Vocalist David DiSanto of Philadelphia sci-fi thrash act Vektor has posted the following message online about being arrested after splashing beer on a religious protester:
"Hey everybody, David here. I’ve spent the past few days settling into 'normal' life and enjoying being home, so even though the coals may have cooled a bit since this weekend, I wanted to give my side of the story.
"A lot has been said about what happened, and I just want to clarify a few things. I did not haul out and throw a beer bottle at someone. I was around someone who I felt was antagonizing an event and people I cared about. I was annoyed, and I had a beer in my hand. (Something I’m sure many of you can relate to.) What I did was a momentary lapse in judgment, nothing more, nothing less.
"I’m not some meathead or asshole who would pick on someone for their beliefs. I don’t give a shit what anyone’s personal beliefs are (unless their beliefs include hatred towards a specific gender, race, or sexual orientation – those people are assholes). What the protester was doing wasn’t right – but now that I look back on it, what I did wasn’t right either. I do believe that people have the right to protest, but I guess I draw the line when it borders on insanity. People who show up at a public gathering spouting their extremist beliefs would better serve society in a mental institution. More...

"Alright here is the update everyone: we WILL be making it to the two Canadian shows today and tomorrow, but we'll be in a borrowed van while ours gets fixed.
"Sadly this means we will have to miss Cleveland 11/2 to get our van back in time for rejoining the tour in Chicago 11/3. Donations for the new transmission can paypal to email@example.com. Thanks to VT and Exhumed, last night's show ruled! ONWARD!"

Vektor has issued the following announcement about missing tonight's previously scheduled tour date due to van problems:
"Attention Vermont: We are HUGELY sorry, but our van broke down on the way from Boston and our transmission is completely fried. Sadly this isn't something we can fix in a single day, and tonight's show with Exhumed in Winooski will have to go on without us.
"Again, we are really pissed off and upset about this turn of events but we are doing every single thing we can do to get back on the road for tomorrow's show in Montreal (we'll keep you posted).
"Sorry everyone, this shit can be unavoidable sometimes... Vermont-ers please spread the word about the cancellation and we'll do our best to be back soon to make up for it. FUCK THIS!"

Vektor has checked in with the following announcement about taking a break from live shows to relocate and work on new material:
"You may already be aware of this, but we wanted to clarify: over the next few months Vektor will be relocating out of Arizona to Philadelphia, PA (no big story behind the reason -- we're all just needing a change in that direction).
"Due to that and other personal happenings (eg. a wedding!) Vektor will be outwardly quiet for the next couple of months. But rest assured that during this period, though we have a lot to take care of during the move, we are all writing and rehearsing insane new music, as well as preparing for and organizing the many tours to come by August and thereafter!
"Vektor is right now musically and internally the strongest we have ever been and hope you'll be patient with the short inactivity period while we get our 'real lives' squared away. During the wait you'll have the vinyl release of OUTER ISOLATION to look forward to, as well as other new merchandise... Details forthcoming.
"Thanks again for the support, this western tour alone had some of our best shows to date and touring by our selves we know that it is only because you guys are rabidly loyal and awesome. We recognize and appreciate that, and hope you'll stick with us and keep that up. The insanity has only just begun. SCI FI OR DIE!!"

California thrash metal act Warbringer has been announced as the headline act at this year's "Thrashgiving" charity event. The benefit concert to feed the needy is set to take place on Saturday, November 20 at Cheyenne Saloon in Las Vegas, Nevada. Support on the bill will come from Hatchet, Hexen, Vektor, Malus Rex and Control the Chaos.
Event organizers commented by saying:
"Two years ago we debuted the concept of Thrashgiving bringing together out-of-state and local artists performing thrash metal music for the benefit of the needy and we're doing it again. Even bigger and better this year in an attempt to make this an event held annually in Las Vegas. All proceeds from the show will go to the Rescue Mission and Boys Town. So attend a good show and know that your charitable ticket price will be donated to these organizations to help the less fortunate have a nice holiday.
Arizona based virtuosic thrash act Vektor has issued the following update about the band's recent and upcoming activity:
"We wanted to give an update for everyone on what's been going on in Vektor world since tour ended and what the future holds... First off, our 6-week trek around the US in June/July/Aug. was a god damn blast. Thanks for everyone who came out to the shows and supported us, helped us with booking, or gave us a floor to crash on. We appreciate it immensely. Made a lot of new friends, heard some great bands and spread the Vektor disease as far as we could. If we still haven't hit your area on this tour or the previous winter tour, we are definitely trying to for the future (San Francisco, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, etc).
"The vinyl release of Black Future is finally out, and we apologize for the delay. It was released 9/14 in 3 versions (all of them are 2LP, full artwork gatefold): - Black vinyl (300 copies) - Blue/Purple Splatter vinyl with cover artwork slipmat, hand-numbered (100 copies) - Green vinyl with logo slipmat, hand-numbered (100 copies)
"They are going rather quickly and will NOT be repressed any time in the near future, so get over to Heavy Artillery's webstore to grab one of those before they are gone! Heavy Artillery helped us put together some really, really cool packages for these and they are really awesome collector's items that look and sound fucking rad. Best to buy now, so you don't have to pay out the ass on eBay in 10 years. More...

Vektor has issued the following recap of their recent U.S. tour alongside Heavy Artillery Records label mates Exmortus:
"People of Earth: Vektor is home at last from our first US tour Winter Mayhem, and by all accounts it was a resounding success (unless you count being fucking freezing for a solid month)! There were so many awesome shows and fun times had by all. First and foremost we have to thank everyone that showed up to the shows and rocked with us, picked up a shirt, and hung out with us. We met so many awesome people over that month that it's hard to even remember it all, and we thank you for it. Of course the other big thank you goes to our brothers in Exmortus for all of their help and for being great guys. There's not a lot of people I'd want to live in a van with, but if I had to choose, those guys would be at the top of the list. Finally, our rad merch guy and good friend Ryan Johnson deserves an honorable mention for coming along and sacrificing so much of his time just to help us out.
"We also wanted to apologize to Boston for missing out on your show, due to problems beyond our control. We are working on our summer tour plans (which will be more extensive, due to the better weather) and we will be making it up to you! Sorry to anyone who showed up to find us not there, we only had so much time to give notice that we couldn't make it. More...
