North America: get ready for the Australian technical death metal masters from Psycroptic to make their way Stateside and headline the Metal Injection-sponsored “Bloodletting North America” tour this Summer.
Dates for the tour — which also features Arkaik, Ovid’s Withering and The Kennedy Veil — will be announced soon.
During the band's first North American tour since supporting Nile in 2010, Psycroptic will blast tunes from its brand new self-titled album — which reached #59 on the Australian pop charts and is one of the best-reviewed metal records of the year to date — along with favorites from the five previous releases over the past 10 years. Arkaik has issued the following announcement about lineup changes within the band:
"Fans and friends,
"A lot has gone on behind the scenes in the last year, we have faced some huge adversity as a band but are very stoked to finally announce the official permanent lineup! To bring things up to speed, within the last year, two of our long time members and guitar players have decided to head in different directions, one of which founded the band with vocalist Jared Christianson in 2006 (Chance Strickland) and another who helped take Arkaik to new heights and abilities in 2009 (Craig Peters) when first signing with Unique Leader Records.
"Craig and Chance are great friends of ours and are respectfully pursuing their own creative and personal interests and there are no hard feelings. Chance will still be working with Arkaik on certain collaborations but has stepped back from the position of rhythm guitar to focus his creative efforts on producing and performing electronic bass music with his now full time project Bastik Legion. Craig Peters will continue to rightfully hold it down on lead guitar for tech-death pioneers Deeds Of Flesh and is also focusing on his own solo music. We wish them all the best and are stoked for what they do with their talents in the future.
"Fortunately, things have come full circle since then and we are proud to announce the official joining of Miguel Esparza and Greg Paulson. Miguel started playing with Arkaik late last year and had previously been in bands with our drummer Alex Bent. He has shown incredible talent and drive since then and has filled the roll of lead guitar exceptionally well, we couldn’t be more stoked to have him on board. The same goes for Greg Paulson who joined the band earlier this year, and has also proved to be a tremendously talented player and performer. We could not be more excited to have the two of them tearing it up with us and what the future has in store for Arkaik’s most solid lineup ever. More...

The 10 song, 53 minute album was recorded in Oakland, CA at Castle Ultimate Studios with Zack Ohren (Decrepit Birth, All Shall Perish, Severed Savior). The following press release was also issued:
"'Metamorphignition' represents Arkaik's most inspired and integral compositions to date. The album weaves together ten tracks with an expansive musical journey told from the perspective of the central character 'Cyrix,' who travels beyond the physical realms of his 'normal' consciousness by means of self-immolation. His travels take him through an intense observation of the conditions influencing the human experience, as he once knew it. Moving fluidly through different moods and arrangements, from harmonic to dissonant, brutal to beautiful, blistering to groovy, and from a position that pushes the progressive death metal genre to the edge of its skin, and beyond. A series of elaborate illustrations representing the concept for each song have been created by visionary artist Tony Koehl and fused into an unfolding booklet. Metamorphignition will take you on an atmospheric exploration of life, limitations, illumination and a wide spectrum of musical and visual reflections of a journey into the mind of man."

(Sirens in Electric Veils)

Cannibal Corpse is like a peanut butter & jelly sandwich if you think about it. I don’t mean literally, of course. The band has been around for 24 years with largely the same consistent sound. Every one of the records has been consistently outselling the one before it without the band ever selling out to be more commercially viable. The tours have been getting consistently longer due to worldwide demand. In all of these things, consistency is the staple. Cannibal Corpse has shown itself to be one of those universal constants like peanut butter & jelly, and both are widely accepted and can be mighty tasty if you’re in the mood for them.
As evidenced by the long line of black shirts seen up and down Elliston Place outside the Exit/In, Nashville, TN was having a Cannibal Corpse craving at the end of April. Fortunately for us, Cannibal Corpse just rolled into town with a few bands in tow: Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn, and Arkaik. More...

California death metal act Arkaik has issued the following announcement about parting ways with drummer Keith Roylance:
"We are sad to say Keith Roylance will be leaving the band. We'd like to thank him for all his hard work and dedication to help get Arkaik where it is today. He will still be playing our upcoming shows, But due to his personal life he will be unable to tour with the band.
"So! That leaves us looking for a new full time drummer. We are looking for a dedicated drummer that wants to tour and take Arkaik to the next level. You must have a passport and a clean record so we can tour outside of the country. Dedicated and passionate about the music and your craft. Not only do we want someone who can play our material but also someone who can add some new flavor and a sick jazz fusion style to the band amongst the brutality. Serious inquiries only!
"If you or someone you know who might be interested please send us a message on Facebook or email us at email@example.com Here's a list of songs we would like to see covered for try outs...

"Please help spread the word on looking for a new drummer so we can hit the road asap!
Also we are over halfway done writing for the upcoming album 'Metamorphignition.' This will not hinder the writing at all we are still very hard at work to finish the album and hit the studio in fall/winter time. Expect some pre-production teaser vlogs here very soon! Thanks for the support!"

California's Arkaik has issued the following announcement about working on an upcoming album:
"Arkaik is currently hard at work on their sophomore effort which will be titled Metamorphignition. Their intention is to create a more mature and rhythmically balanced album that expands on their already fierce musical style. It will be an evolution in which the brutality and technical ferocity will not be lost, merely accompanied by other musical elements to add depth to the sound.
"The music on the album will be intertwined with a story to engage listeners and take them on an abstract journey into the transcendental nature of humanity and the cosmos. We plan to head into the studio towards the end of the year. The artwork will be handled by the graphic master Tony Koehl. So expect a cinematically sonic and thought provoking next album. We'll post updates as they come."
California progressive death metal band Arkaik has issued the following message welcoming their new bassist Ivan Munguia:

CREMATORIUM, the Los Angeles purveyors of "Murdercore," has announced that guitarist and longest standing member, Mark Uehlein, will be leaving the band for personal reasons. His last show with CREMATORIUM will be this Saturday, February 27th at The Blvd in Los Angeles, CA.
Vocalist Daniel Dismal comments on the subject, "This Saturday night is going to be Mark's last show ever with CREMATORIUM. Mark has dedicated a lot of blood and sweat into playing with CREMATORIUM since 1996 and in many ways, CREMATORIUM would not have done as much as we have as a band if it was not for Mark's involvement with the band. It's a sad day to watch Mark leave but we want to give him a proper send off and let him know just how much he will be missed and how much he's actually given to the underground Metal scene as a whole."
The complete details of the show are as follows:
