say that, I've had a firm hand in it's oily whelping! More...

"I'm really looking forward to presenting the new music I've been working on for the last two years. We have put a lot of work into creating something very unique. We will give some previews from the God Seed album, but more importantly, we will give a detailed presentation on how we have made the songs. The movie stars famed Norwegian actress Ingrid Bolsø Berdal in the role of Dagmar, the leader of a group of outlaws living in the Norwegian mountains in the 1300s.
More information on "Flukt" will be revealed as soon as it becomes available.
God Seed Postpones "Live At Wacken" Release
Indie Recordings has issued the following announcement about postponing God Seed's "Live at Wacken" release:
"Indie Recordings has to postpone the release of God Seed's 'Live at Wacken' until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and we will hopefully soon come with updates concerning the planned release.
"The CD will include footage of the group's infamous live show from the 2008 edition of the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany where they headlined the main stage in front of 75,000 screaming fans. The show was a reconstruction of the controversial Black Mass show from Krakow in 2004. ?The concert featured sheep heads on stakes, 'crucified' nude models, satanic symbols, and gallons of liters of sheep's blood. The members of God Seed came under fire for violating Polish blasphemy laws as well as Polish animal-rights laws, resulting in a police investigation with allegations of religious offense and cruelty to animals. The band went free of all charges and at Wacken 2008 they recreated this now-legendary show in all its glory. This spectacular show will be made available as a live CD, including the film of the entire show on DVD. The album will only available in a deluxe digipack edition. 'Live At Wacken' features session players Nick Barker (drums), Teloch (guitar) and Ice Dale (guitar) alongside King and Gaahl."
The track listing is as follows:
1. Procreating Satan
2. Forces of Satan storms
3. Teethgrinding
4. Carving a giant
5. A sign of an open eye
6. Wound upon wound
7. GodSeed
8. Of ice and movement
9. Prosperity and beauty
Commented God Seed member King: "God Seed represents a more spiritual side to us than what we have presented in the past. God Seed represents the will to grow; the will to be the super man, so to speak. It represents the god within man, and the god within nature. I never believed in a Christian force named Satan. I believe in the god within man."
God Seed To Release "Live At Wacken" CD/DVD
God Seed has announced the release of an upcoming "Live at Wacken" CD/DVD set on October 25th, 2011. Prosthetic Records commented on the release:
"The memorable performance by Gaahl and King at 2008's Wacken Open Air festival captusred in full! The performance was a reconstruction of Gorgoroth's controversial 2004 Black Mass show in Poland, which featured sheep heads on stakes, 'crucified' nude models, satanic symbols, and eighty liters of sheep's blood. The band came under fire for violating Polish anti-blasphemy laws as well as Polish animal rights laws, resulting in a police investigation with allegations of religious offense and cruelty to animals. The band was exonerated of all charges, and at Wacken 2008, they recreated this now legendary show in all its glory. This deluxe CD/DVD digipak includes liner notes from the band about the process of recreating this special show."

Cradle Of Filth Singer Forms New Band
A new band has been formed which features members from some of the biggest names in metal. The new group, named Temple Of The Black Moon, is fronted by Cradle Of Filth singer Dani Filth and also includes in it's ranks Anthrax/The Damned Things guitarist Rob Caggiano, bass player King Ov Hell (Ov Hell/Sahg/former Gorogoroth) and drummer John Tempesta, who has worked with a variety of bands including White/Rob Zombie, Exodus, Testament and The Cult, of whom is he is still a member. The band describe their sound as "a cauldron bubbling over with the unsavory flavors of Tool and Celtic Frost, and seasoned with the likes of Immortal and At The Gates."
Speaking about the name, Dani Filth commented: "We had an innumerable amount of names that never seemed likely to stick, that was until we put our proverbial heads together and narrowed it down to just three or four, and then tossed for it (proverbially of course) using a silver Norwegian crown (we couldn't find any proper money). The name Temple Of The Black Moon represents the rigorous worship of desire, (the black moon astrologically has always held association with the dark Goddess Lilith) and of course the ramifications of the lunar eclipse, always a herald for death and ill-omen."
The band has recorded almost an album's worth of material and is planning to record the songs in Bergen, Norway for a full-length album, which is expected to be released in the summer of next year.
Song titles thus far include "Infernal Desire Machine," "Don't Call Up What You Can't Put Down," "Dark Eyes For Trouble," "Beautifully Perverse," and "C.N.T (All That's Missing Is You)."
Regain Records And God Seed Comment On Lawsuit
The God Seed MySpace page was recently updated with a statement that a verdict had been reached in a court case regarding the release of Gorogoroth's "Live in Grieghallen" album. The statement indicated that the favorable verdict for former Gorgoroth members Gaahl and King caused Regain Records to go bankrupt. Regain Records has now issued the following statement regarding the comments:
"Due to misleading rumours being spread through God Seed’s MySpace page regarding the bankruptcy of Regain Records, we would like to clarify to all people who have contacted us recently that Regain Records is not in bankruptcy. We would also like to make clear that the dispute that concerns 'Live in Grieghallen' only involves Tom Cato Visnes (aka King), Regain Records and Entertainment AB, since a settlement with Kristian Espedal (aka Gaahl) was already reached in 2009. The legal outcome of this trial has no bearing on Regain Records nor does it influence our future in any way. It is also incorrect that Regain Records owes any unpaid royalties towards Tom Cato Visnes or Kristian Espedal.
"Furthermore Regain Records is very content with the fact that we are still working with the band Gorgoroth and the fact that we choose to support the rightful owner of the trademark, namely Roger Tiegs (aka Infernus). This has always been our main priority during the various legal proceedings which have involved Gorgoroth in one way or another."

