Arkaik Calls Forth The "Order Of The Hierogon"

September 29th will see the release of Arkaik's anxiously-awaited fifth full-length "Nemethia." In advance of its release, the brutal tech-death outfit unveils "Order Of The Hierogon" for public feasting. Check it out below.

Comments the band of the consuming, near-ten-minute track, "We really wanted to push our writing with this one, try some new things and challenge ourselves into making a massive track that explores the spectrum of our sound all in one song. We had the rare opportunity to work with Joe Haley from Psycroptic on a tasty guest solo and it came out better than we could have imagined.

"As for the concept of the song as it relates to the story, Cyrix stumbles into a hidden territory called The City Of Secrets. He is introduced to a banished order of outsiders, mystics, sages, psychic warriors, historians, and oracles that preserve the lineage of knowledge contained within the 'Order Of The Hierogon.' Once welcomed into the inner circle of this mysterious group who seemed to have foreknowledge of his arrival, Cyrix is bestowed with mental and physical tools and training to make his passage through the Nexion Stargate, which takes place at the end of the album.

"We created the word 'Hierogon' to describe a mystical navigation device that Cyrix inherits from his new allies. It is the 'holy grail' of the order. The Arkaik symbol you see in the beginning of this video is a visual representation of the Hierogon."

The fourth full length for Unique Leader and most ambitious studio album to date, "Nemethia" was produced, engineered, and mixed by Zack Ohren (Immolation, Fallujah, Suffocation, Decrepit Birth et al.) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California, and features guest appearances by Joe Haley of Psycroptic, Arde Ostowari formerly of Burning The Masses, Stephen Paulson of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, and former Arkaik guitarist Craig Peters, as well as Gabe Seeber from The Kennedy Veil and Decrepit Birth (live) performing drums for the entire album.

Arkaik Releases New Video

Advancing the September release of Arkaik's fifth full-length album "Nemethia," the brutal tech-death metal outfit today releases an official video for the record's "Futile State" track.

Produced and directed by Nikko DeLuna, with effects by Trevor "No One" Turner and makeup by Sherra Dixon and Jenn Jones, the new "Futile State" video visually delivers some of the album's sci-fi influence.

A continuation on the conceptual saga of Arkaik's two previous releases, on "Nemethia" the journey of Cyrix expands into new landscapes, as does the band's technical prowess and creativity.

Vocalist Jared Christianson commments: "The song is about the feeling of existential futility and the catharsis it can create. The video is a blend of ideas. I took inspiration from Plato's Allegory Of The Cave, mixed with neo-shamanism and put a transhumanist spin on it. Nikko DeLuna is great at taking my ideas and bringing them to life. It was a pleasure to work with him again, and the rest of our team. Enjoy!" More...

Arkaik Reveals New Album

Progressive tech death collective Arkaik will unleash "Nemethia" on September 29th via Unique Leader Records. A continuation on the conceptual saga of the two previous releases, on "Nemethia" the journey of Cyrix expands into new landscapes.

The band's fourth full-length offering for Unique Leader was produced, engineered, and mixed by Zack Ohren at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California, and features guest appearances by Joe Haley of Psycroptic, Arde Ostowari formerly of Burning The Masses, Stephen Paulson of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, former Arkaik guitarist Craig Peters, as well as Gabe Seeber from The Kennedy Veil performing drums for the entire album.

The cover art and booklet was designed by artist Tyler Space, who worked with the band on previous release, "Lucid Dawn." Said founding vocalist Jared Christianson of the record's concept:

"This album fully sets the stage and builds on the story we started developing two albums ago with Cyrix and Metamorphignition. We've begun weaving together our own mythos of synchronicity and symbolism to encapsulate and distill the journey of the alchemist through the gnostic dream. It attempts to reveal through storytelling and allegory that we can experience real freedom and discover the inner treasures that guide us to who, what, and where we want to be, if we are willing to pull back the veil of lies blinding us from the truth of our nature.

"If I could sum up everything we've done so far, my personal journey and our message as a band in three words it would be the lyric 'pain to power' from the song 'Telegnosis.' To me, it's about transmuting your struggles into strengths and refining your personal power and will. I really enjoyed making this album and hope people dig it!" More...

Arkaik Recruits New Bassist

Arkaik just issued this announcement online about recruiting new bass player Adam Roethlisberger:

"For the past five years we have had one of the most talented and innovative bass players in the world of technical death metal, previously playing in bands such as Brain Drill, Insanity, Continuum and now carrying the torch in Deeds of Flesh, Ivan Munguia lifted us to new levels in our music and we have had an incredible time sharing the stage and excellent traveling experiences on the many awesome tours we had the privilege of doing in the last five years.

