Edge of Serenity will release a new single featuring Adrian Erlandsson (Paradise Lost, At The Gates, Nemhain, Vallenfyre) on drums, which will also be the debut of new vocalist Nanette V.
Edge of Serenity decided in late 2011 to continue as a female fronted metal band. With this decision the band will lean to a more darker and sinister sound, with member Wietze stating, "As I always say, writing music is like living your life, it changes once in a while and so at this moment I just have the feeling of writing more darker songs than I did before. And I think with this sound I have found, we will continue, as it's not as friendly as the tracks on our debut album The Chaos Theory, but it gives me a more satisfying feeling overall."
The band has finished several new tracks for an upcoming release, which will contain more special guest appearances. The new single will be available this spring. Further details are expected to come soon.
Edge of Serenity, which recruited a new vocalist back in November of 2011, has now issued the following brief announcement about bringing on a new lead guitarist:
"We are proud to announce that Ivar Useinov (Carceri) will be our new lead guitarist. Ivar has already started writing new material, also check his work on the new Carceri release 'The Good Must Suffer The Wicked.'"
Further details on Edge of Serenity are available through the band's official Facebook profile.
Dutch melodic death metal act Edge of Serenity announced that the band has added new vocalist Nanette V. through the band's official Facebook Page.
The posting reads as follows:
"In between all the song writing EDGE OF SERENITY adds a new member to the band. Nanette V. will from now on take care of the lead vocals and is a fulltime member. Nanette did several musical productions, including Pink Floyds 'The Wall.' EDGE OF SERENITY will continue as a female fronted band."
The band is currently working on the sophomore release to follow the 2009 debut release "The Chaos Theory."
Founding member Wietze Halma from Dutch act Edge of Serenity has checked in with the following update about lineup changes and working on a new album:
"Edge of Serenity will soon reveal its new line up, including a special guest who will appear on the new album which the band currently is working on.
"We only release a new album when it has the right feeling. And not because there has to be a new album because it has been some while since we released our debut. Soon more details will be available."

Dutch melodic metal band Edge of Serenity has announced the recruitment of new drummer Ben Schepers. Vocalist Wietze Halma commented on the lineup change:
"From the moment we played the first song it was clear that Ben was the man for the job. He is talented, experimental and very technical in his playing. And he does all this while always having a monstrous groove! Exactly what we need! It already feels like he's been in the band for years!"
Guitarist Michael Hansen also added, "Ben will kick off the recording of the new Edge of Serenity album as soon as possible. Drum lines are being written and pre-recordings are currently being made, so the process is definitely speeding up."
According to the band, the next Edge of Serenity album will be "heavier, faster, groovier and more melodic and technical" than the 2009 debut "The Chaos Theory." The as-yet-untitled album will be released worldwide in 2011.
Edge of Serenity has issued the following announcement about recruiting a new guitarist and writing a new album:
"Dutch melodic metal band Edge of Serenity proudly announces that guitarist Michael Hansen has joined the band. Michael Hansen is no stranger to the band, as he played together with bassist Mark Brekelmans in several other bands and projects. Michael is, next to being a very good friend of mine, a very talented guitar player and also a very good composer. From the first second he joined the band he is heavily involved in the writing process of the last tracks that are being written for the album.
"Edge of Serenity is currently rounding up the writing process for their second album which will be heavier, faster, groovier and more melodic and technical than the band’s 2009 debut album The Chaos Theory. The yet untitled album will be released worldwide in 2011. The band will also play a lot of shows that year to support the release."
Vocalist Wietze of Dutch metal act Edge of Serenity has issued the following update about writing new material for an upcoming album:
"I'm currently writing a brand new 'yet untitled' album for Edge of Serenity, after a successful release of 'The Chaos Theory' the time has come to expand my horizon and add new musical influences and ingredients to my music, as I walk my musical path, I feel and taste different things, which makes it challenging for me as a musician/composer to take the next step towards a brand new album, as it will be more experimental than 'The Chaos Theory.' I'm not able to tell you more at this stage of the album production, I will keep you updated on the album production process. As well I will announce the studio line up for this album soon!"

EDGE OF SERENITY recorded their debut full length at the German Spacelab Studios, where the CD was produced, mixed and mastered by Christian “Moschus” Moos. The CD contains guest appearances from Judith Stüber (Everon, Satyrian), Tony J.J (M.A.N, Icon In Me, ex Mnemic) and Dennis Hormes.
The Dutch melodic metal band EDGE OF ANGER has confirmed today that they will continue under the name EDGE OF SERENITY.
Frontman Wietze Halma had this to say about this decision: "We experienced lately more and more problems, as more bands used the name Edge Of Anger, and this resulted in all kind of confusions. As a band, we felt that this was a good moment to do something about this, as we are just joined by 2 new band members ( Jaco Dekker and Noud Smeets ) and about to release our debut-album this Spring via our new label Romulus X Records. So, it was 'now, or never.' We are proud of our new name EDGE OF SERENITY and cannot wait to reveal more details about our upcoming debut album 'The Chaos Theory' and start touring !"