Verdict Reached In Regain Records Lawsuit
Update: The authenticity of this information has come under fire and new statements have been released by both Regain Records and God Seed. The new statements can be viewed here.
The official God Seed MySpace page has been updated with the following statement regarding former Gorgoroth members King and Gaahl's lawsuit against Regain Records:
"On December 17, 2009, authorities in Malmø, Sweden decided in favor of King and Gaahl in their case brought against Regain Records for the unauthorized release of Gorgoroth's 'Live in Grieghallen' album. Regain Records has been found to have broken their contract with King/Gaahl on numerous accounts, has been forbidden by the courts to sell this album in the future and has been ordered to pay all legal costs and compensation in the case.
"In anticipation of the verdict, Regain Records filed bankruptcy to Lund Tingsrett in Sweden and was declared bankrupt on December 8, 2009 (Regain Records and Entertainment AB corporate identity number 556689-1825). Peter Överman from Ackordcentralen, Sweden is named as liquidator and is now working on getting an overview of Regain's financial situation as well as handling the claims from Gaahl and King on unpaid royalties, among other claims."
Shagrath and King Announce New Band, Ov Hell
Out of Norway's biggest and darkest metal bands rises Ov Hell. This group of Satan’s all-stars has been sharpening their teeth in some of black metal's most influential bands for many years. Known as key figures in bands such as Dimmu Borgir and Gorgoroth, Shagrath and King have come together to bring forward a new chapter in Norwegian black metal history. Ov Hell will carry on in the same tradition for which King and Shagrath are known, but the collaboration between the two will mark a new era for them both.
Frost (Satyricon, 1349), Ice Dale (Enslaved, I) and Teloch (Nidingr, God Seed, 1349) have been recruited for the first full-length release. The album will contain all of the power and blast beats worthy of their evil pedigrees.
King comments: "The first Ov Hell release will contain music I've worked on in my Gorgoroth and God Seed years. It's been a little hell to actually see this music form into a band, so the name of the band is quite suitable. Through the first song I got from Shagrath I knew that he would be the perfect man to join forces with. He has strong individual qualities and a strong will to power. I am very positive that when we finish up this album it will be an album that won't sound like anything we have done before, and with a quality that won't stand back from anything presented in black metal earlier!"
Shagrath comments: “With both of our demanding music careers and other projects, timing was not on our side. After last years inferno festival, King and I yet again joined forces to brainstorm our need to collaborate our passion for dark art. Over the course of the past year, King sent me demo ideas that were so inspiring it made me put my skeptic feelings aside. I wasn't sure if I wanted to have another Black Metal project but my unquenchable thirst to explore my darkest beast, launched the birth Ov Hell. The majestic Ov Hell has become a band that reflects our roots, raw, ugly, arrogantly blasphemous with uncompromising truth from two influential Norwegian musicians needing to express our primitive side, straight out Ov Hell.”
Two new tracks, "Devil's Harlot" and "Ghosting" from the yet untitled upcoming album, have been uploaded to the band's MySpace.
Studio Line-up:
Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir, Chrome Division) - vocals
King (God Seed, Gorgoroth, Jotunspor, I, Sahg, Audrey Horne) - bass
Ice Dale (Enslaved, I, Audrey Horne, Trinacria, Demonaz) - guitar
Frost (Satyricon, 1349) - drums
Teloch (Nidingr, God Seed, 1349, Umoral) – guitar.