"Its been an unbelievable ride; and so, it is with heavy hearts that we must part with Ivan. We are eternally grateful for all the effort, work, creativity and extraordinary memories. Thank you Ivan 'The Chupacabra' Munguia, you are an authentic bad ass MF and world class musician, thanks for everything, man! As many of you know, life is an ever changing journey and that applies to Arkaik, none the less. Ivan will continue to ravage the death metal world in Deeds of Flesh and Continuum. We are still great friends and we wish him the the best in all his future endeavors!

"With that said, we are extremely proud to announce Adam Roethlisberger as our new permanent bass player! Adam has been touring with us as a fill-in for the past year and has proven to be an absolute powerhouse on stage and within the inner workings of the band. We couldn’t be more excited to bring him on board as a full time member of ARKAIK. Adam will be bringing a whole new force of momentum, skill and power to the band. He will also be writing and recording with us on our upcoming album, so keep your eyes on this guy and enjoy this killer video-play though of 'Metamorphignition!'" More...

Arkaik Releases "The Temple Aflame" Video

Unique Leader Records band Arkaik just released a new music video for "The Temple Aflame," taken off latest album "Lucid Dawn." Check out the clip below, and you can also stream the entire "Lucid Dawn" album at this location.

"Lucid Dawn" was engineered, mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren (Suffocation, Fallujah, Wrvth, All Shall Perish et al.) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California and is out now worldwide via Unique Leader Records.

Elaborated the band of the new video: "This track is all about the groove and raw heaviness. It's straight forward and to-the-point, which is pretty different from previous stuff we've written but it serves its place within the album and adds variety between songs on Lucid Dawn. The song is basically about overcoming fear and the video kind of alludes to the concept of the album but from an alternative perspective. It was produced and directed by Nikko Deluna. We had a great time making it. We actually ended up filming on the same day/night as the fourth and final 'blood moon' total lunar eclipse of 2015, an obviously metal coincidence. Nikko was really professional and a blast to work with!"

Enfold Darkness Cancels Upcoming Tour Dates

Matt Brown from Enfold Darkness has issued the following announcement about canceling the band's upcoming shows with Arkaik:

"We have some bad news. Unfortunately, we regret to inform you all that we won't be able to do the Lucid Revolution Tour with Arkaik and Bermuda.

"A few days ago, our drummer, Greg Vance's, girlfriend got in a car accident in which she suffered some very serious injuries. I won't go into too much detail about it here so that we might respect Greg and his family's privacy, but two and a half years ago, Greg and his girlfriend moved to Nashville so that Greg might join the band. Greg and his girlfriend have no one here besides themselves.

"The plan was while we were out on tour, his girlfriend was going to hold down the fort, but as she is now incapacitated for at least the next month, she won't be able to work or even take care of herself. Due to this, Greg decided that he would not be able to do the tour with us.

"Usually, we would get a fill-in drummer when something like this happens (which we have looked into it, naturally), but because this incident has befallen us so close to the beginning of the tour, we really have no way to cover all the expenses that we would accrue from transporting a drummer with his drumkit from the West Coast (it being the only region that we have found drummers whom would be available) to Nashville. Preparing for this tour was very expensive to begin with, and our coffers are dry. More...

Arkaik Releasing "Lucid Dawn"

Californian progressive death metal outfit Arkaik is set to unleash a third full-length album via Unique Leader Records on October 30, 2015.

Entitled "Lucid Dawn," the ten-track magnum opus was engineered, mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren (Suffocation, Fallujah, Wrvth, All Shall Perish et al.) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California.

With the addition of guitarists Miguel Esparza (ex-Hatriot) and Greg Paulson as additional composers, "Lucid Dawn" delivers a fresh approach to the band's sound. As an added bonus, the album features guest appearances from death metal heavy weights Trevor Strnad and Ryan Knight of The Black Dahlia Murder, as well as Bay Area live string quartet, Amaranth.

"Lucid Dawn" is the second installment in a series of concept albums revolving around Cyrix, a disillusioned character in a dystopian society. In Cyrix's world, dreaming is systematically controlled by a tyrannical ruler named Khaal-Li-Phar and his army of dark shamans, where people are forced to build monuments to the tyrant to stifle their imaginations and inhibit their ability to achieve a multi-dimensional existence.
