Vektor Releasing "Terminal Redux"

After nearly 5 long years, Philadelphia-based progressive sci-fi metallers Vektor are back with their third studio album entitled, "Terminal Redux." both embracing and expanding upon the intricate layers of the preceding albums, "Black Future" and "Outer Isolation."

"Terminal Redux" is the group's first concept album, telling the story of a test subject and his rise to power within the all-controlling Cygnus Regime. His ultimate goal is to restore balance within the galaxy by controlling the ebb and flow of life and death. After regaining his position as a top-ranking general, he incites a coup within Cygnus and takes command of their forces. However, as time passes, it becomes clear to him that power is just an illusion.

Pre-orders for the album are up now here and vocalist / guitarist David DiSanto explains in his own words:

"We wanted to come out of the gates full force and showcase a song that represented the album accurately. 'Terminal Redux' covers a lot of ground, so it wasn't an easy decision. In my opinion, this song is right in the middle of the pendulum swing between the ultra-heavy thrash and the more proggy/experimental elements of the album. It's only the tip of the iceberg! Since this is a concept album, each song is a different chapter in the story. As the fifth track, 'Ultimate Artificer' introduces a pivotal point within the story without giving away the beginning or the end." More...

Berserker III Band Lineup Announced

This March, the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan will play host to the annual Berserker Music Fest.

Now in its third year, the event - a truly DIY affair founded and organized by Child Bite frontman Shawn Knight and wife Veronica - Berskerer III boasts its most devouring lineups to date with the all-ages three-night/three-stage gala.

Appearances will be made by internationally touring acts like Voivod, Ghoul, Conan, Macabre, Cannabis Corpse and Black Tusk as well as a spattering of new and established Michigan-based artists like Acid Witch, Child Bite, Perversion and Shit Life.

Comments Knight, "It's a fucking blast putting this thing together. Veronica and I pick all of the bands and organize the entire weekend. I handle all of the art and a lot of the promotion side too. It's a metric shit ton of work and it's really stressful, but in the end it's all worth it. We're basically just making something that we wish was already had; a bit of the ol' 'if you build it, they will come.' I spent a lot of time at various metal fests last year, either playing them with Child Bite or simply attending them. It's great to see what works, what doesn't, and just in general let it affect how we plan our next event. This is our biggest lineup yet, and our biggest venue, so I can't wait to see how it all turns out!"

Sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon, VGKids, ESP Printing, UHF Records, CJAM 99.1 FM and Woodward Avenue Brewers, Berserker III will take place on March 3rd, 4th, and 5th with a special FREE PreSerker kickoff party slated to take place at Small's (Hamtramck) on Wednesday, March 2nd featuring eight bands on two stages. Vektor Frontman Comments On Arrest

Vocalist David DiSanto of Philadelphia sci-fi thrash act Vektor has posted the following message online about being arrested after splashing beer on a religious protester:

"Hey everybody, David here. I’ve spent the past few days settling into 'normal' life and enjoying being home, so even though the coals may have cooled a bit since this weekend, I wanted to give my side of the story.

"A lot has been said about what happened, and I just want to clarify a few things. I did not haul out and throw a beer bottle at someone. I was around someone who I felt was antagonizing an event and people I cared about. I was annoyed, and I had a beer in my hand. (Something I’m sure many of you can relate to.) What I did was a momentary lapse in judgment, nothing more, nothing less.

"I’m not some meathead or asshole who would pick on someone for their beliefs. I don’t give a shit what anyone’s personal beliefs are (unless their beliefs include hatred towards a specific gender, race, or sexual orientation – those people are assholes). What the protester was doing wasn’t right – but now that I look back on it, what I did wasn’t right either. I do believe that people have the right to protest, but I guess I draw the line when it borders on insanity. People who show up at a public gathering spouting their extremist beliefs would better serve society in a mental institution. More...

Vektor has issued the following announcement about missing tonight's previously scheduled tour date due to van problems:

"Attention Vermont: We are HUGELY sorry, but our van broke down on the way from Boston and our transmission is completely fried. Sadly this isn't something we can fix in a single day, and tonight's show with Exhumed in Winooski will have to go on without us.

Vektor Writing New Music

Vektor has checked in with the following announcement about taking a break from live shows to relocate and work on new material:

"You may already be aware of this, but we wanted to clarify: over the next few months Vektor will be relocating out of Arizona to Philadelphia, PA (no big story behind the reason -- we're all just needing a change in that direction).

"Due to that and other personal happenings (eg. a wedding!) Vektor will be outwardly quiet for the next couple of months. But rest assured that during this period, though we have a lot to take care of during the move, we are all writing and rehearsing insane new music, as well as preparing for and organizing the many tours to come by August and thereafter!

"Vektor is right now musically and internally the strongest we have ever been and hope you'll be patient with the short inactivity period while we get our 'real lives' squared away. During the wait you'll have the vinyl release of OUTER ISOLATION to look forward to, as well as other new merchandise... Details forthcoming.

"Thanks again for the support, this western tour alone had some of our best shows to date and touring by our selves we know that it is only because you guys are rabidly loyal and awesome. We recognize and appreciate that, and hope you'll stick with us and keep that up. The insanity has only just begun. SCI FI OR DIE!!"
